STORY:
Slate and his siblings were born to purebred showcats Rocky (father) and Brook (mother). Their mother was doting and proper, always telling the kittens to keep themselves groomed and presentable. Their father, Rocky, loved his children but was more of a stoic type. The kittens were told that they would be adopted out to twolegs from the get-go, so it was no surprise when the fated day finally arrived. Clover was more eager to be adopted into a new home and live with twolegs while Slate always dreamed of living as a wild cat.

Clover would have been adopted by twolegs at ten weeks (~2.5 moons) of age and arrived in SkyClan/the Pine Group anytime before a year ago (roughly around November 2022)! They would have left their twolegs for some reason or another, which I am leaving entirely up to the roleplayer.

Flash forward to the beginning of January 2023 when Slate runs into Cloverjaw at the twolegplace/SkyClan border while hunting. They invite him to live in SkyClan and, with Blazestar's blessing, Slate is accepted! Since then, they have been catching up and getting to truly know one another. Slate now sees Cloverjaw as his confidant and closest friend in SkyClan.

— This is not FCFS! Choosing date is TBA but may closer sooner/later depending on amount of interest
— These littermates are both 42 moons old and age realistically on the first of each month. Your character would have been, at the oldest, 21 moons old when they joined SkyClan. However, they could have joined SkyClan beforehand when it was still known as The Pine Group.
— This is Cloverjaw's third iteration. Their characterization should largely remain similar to the original concepts ( Cloverjaw being the more likable, outgoing littermate ) but of course you can have creative freedom and make other changes to the character like backstory, quirks, appearance, etc! Their first iteration's tags are here and their second iteration's tags are here. For reference, Slate's tags are here.
— I would prefer if Cloverjaw's name ( or at least the prefix ) and pronouns ( he/him, but gender identity and additional pronouns are up to you ) stayed the same because of how long this character has been around but I may be open to retconning things if desired! If you choose to rename, then the naming theme is nature.
— Courtesy of Meghan, you are allowed to use the original artwork that was made for this character or you can redesign them entirely!
— I would like for this character to stay in SkyClan unless a juicy and cool plot comes up! >:3
— As this is Cloverjaw's third iteration, I want to stress that a commitment to at least casual activity ( ~3-5 posts per month ) will be required for this adopt. • APPEARANCE​

  longhaired silver tabby maine coon tom with amber eyes. built like his brother, both because of breed and his life living on his own, cloverjaw is a sight to look at. he's not a small tom, in any sense of the word, and yet walks a delicate line between seeming like a true powerhouse and something less battle-prepared due to his insistence of looking more well-kept. the only thing that mars his appearance is a rather large scar on his face, around his jaw- it no longer hurts, but the reminder of the fight it came from will stay with him for as long as he lives.

  MENTALITY​

  kind / easygoing / dedicated / unserious / experimental / superficial / impulsive / insecure / reserved / charming . if someone were to look at cloverjaw compared to slate- at least personality wise- it'd be near impossible to believe that they're brothers. where slate keeps others at arms length, cloverjaw is the one to greet them, to make sure they're doing okay, or to make sure they're settling in well. he likes to talk others ears off, and he really, truly loves the idea of being their friend when he thinks about it. this, alongside his (outwardly) more easygoing attitude when it comes to things involving him means he comes off as extremely approachable. which is good! it's good.
  
  what he doesn't like to show is how slow he is to well and truly trust, and how superficial he is. his friendship with most of his clanmates only goes as far as surface level, and he's not about to be the one to break that routine any time soon. in fact, he clings to the idea of others liking him so desperately that he's forced himself into the mask- he'll be agreeable, he'll say what he's supposed to, and he'll never let anyone close enough that they get scared off or decide they dislike him.
  
  despite his need to be liked, cloverjaw bounces between being painfully unserious and overbearingly dedicated to the clan. while he's quick to crack jokes, even when the timing isn't right- (especially then, because he has a bad habit of doing that when he's nervous)- anything regarding skyclan as a whole is like flipping a switch. he'll do what needs to be done, or he'll help his clanmates, and there won't be a single complaint out of him until it's over. in fact, his clanmates may have to get him to rest should he start trying to overwork himself.
  
  if there's anything cloverjaw does like, it's efficiency and trying new things, and sometimes those things don't work out the way he had planned. he acts without thinking most times, especially when it comes to this- if he has an idea, he has to at least see if it will work, consequences or no.
  
  guilt from cloverjaw's past very well threatens to eat him alive- not only does what he did haunt him, but deep down he's insecure of his role in skyclan and if they'll consider him that important if they ever find out the truth. he's not about to go out of his way to find out, though, even if he's sure he's just digging himself into an even deeper hole with how long he's kept it a secret.​

  INTERACTION​

  wants to trust easily, especially clanmates, but is hesitant to well and truly let his guard down around most of them.
  SMELLS strongly of pine trees and, less often and more subtly, plants he may stumble across in Skyclan territory.
  SOUNDS LIKE smooth and even- tends to speak a bit lower than he did prior to coming out, although this would be unknown to most of skyclan unless they knew him before.

• HISTORY​

  - born to rocky and brook alongside siblings. is content to stay where he is even after Slate leaves, living in the lap of luxury.
  - adopted by a family close by at five months old; stays in their closed-in garden, but cannot shake the desire to see what's out in the world.
  - it becomes too much to bear by the time he's eight moons, leading him to do what is meant to be a short adventure across the fence. he instead gets lost.
  - has a few near-death experiences, and ends up hiding out for a few days. hears rumors of skyclan from there, and prepares to make the journey when he's eleven moons old, mostly due to his own nervousness.
  - journey gets postponed again- clover instead spends three moons trying to gather the confidence to make it on his own. it mostly works.
  - nearing fifteen moons when he's attacked by a duo of loners, looking for food that he had found in order to save his strength. he's caught off guard with the ferocity in which they attack, and ends up with the signature scar on his face. realizes it's his life or theirs, and kills one of the loners in the chaos and hurts the other. doesn't check to make sure they're dead, and instead hurries for the rumored territory of the clan, refusing to look back at what he had done.
  - spends days trying to find the clan while also dealing with an injured jaw- it's only through being careful that it doesn't get infected. skyclan is the one to find him, and clover nearly cries when he's allowed to stay.
  - becomes a skyclan warrior, devoted to his loyalty to the clan that saved his life. Given the name cloverjaw.
  - a year ago- a familiar face is found, and cloverjaw is quick to vouch for the potential joiner- his brother, slate.
  
  

  NOTES & PLOTS​

  - i know the original idea for his second iteration was dropped, but i loved the idea of it + the first iteration of cloverjaw being someone genuinely kind who would do bad things, so i sort of combined them both. yes, he's done horrible things in the past and he would again if he had to. is he entirely horrible morally? no. he may not be the best, but i imagine it's something that has haunted him in the past and will continue to haunt him for as long as he's alive.
  
  - plot wise, i'd love for someone to figure out what he's done and use that for their own gain as a form of blackmail. whether it's a loner or someone in duskclan or even someone on the more chaotic side of things in skyclan, i think playing with how much he's willing to do to hide his past could be fun! bonus points if the truth comes out anyways, and bonus bonus if he hasn't told slate about this before now. in the idea i have for him, he wouldn't have, but i'd also be willing to explore slate being the only one besides the potential blackmail-cat that knows his secret!
  
  - he's going to be the world's most awkward uncle. what do you mean, slate had kits before he did? also- no thank you, he doesn't want to look at them right now, he's scared he'll step on one or something...
  
  - once he's more established, i would love for him to adopt kits of his own! this would likely be it's own adopt, and i also kind of have the idea of a coparenting rival-lovers plot as a potential thing, with the tldr being someone the potential adopted babies look up to as a father figure alongside cloverjaw and how they navigate that until they fall in love. i'm unfortunately a sucker for fake dating so i think that would be a cute, more lighthearted plot with plenty of silly potential moments like that.
  
  - i also think it would be fun for him to kill someone in defense of skyclan as a whole or a clanmate. especially if it's in the aftermath of the first plot mentioned. that is all.
