While mentor & apprentice pairings are most easily made in our discord server, it’s important to have an onsite reference. Look no further: here’s our official training hub! If you want an apprentice or a played mentor, simply fill out one of our forms and you’ll be paired up with someone ASAP. Once paired, you will receive a ceremony in the next available meeting.

✧ RULES
  • For a SkyClanner to receive a played mentor or apprentice, they must qualify for the census (have 3 ic posts).
  • As per the warrior code, kittens may not become apprentices until the age of 6 moons. NOTE: Apprentices made before January 1st 2024 would have been made apprentices at 4 moons.
  • Your character must have been a graduated warrior for at least two moons to be eligible to receive an apprentice.
  • Unless otherwise requested, a mentor-apprentice pairing will be held for a period of one month if one character falls off the census. Then, the active character in the pairing (if any) will be re-paired.

  • SILVERSMOKEhigh activity, 2 max
Very combat-focused and no-nonsense, Silversmoke expects the best from his apprentices and will push them hard to get it (think early morning routines, turning most things into a learning opportunity, more than happy to hold apprentices back from more fun things if they're not making progress). He is a stickler for right and wrong and is quick to give more of the unpleasant duties to apprentices who need a reminder of SkyClan's rules, however, for those who at least try to meet his expectations and don't argue with him, he can be a very amicable mentor who acts protective of his proteges and reacts with an awkward friendliness towards them. He has had two previous apprentices and has participated in enough training sessions and assessments to have a reputation around his training style, though whether it's positive or negative is dependent on the character.

    EDENBERRYhigh activity, 1 max
Inexperienced but nurturing. prioritizes POSITIVE reinforcement above all else. edenberry is not particularly skilled in combat and will struggle to teach it but have boundless patience for students who struggle to grasp concepts for "longer than average" as someone who formerly struggled with it in their own apprenticeship. very devoted to clearly articulating the warrior code, if only because it was a core of their training, so apprentices will have high expectations for following it and mess ups will be met with stern disappointment. will hope to be buddies with their little shadow but won't make it obvious they're bothered if the two dont grow very close. apprentices who do not respect daylighters or are openly hateful of kittypets will butt heads with them for obvious reasons and may find themself on the receiving end of Many chores and lectures.

    CHRYSALISWINGhigh activity, 1 max
Fighting/Hunting focus, will be incredibly hard and strict with an apprentice. TBC.

    ORANGESTARhigh activity, 2 max
Strict, patient and proud, Orangestar will choose an apprentice who shows promise. She is an experienced teacher, and will pair well with a cat willing to put their all into learning. Tree skills/hunting > fighting > land hunting. Has experience with easily distracted cats, but will not baby a young apprentice.

    FALCONGAZEmid-casual activity, 1 max
Inexperienced but strict. he's incredibly intelligent and calculating, and will be correcting form from the beginning- the longer he's with this apprentice, however, the longer he'll begin to be able to relax and find a flow to move into. he's well-rounded, not too strong in any one place beyond his vision and climbing. he'll have high expectations but know better then to be too hopeful, and won't tolerate slacking off, or talking back. (just like his previous mentor, however, he'll want to create a genuine relationship with them).

    TAWNYCLAWmid-casual activity, 1 max
When Tawnyclaw decides to take training seriously, he's a very devoted and thoughtful mentor. Observing the traits and talents of his apprentice, Tawnyclaw would mostly use praise and encouragement to guide them down the path of least resistance, easing them into a training style that best suits their needs rather than trying to shove a square brick into a round hole. Although Tawnyclaw isn't afraid to challenge his apprentice to work outside the box, he'll mostly encourage them to find what they love to do and use that to their advantage. Take life by the horns, don't let anyone tell you to do what you don't wanna or be who you don't wanna be!

Of course, there's also a risk that Tawnyclaw can and will just pawn them off to apprentice chores or group training, never one to take things seriously for long. Hopefully having a little life in his paws will help shape him into a proper warrior, though!

    OWLHEARThigh activity, 1 max
Inexperienced in mentoring but is enthusiastic and patient, she's passionate about learning but is otherwise very quiet and a bit of a push over. At the beginning she will rely on mutual trust between herself and her apprentice to figure out what training is best suited for them, tries to aim for a more self guided appretinceship. Letting the apprentice make the choice on what they want to learn and she later on fills in the gaps in an attempt to have a well rounded training experience. Owlheart prefers things like hunting and tree climbing compared to fighting and clan culture but would give a consistent amount of effort in her mentoring for all aspects of being a skyclanner. She has high expectations as a mentor but would struggle to delegate punishments for mishaps due to her being a pushover. Her main goal is to keep her apprentice alive and prepared for being a warrior rather than socialising.

    FLORABREEZEhigh activity, 2 max
Florabreeze as a mentor is one who strives for a close relationship with her apprentice. She will treat her apprentices like an extension of her family, for better or for worse. This influences her training style as she will take on a more nurturing and guardian-like role, as a reflection of this her training will always be personalised for each apprentice, wanting to remain fluid and less rigid in training so that it can grow alongside her apprentice. She will take a gentle approach to being a mentor, only being strict or serious about things when the situation calls for it. She would have a high tolerance for bad behaviour and would try to brush off any resistance to training over time, trying to use unorthodox methods like games and activities surrounding training to make it more engaging. There would be a preference for fighting and climbing as those are the things she personally enjoys.

[ assessment info! placeholder for banner tba ]

A SkyClan warrior assessment will take place around the age of 12 moons, or two moons after joining for adults on probation. Occasionally, a new warrior may be fast-tracked if the leader agrees they are worthy of being named early.

A SkyClan assessment is comprised of three parts, that may be optionally played out:

1. Culture: the warrior code, SkyClan's culture and customs, border awareness and interClan politics, and StarClan.
2. Hunting: Will take place in the trees unless in exceptional circumstances. The apprentice is expected to successfully track and catch a piece of prey.
3. Combat: A one-on-one spar with a warrior. The apprentice is not expected to win depending on opponent, but is expected to hold their own.

Unless we discuss failure beforehand, your character will automatically be assumed to have passed their assessment. To receive a ceremony after passing your assessment, however, your character must qualify for the SkyClan census. Please inform the leader's roleplayer to organise this!

Activity level: Medium, but will be active once she can leave camp most likely!
Age: 5 moons — 6 moons on 05/08/2024
Training style preference: I'm open to anything as long as the mentor's activity level matches. :3 Fluffypaw will be sopping wet and miserable. She will cry all of the time. She will ask for her mama for the first moon of training and be terrible at everything. BUT, depending on your character's mentoring style, is there... is there HOPE for this girl?...

NAME: @GREENEYES
ACTIVITY LEVEL: High (typically ~15-20 posts per month)
TRAINING STYLE: An encouraging and patient mentor, Greeneyes strives to push his apprentices to success, all while forming a close bond with them. He excels most in hunting, with combat in close second. Despite his skill in such has grown since he was assigned his first apprentice, his weakest skill is climbing. With his first apprentice fully-trained and a warrior now, the tom feels more prepared to take on a new apprentice than he had the first time around.
MAX # OF APPRENTICES: One for now, if that's okay! I'll likely change this in a couple of months / if absolutely needed!

Max # of apprentices: Two (only applicable if they're of a similar age/progress, otherwise Silversmoke might suggest a different mentor as to not complicate training).

Training style preference: a mentor that can handle and reign in immaturity and childish behavior. jelly doesnt fully comprehend how dangerous it is to be a warrior, and will still prioritize play and recreation over doing her apprentice tasks. she would preferably have a mentor that isnt so strict that shes adverse to any expectations but one that will gentle parent her into having better impulse and focus
