'CAUSE SOMEWHERE DOWN THE BANK — Bravepaw had tried to play pretend as a medicine cat so Hailstorm had suggested to the apprentice that they did another duty that fell upon him and it would keep his friend's kitten away from Berryheart who was still recovering, it isn't his most favorite duty but it can be rather rewarding when done right. So once he gathers the mouse bile does he motion with a white paw for the chocolate tabby to follow him away from the medicine den and to the elders den, he briefly thinks about how Howlingstar would've been here did she end up living up to a hundred or even himself. The thought of apprentices punished and put at tick duty or even the medicine cat apprentice helping him get rid of the irritating insects that nestled into his plush coat and skin, he flicks his tufted ear dismissing it and focusing on the task before him. He smiles through the stick to the chocolate tabby that had followed him setting it down carefully to explain "At the end of this, the moss has been dipped with mouse bile and we use this to relieve the elders of their ticks."

He wrinkles his snout motioning at it with a snowy paw "It smells awful so try not to breathe it in too much, alright?" He hopes that this is easy to understand and he demonstrates by picking up the stick after a thorough check through an elder's coat and spotting a tick. Once it's in his jaws does he press the mouse bile soaked moss onto the tick soon pulling away after a few seconds and watching the pesky bug fall onto the ground where Hailstorm grabs a nearby stone and uses it to crush the tick, he would've used a claw but he normally didn't like how they popped. "See? Easy enough. After this I'll help you with one of your chores," He offers.

☀ . ° ✦ The offer to do medicine cat chores had been med with loud, excitable agreement without much understanding of what the included. Picking ticks off the elders wasn't a common chore for that he interacted with much, his usual interactions with the elders including bringing them prey and listening to their bits of wisdom.

Bravepaw imagined pulling the ticks from their pelt was much more noble, as it was a duty Hailstorm had taken. Now that it was extended to the rosette he wondered if he would get to learn more of the duties involved from the medicine cat. So he listened with great intent as Hailstorm explained the purpose of the supplies he carried. A moss-tipped stick with an odor hard to ignore even at the distance he sat. His nose wrinkled, wondering if the snowy tom simply had a bad batch of moss but no! This was intentional, meant for the job of pealing away these ticks.

"Uhh... okay..." The boy appeared a bit hesitant now that he understood the chore more. He carefully took the stick between his teeth and nodded his head to Alderfire in polite greeting. The elder in turn purred and allowed Bravepaw to pick through the umber tabby's pelt, struggling to balance the stick between his teeth and keep his focus in his search at the same time.

"Is this a tick?" He asked, words slurred between clenched teeth as he looked to Hailstorm for help.
