FLINT X SOOTSTAR​

A litter born of infidelity. Despite the sins of their parents, they live innocently in the moorland, unaware of their now deceased biological father and the nature of the romance that created them. They were WindClan's very first litter and the first cats to ever be named with the "-kit" suffix. They've been raised within WindClan under the fierce protection of their mother, Sootstar, and since she rules the hills she's not allowed harm to touch their fur.

In present day they are training in WindClan as apprentices.

Weaselclaw is in development to become their adoptive father.
This kit has one NPC sibling that will eventually be adopted out, but we are finalizing details, "Shrikepaw" is the name being used for them ICly until they are adopted out!

They have an aunt on their mother's side named Pebblenose.
They also have a couple half-sibs in ShadowClan :) (They are unaware they exist)

RULES

---

1. We are looking for an active family member! We know posts may fluctuate but TBH looking for someone who can dedicate 10-15 posts a month, more is always awesome.
2. They will start at 6 moons, they become warriors in January at 9 moons. They've been training since they were 3 moons old.
3. They age realistically on the 1st.
4. This is not FCFS and we may take a while to select a chosen application
5. Ideally, they will never leave WindClan, but I'm always open to hearing out plots :)
6. It's highly preferred you use the naming list below, but not needed!! I will probably still equally consider non-list kits, but if its a name Sootstar wouldn't choose I'll let you know
7. This kit has a SET APPEARANCE and free art (valued at about $75 USD if not more). If you drop the kit or it needs to be rehomed, I will get to take back rights to the design
8. Kits will likely take after their mother and end up being similar to her in morals. They don't need to be outright like her OFC! But she raised them to be super religious with StarClan, to be anti-kittypet, anti-skyclan and thunderclan, etc. If you want your kit to take after Soot personality wise, feel free to reference her tags below
9. Kits are required to be close with their mother, odd relationships are fine (Soot's bad at showing affection properly) but they most certainly do not hate each other!
10. Any form is fine to apply, but please make sure to list the basics! Personality, name, plots, etc
11. Must have a discord for easy communication as we have a family group chat!

Blessed with her mothers small size and her fathers pride, Stonepaw would say her beauty is due to her confidence. She wears a seemingly ivory pelt adorned with blue patches, the ones closer to her stomach blended with a subtle silver. Her fur is naturally short, but kept sleek thanks to regular grooming. Her build is thin- stereotypical to the Windclan build, but powerful muscles are often flexed between her shoulder blades. Her narrow eyes are a sharp yellow, comparable to the sun with their saturation. She makes up for her small size by keeping her eyes scrutinizing and her head held high for a more intimidating appearance.

A natural-born solider, Stonepaw excels in her combative studies. She tries to keep an on-track mind, and hardly lets herself indulge in the better parts of life. She idolizes her mother, and takes on many traits from her- but with her own twist. She is intolerant towards those who show blatant disrespect, thinking herself higher than most, but she keeps those thoughts to herself and her sister. She dreams of taking her mothers place one day, proving herself greater than the rest, and striking down those who so much as scoff in her direction.
These thoughts simmer quietly, and at face value she is seemingly just a hard-working apprentice with rough edges. Despite her cold heart, her family means everything to her, though like her mother she has an odd way of showing it, often resorting towards acts of service. It is not uncommon for Stonepaw to be seen dropping a rabbit off for her sibling and mother before getting her own meal, or to take up the front end of a patrol in case an unknown danger lies ahead.

— In her younger days she will idolize her mother, constantly wanting to learn and be around her, as she comes into adulthood however, those feelings could shift from adoration to envy. No longer content being Sootstar's daughter, the growing want to become her, but more ruthless, begins to seethe.
— Subtle issues with authority- especially Weaselclaw. She wants to become close with him, as he seems to care about her and her sibling, but the need for a father figure is overridden by her own cockiness and want for independence. Eventually, she will grow out of this and Weaselclaw may become her confidant and someone she deeply trusts.
— In warriorhood, her ambition becomes her downfall (this is still a wip as it would be one of her biggest plots.)

a scrawny, fluffy blue smoke tom with high white and golden eyes. as a young tom, sootpaw is notably scrawny, appearing as if he could be pushed over by a gust of wind. while he will remain on the leaner side, as sootpaw ages, he will fill out with lithe muscle built for speed. although, his skinny frame is concealed by his thick, fluffy coat, which makes him appear larger than he is. sootpaw is predominantly snow white, with patches of slate blue across his head, back, legs, and tail. the blue is tinted silver the closer it gets to his underside. his owlish eyes are golden, and always observing his surroundings.

intellectual by nature, sootpaw is a hoarder of knowledge. he loves to learn and explore new possibilities, and takes great pride in his knowledge. however, he is known to put himself in harm's way in his pursuit of knowledge. sootpaw seems to lack self-preservation skills entirely when it comes to his innate curiosity.

sootpaw, surprisingly enough, is an avid fan of all things supernatural. he believes in folklore, spirits, and even cryptids, and when the unexplainable happens, he tends to chalk it up to such. this has earned the young boy a reputation among his clanmates as having an overactive imagination, but sootpaw swears that it is insight rather than imagination.

for all of sootpaw's intelligence, the one thing that baffles him the most is relationships. perhaps it is due to his own emotionally unavailable mother, but whether it is nature or nurture, sootpaw is... quite frankly, terrible at making friends. socialization is deemed as unimportant to him, dismissed in favor of far more exciting endeavors. and, when forced to interact with others, he is horribly blunt and emotionally detached. the exception to this, however, is his family. sootstar and his littermate are the only ones sootpaw seems to care about maintaining a relationship with.

APPEARANCE.​

➸ A long-haired, blue cat with high white and twisted front paw.
➸ Oddpaw stands rather shorter compared to his Windclan counterparts, more on the stocky side. He is board-shoulders, or starting to be, with long, flowing blue fur. White adorns in patches across Oddpaws' face, chest and belly with a few strays here and there. They stand about 4 inches tall and weight about 6 lbs, so they are on the heavier side of things. Below the long fur is a rather rounded features with protruding jowels, smaller ears and rounded eyes. His eyes are a soft, setting-sun golden color with flecks of yellow and bits of pink. They also have a flowing, feathery tail and small paws.

MENTALITY.​

➸ As a kit, Oddpaw was rather shy and distant from everyone. Always wanting to stick close to Sootstar and even hide behind her when others came to talk to them. They find their mother to be their best friend as of late and hardly seen talking to the other cats, even now as an apprentice. Oddpaw now less hides behind Sootstar, but nothing will stop him from delcaring he'd tell on someone for doing what he didn't like. He likes to pull the 'my moms leader' card a lot of the time. Oddpaw can be quite snooty and stuck up sometimes, but retains that rather shy and quiet nature. Often the subject of bullying in the apprentices' den due to his rather 'weak' attributes; like being shy and quiet or finding comfort in his mother.

a spindly blue smoke with high white and piercing marmalade eyes. sootpaw's fur is feathery and thin, but softens their joints just a little. no amount of grooming can keep the odd, silly tufts in place. often, their eyes are set in a stare, jaw pressed sternly and brows furrowed in thought or anticipation. their build screams windclanner, with long, bony legs and a fluffy tail that's often swishing behind them in annoyance. very upright at all times, with precise posture that looks stiff puppetry with their long limbs. when they smile, it's impish and fierce.

( + ) responsible, innovative, enthusiastic ( / ) religious, confrontational, justice-oriented ( - ) bellicose, bratty, impatient there is something golden to them; both warm and ice-cold metal. sootpaw is devout to their trainings and maintains a rigid schedule, one that often doesn't allow time for socializing or bullshit. as such, on the rare occasion they get flustered, a surprising streak of shyness comes forth. though they mention having a stone heart, inside they're soft, and they hate it.

they're obsessed with honour and justice, and will do anything to keep the scales equal. often this comes in the form of "duels" (beating eachother up) and sparring. if they lose they're quick to admit defeat, actually, but expects their battle partners to do the same. because of these constant skirmishes, their pain tolerance is incredibly high, and it takes pressure from others to go to the medicine den.

— number 1 sootstar apologist, she'd say jump and soot jr would ask how high. they are super close with their mom & will hopefully be close with shrikepaw. they have some embarrassment over the fact their family is their only source of affection, but would rather attract attention of any kind than form strong relationships.
— to them combat is more of an honour thing than born of anger or malice, naturally sootpaw doesn't explain this in full so they just jump to rough up whoever makes them mad and is in their skill range. usually they try to be on the attacking end but they may get in a lot of trouble for this.
— they push themself to the full limit, anything less than 100% may well be 0% for them. this leads to some self-loathing and feelings of inadequacy when getting injured/sick. it's repressed but they have a deep-rooted longing to be perfect and know exactly what to say and not being able to achieve that rots them. they feel constantly watched by older cats, in their opinion, either to know when they slip up or whether or not they won't live to their mother's potential
— likes reptiles and won't eat a lizard because it makes them sad. they keep a lot of lizard tails/snake sheds out of respect. sort of dull when it comes to dangers from animals, will handle a snake like its a worm
