There was a fresh fallen patch of snow that hadn't been touched by the many petsteps of Shadowclan. A large brown tabby stood out amongst the fallen whiteness of the snow than seemed to crouch down onto the ground with a sway of a thick, feathery tail, and then pounced onto the fresh patch of snow. A low rumble of a laugh came from the older warrior as the snow crunched under paw and puffed up in a fog of cold and ice. The powdery white substance stuck to the underside of the large cats belly and there was a small shake to dislodge chunks that had clung to long hair. Then looked over a broad shoulder at the cats that had been following him, "Nothing beats ruining a fresh patched snow," It was an amused tone from a very low-sounding voice before continuing through the marshes.

Puddle had frozen over and some were turned into slush with the freeze, but still that damp, murky smell still clung to the territory. Something familiar and warm for the large tomcat, a sense of home in a way. Shadowclan was still fairly new but yet so much was going down still with the fire remains still standing as a dark reminder, Pitchstars' paranoid behavior, and the recent skirmish- but yet it never seemed to fail to be home. Before this the brown tabby was on his own, a singular cat that had to fend for themselves and hope that nothing would happen to cause instant death. Here there was a purpose, something to fight for and no real fear of dying outright. Though it still felt iffy on some stances with the cold coming and the lack of prey, but he had faith in things working out.

"So, how are you two feeling?" Addressing the two cats that followed him out into the forest, Boar and Smog. They were both interested in more patrol things and Chilledgaze seemed rather busy with recent circumstances- so it was the least they could do. Espeically with the recent fight at the border and the death of Morningpaw, there was no harm in extra patrols, "Seems recently there is a lot of bad, I hope we could do something good for Chilledgaze and Pitchstar," Tigertooth looked at the other two cats with a wave of his large tail.

@SMOGMAW @BOARJAW

It has been a half-moon since the apparent beginning of Leaf-bare, and the snow scarcely bothers Smogmaw anymore. Frosty white powder sticks to the top of his paws like mud, more of it bonding to his fur with every pawstep he took on the trail of Tigertooth. The senior warrior had beckoned him to keep company on a patrol, and there were no misgivings on the tabby's end about the notion.

"Jaded and cynical as ever," he answers honestly when conversation inevitably emerges. "Hard not to be, when there's prey 'n medicine cats disappearing left, right 'n centre." That's not to say recent events had an impact on the mackerel tabby's overall sentiment; even prior to things going to pieces, Smogmaw was as enthusiastic as an overlooked pebble. If anything, he's more confident in his doubts, and felt quite secure in vocalising them.

A flick of the tail as Tigertooth voices his concerns over Chilledgaze and Pitchstar. "Hope they can do somethin' good for us in return," he retorts, casual with his reservations. "Someone's gotta figure out how we'll pull through this season. Maybe Starlingpaw- err, Starlingheart ought to teach us how to identify herbs 'n the like - helping her means helping everybody."

"Can think of a good few things, actually," comes his rumble. Sure, he knows Tiger's words were likely Rhetorical, but he's hardly one to shut his yap when untruth's were being flung left, right, n' center. A fresh bought of snow was one of the few things that made the marsh look like less of the dump that it was. He almost felt bad ruinin' it, but there were toad's to catch, birds to chase... An the stars knew sinking teeth into that toad would be worth it, and far better of a feeling than bouncin' around in the snow like some tyke.

An in reguards to feelings, he can think of few who would answer with anythin that isn't bad. Leaf-bare in the marshes has never been easy, but combined with the recent departure of the beloved medicine cat... yeesh. Not like she was ever offerin' much to begin wiff, but if that wasn't a blow to the heart, he doesn't know what is. Can't exactly blame Smogmaw, though he doesn't see the use in worrying 'bout this leaf-bare over any other. "Ehhh, survived plenty 'f seasons without sum leaves to chew on. We'll be a'ight." He doesn't have a thing against Starlingpaw. Didn't really against Bonejaw neither, not until recently, anyways. "Starling doesn't know a damn thing about any herbs. Neither did Bonejaw, really. Hope the stars can do the girl's job for 'er."
