Bronzeshine sat by the river, her green eyes staring into the water with a dying ferocity. The incident in camp with Snowkit (and apparently everyone else) had her spending a lot of time here on the shore. The water was warm. Or, at least warmer than usual. It lapped quietly at her paws, and she did nothing to change that for the moment. Her heart felt... hot and tight. Like a weasel was trying to rage it's way through her ribs. Maybe she could burst into flames. That might help.
Then, without hesitation, the warrior sucked in a deep breath and threw herself deep into the slow current. The cool embrace of it winding around her legs and tail, weaving through her fur. She swam just barely enough to keep from being brought downstream. Her lungs ached, and only when it was reflex did she arise from the depths. She pulled herself to the shore, still in the water, but standing at least. Gasping breath beginning to sooth, she allowed herself to think again.
Lakemoon had merely asked her to reword, though if she'd gotten a chance she'd have apologized as well. She truly hadn't meant any harm. Then suddenly everyone was upon her and... she didn't know what to do. She wanted the attention she created, not the attention drawn by unfortunate circumstance. Though lately she hadn't done much to gather any aside from negative. Nonetheless she fled. And now the eyes of her clanmates bored holes in her fur everyday. Whether anyone was still actually thinking about the incident was irrelevant. She decided on apologizing. To who, she hadn't decided. Probably to whoever was first seen.
Bronzeshine turned her gaze back to the water, searching for something to present along with her apology. A blue fish caught her eye, and she caught it swiftly. With the catch firmly grasped within her jaws, she began her torturous trek back to camp. Has this walk ever been longer?
Finally, the still dripping she-cat returned to camp. She scanned the clearing until she found none other than Lakemoon herself. She hesitated. What if she refuses? she wondered briefly. This is ridiculous, just go say you're sorry, she retorted herself. Dragging her paws slightly, she trudged over to the mother. Bronzeshine dropped the fish at her feet, meeting her gaze for only a moment.
"Um, I'm... sorry," she started, "about Snowkit. I didn't mean to, y'know," she gritted out. "Would you... want to share?"
