It threw her off that Sootstar would ask her to lead a patrol through the tunnels. She disliked leading patrols in general, she was not built for one. She barely knew how to lead when the foundation of her being was to follow orders.
But this was an order from Sootstar herself, so Weepingwillow would not argue. Why should she? She was benefitting the clan as a whole by helping continue the tunnels for the surprise attack against the bastardly fish breaths.
There were very few cats that were healthy, and it was not much more than an inconvenience on time. Once the cold of leafbare came, the ground would be harder to dig in, the dirt frozen underneath digging claws. But that is why they must persist. They didn't have time for petty arguments.
Sootstar trusted her with a task, so she bowed her head with respect, and gathered who she could. She knew she would not lead the Windclan tunnelers astray. She had spent the time navigating above ground and underground to estimate where the tunnels would continue on a few days ago. She trusted herself even to be able to navigate to the destination, or at least closer.
The sun was still not at its highest peak, a cool gentle breeze flowing across the lands before they would emerge underground, their sight quickly vanishing as they moved through the tunnels, whiskers flicking and guiding herself as well as the others through the underground maze.
As they approached where the badger fight occured, her fur stood on end, as if expecting another to be there. But there was none, just the faint stench of death clouding her senses.
"Well continue forward here," she began, her tail swaying gently, and her form stiff with anticipation as she slid her claws down the wall they would continue on.
