☆⋅⋆ ── one thing briarpaw was thankful for was the moments left free for sharing tongues amongst clanmates. it was prime time to indulge in gossip without getting behind on her training. as the sun dipped low and camp filled with chatter, the apprentice joined a few others towards the edge of camp to relax.
the apprentices around her gossiped freely, mostly boring. it was all, 'did you hear so and so took two pieces of prey for themselves before the queens were fed?' or 'i heard what's her face spent all day out in the territory and couldn't even find a mouse'. briarpaw flicked an uninterested ear. all day they spent with each other, and yet nobody had a single word worth listening to. their fear to bend the truth in favor of a good story was pitiful. luckily, she could be here to show them that it wasn't such a bad thing.
she scanned the clearing for a target, a victim of sorts if anyone were to childishly take it that way. it was all in good fun. the apprentice spotted a familiar brown pelt as bravepaw walked by, a smirk settling on her maw. "you know how bravepaw was in the medicine cat's den for so long? i heard that he caught a particular liking to mouse bile in there, that gentlestorm spent almost all his time keeping him away from that nasty stuff." her voice was hushed as to not alert the passing apprentice, but her gaze shifted to the apprentices around her to gauge if they were believing falsified words. "since then, i've heard he spends a lot of time with the elders, practically prefers removing ticks over training. it's all just word of mouth, of course, but just thinking of it being true makes me sick."
