SORRELSONG

♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡
"You hunted well," She merps to the apprentice through a squirrel in her maw, her eyes shining with pride. Not pride for an apprentice after a hunt well done, but a fellow cat. She hoped that her words reflected that - though it was likely they didn't.
She had noticed the apprentice some time ago at the clan meeting, she couldn't help but keep an eye on a cat that, really, she had no reason to watch. But she did anyways. Maybe it was pity. Maybe it was a search for someone to help. But weren't those the same thing at the end of the day? Either way, the absence of Sangirapaw at a celebration for a hunt she participated in did not go unnoticed.
"Would you like to share? As a celebration of a good hunt! " It was the same thing Duskpool had said to her when she had made her first hunt, and while Sangirapaw wasn't family, it was the only thing the molly could think to say that didn't sound like she was talking down to the other cat.

↪ OOC: Branching thread from the celebration one! :)

The cinnamon torbie looks up to see a cat approaching her, and it takes her a moment to recognize Sorrelsong. The older molly's approach is marked by a friendly air, although something about it throws the girl off. Sorrelsong begins the conversation by telling her that she hunted well, but the compliment rolls off Sangriapaw's back without sticking. It sounds hollow in the face of everything else. "Thanks," she mutters, but it's clear that her heart isn't in it. Sorrelsong is kind, and is probably only trying to make her feel better. But does the warrior actually care about her successes, or does she just want to ease the tension that's been rolling off Sangria in waves since the clan meeting? Sorrelsong is kind, so maybe she only feels pity toward an undervalued apprentice. "I'm not really hungry. But… sure." A weak smile tugs at her muzzle, and she shuffles her paws a bit closer to the warrior. She supposes it won't hurt to try and be content while her clanmates celebrate.

She settles next to the molly, using her body to shield the younger cat from any wind that seeps into the clearing. Though it's clear the girl is a bit hesitant, Sorrelsong takes no offense. She is hesitant herself. She felt a need to console the apprentice, something deep in her, but now that she was here? What did she say? Was this kindness even seated in a good, kind place? Or pity? Or what? To prove that she was good at talking to people? She thought briefly of Florabreeze, someone sure in herself and kind. And long winded. Oh she had been so jealous of the mollys propensity for questions. She could really use that now.
She takes a bite, tentatively chewing over the prey and any potential words.
"So, how is, how is your apprenticeship going?" That must be a good question right? To ask about her day? Lead somewhere positive? "Must be nice to have the leader as your mentor. She'll certainly teach you how to fight!" It was meant as a self-deprecating joke, but the words felt to jagged for the situation. She almost choked on the prey. "Like uh like how to fight the other clans. Not that you need help- uh. I'm, I'm sorry. I meant to - help. Uhm, can we start over? That was- a mistake. I'm not the best with words-"
Ah now she was babbling. She might as well not of opened her maw at all!

//mobile! I rolled a 1d20 for an interaction. She got a 1 LMAO
