"BECAUSE COWBOY DAN'S A MAJOR PLAYER IN THE COWBOY SCENE"
That battle was a mess, his pelt stung in many places where hopefully no new scars would appear. He dragged his barbed tongue across his pelt, wincing over a particularly sore spot on his flank as his claws dug into the hay-strewn wood of the horseplace, the overgrown doggish tom's appearance almost... suiting in the icy sunlight that filtered through a window. Things finally came to a head, as he assumed they would, and, he had to make his choice. His choice, though, had been made when he lost his eye, when Windclan was called to retreat on a battle unnecessarily fought and Sootstar paraded around like it was a victory before racing off to another, as though she assumed her clanmates were as blessed for that many lives as she was. Nonetheless, he'd been preparing for this. He couldn't stand behind that maddening viper as she hissed and choked her clan, his friends, his son to their deaths over her pride. Still, he took this quiet moment to reflect before he got started on hunting to feed his fellow clanmates.
The sight of seeing many "traitors", though, had made Houndthistle question his own thoughts on them, for he now was in their boat. He'd done what he didn't want to do, fought against the one who ensured his safety, made sure he was fed, but she had broke her end of that silent deal. They weren't safe. The clans were going to kill them or she was, one or the other, and he had severed that loyalty quickly. He finished his grooming, sitting back on his haunches to look out upon the horseplace from the window, his half-tail thumping thoughtfully next to him.

Houndthistle is both an easy one to gain the trust of and impossible to gain the trust of. He'll rarely reveal personal information or be vulnerable-if he's even capable of such things-but he will show trust in his willingness to lay his life down. To gain it, he needs evidence that you're loyal and strong, same as him, otherwise he understands he may one day have to come head to head with you.
