Pigeonpaw didnβt mourn, not like other cats did. He was usually a chipper and friendly young tom and rarely in a poor mood so the shock and aftermath of his fatherβs death still lingered over him like a heavy fog. It was a fresh wound rubbed raw and he didnβt know how to cope. He hated Flamewhisker replacing him, stealing his name - he wondered why Flycatcher didnβt get a kit named after him and bitterly realized she probably didnβt want the reminder with the grief so new, something not given to him or his family. He knew Freckleflame was bothered, he knew Sunshinepaw wasβ¦Rabbitnose, it was hard to say. The one cheerful blue tom hadnβt smiled since. The young apprentice couldnβt stand it. Couldnβt stand existing in a world that kept moving when he felt it needed to stop, it needed to let him grieve without rushing him but life wasnβt like that. Patrols continued, the clan needed to be fed, he had to hear the name βSunkitβ from the nursery now and the mere mention of the word made his stomach twist.
Pigeonpaw liked to think he followed the rules, he didnβt mope around the apprentice den like he wanted, he followed Sparkwing dutifully still, but it hurt. It hurt in ways he couldnβt comprehend. Life had been too kind that the sudden shift in tone left him reeling.
It was any other day when he starred out across the camp, blue eyes unfocused as he lost himself to thought. Not a cat batted an eye as he stood stiffly and made his way to the edge of the camp and slipped out. It was assumed he went to the dirtplace, maybe he was meeting his mentor, maybe he was just looking at something, who could say, but Pigeonpaw didnβt return and as the day turned to night it became apparent he was not present.

- Ooc- Putting Pidge on the backburner for now! His scent trail will end near the Thunderpath! Maybe one day he will return, for now he can have been assumed hit by a monster or taken away!
