Mountainheart led his patrol to the Thunderclan border. The snow clung to his pelt and chilled his paws, but it didn't hamper him any. He knew this would probably be a tense patrol if there were thunderclan cats there, but he was going to do his best to keep things calm and get everyone home safe.

"Alright everyone, you know what to do." He said, then looked to Subarupaw. "This is our border with Thunderclan. You can tell by the different trees. What do you smell?" He asked.

It was his first patrol in a while but it was proving to be a challenging one. There was the shadow of messy politics still hanging over their heads, but now they had foul weather to contend with. Sharpeye felt the growing weight clinging to his pelt as the flakes began to build and he was forced to pause on his route so he could shake it all off.

With that matter dealt with he opted to spread out, slightly away from the rest of the patrol so he could lay down fresh scent markers. He just wanted to get the job done so they could hurry back to the warmth of the camp. Though he kept his wits about him and he found himself casting wary glances back towards the border where ThunderClan's territory lay.

the growing blanket of snow covered the former battlefield with ease. once could almost forget what had happened not too long ago. wary glances and tentative steps proved skyclan had not.

nightbird pushed through snow and remarked borders the same as the opposite patrol, all without sparing her gaze. while changing directions, the smoke briefly caught a glance of the patrol leader. the large tom that she found herself battling with at the skirmish. a pang in her hind leg served as a reminder of that day, she just flicked an ear in annoyance.

before the skirmish, she found herself forcing her jaws open to conversate with thunderclan's ally. now, she made no such attempt. instead of speaking, she idly listened to their conversation, going about her duties as if they weren't even there.

That fight that took place here was still fresh in Thunderclan minds. It wasn’t something that would be forgotten so easily. She was sure there was still some tension in the air. Her heart ached to think this was one of Morningpaw’s last memories. A fight between their two homes. It left a bitter taste on her tongue. But the warrior wanted to make efforts to keep the peace. For Howlpaw and Fireflypaw. Her kin on the other side of the border should never have to fight their previous clanmates. And though she was just a warrior, Hollow Tree would do her best.

The brown feline didn’t want to draw attention to Nightbird. If they didn’t wish to speak to the Skyclanners then she wouldn’t force them. But she’d rather speak now than drown in the silence. Padding towards the patrol, she kept a few tail lengths away from them. Giving them space to carry out their duties. No cat wanted to be out in this cold for longer than they have to.

Giving them a respectful nod, she looks over the Skyclanners. “Skyclan. I do hope everyone is fairing well in this cold.” mostly for her kins sake. Hollow Tree wonders if they will try some small talk or be on their way.

Tiny paws pitter patter after his mentor, his eyes alight with excitement. He's never gone on a patrol before and even though, with his size, it was hard to keep up his spirit was still bright. Mountainheart was a really cool guy and hes thankful that he was chosen as his mentor. “Whats Thunderclan like? Are they cool? Do they sound like thunder? Do they live in the trees-

His blabbering is cut short and he blinks as Mountain asks him what he smells, making him lift his head and scent the air. “Uhm… Thunderclanners…?” he tries sheepishly, looking around at hus patrol before they begin to emerge from the trees. Miss tall Thunderclanner seems really nice! “Hiiiii!!!! We’re doing good! How about you guys?” he calls back, bouncing on his toes.

Taut muscles would move seamlessly under a feathered blue pelt, followed by a swaying plumed tail that twitched rather nervously as a potent smell of SkyClan cats had arrived by their borders. Stormchaser halted, deciphering between SkyClan and two other ThunderClanners by the border. Curiosity pulled at his paws like the currents of a stream, moving him forwards until he appeared out of the underbrush a few fox-lengths from where the patrol had gathered, busy remarking their borders with a fresh scent. Nightbird had already gotten to business refreshing ThunderClan's borders as well, notably not speaking to the patrol but it seemed her predatory gaze never left them.
Tension lay thick in the air like a heavy veil, electricity buzzing through the air as if lightning had threatened to strike them down here. His long whiskers twitched nervously, wondering if a skirmish without words were to break out any moment. He moved effortlessly through the undergrowth, beginning to mark from where he stood while making his way over towards the patrol. Hollow Tree had also appeared through the dead ferns, a tight expression upon her maw but she still tried to make small talk towards the other clan to be polite. Stormchaser glided towards them, bypassing Nightbird with a nod in silent greeting. A bubbling apprentice bounced around on the other side of the border, their eyes beaming with excitement as he greeted Hollow Tree. The Oriental huffed out a small laugh, frost billowing by the front of his nose. Ah—to be young again; although, it hadn't been too long since Stormchaser was a kit himself. But it felt like several seasons ago. Time flowed so quickly sometimes and the brunt of battle and survival toughened him up to be more stoic and cautious. But, seeing Subarupaw with his kit-like admiration sparked a tinge of warmth within his chest. "Hey, kiddo! How do you like the snow so far? Been havin' snow fights with the other apprentices?" He lowered his head to get more eye level with the younger tom, a crooked smile pulling at his lips.
