( ) She pauses every so often as the wind howls above them, causing the very roof to tremble over their heads as they move along the tunnel to the high moor. Cloudedsky flicks an ear back to her patrol, leaving the stones she had carried down beside her. "The sand is shifting some. Everyone be careful and on your guard." Sootstar had mentioned how the roof seemed to be a little shaky before whilst taking Bluepaw out, and she was certainly correct. The sand that now dusted her pelt now lightly showered above them and her heart quickens, moving a paw to check where the previous stones had lay against the walls. This particular stone was still wedged in well within it's crevice, at least.
"Okay, Doverunner and Twigwhisper, I'd like for you to take Shadowpaw and start spreading any clumps of sand to the wall and flooring. Bluepaw, Heatherpaw, and I will begin reinforcing the walls with the stones we've gathered." She pauses briefly, waiting for anyone to interject with an idea before sweeping her tail over her younger sister's pelt, her familiar scent washing over her nose. "Stick close to me, okay? Sootstar wants you to learn how to construct the integrity of the roof today and it is no easy task." She murmurs to the apprentice before turning her nose to the other apprentice she has assigned to herself. "You too, Heatherpaw." She was hopeful that they wouldn't have to spend their whole day under here shoring the roof with sand sprinkling down in their eyes and faces.
If no one had any other suggestions, she moves to feel the soft surface of a stone she had collected, using powerful fore limbs to pull it closer to her before then feeling along the sandy wall for an opening. It is then she scoops out a crevice, careful not to scrape at the earth. "Spread this sand out as thin as you can and then grab that other stone for me." She instructs to either Bluepaw or Heatherpaw, then pushes the stone forwards once she feels the crevice is deep enough that it won't dislodge and places it within it's new rooted spot. One down.

Robinfang hadn't felt well enough that morning to stick with Heatherpaw for the day. Paranoid from all the recent death, the red tabby had assumed the worst for his mentor. That his sickness wasn't something minor that bedrest could solve, but instead more sinister and underestimated. Of course Robinfang had waved off his concerns, saying he was being far too dramatic about a sneeze and cough.

He still had to make himself useful, though, and was happy to have the distraction of Cloudedsky's patrol. The tunnels were no stranger to him now, having already developed the patterns of a tunneler. He felt at ease once the walls closed around him and his abck was no longer exposed to the blanket of open sky.

Heatherpaw looked around while Cloudedsky pointed out the tunnel becoming unstable. He tumbled his stones next to hers, tail-tip flicking over the ground anxiously. Robinfang had warned him well enough the dangers an unsteady tunnel could bring. It could cave-in, leaving cats trapped beneath. It could also effect the moor-runners topside, leaving hidden pockets for them to fall into or trip into injuries. He was determined not to let that happen today.

As Cloudedsky deliberated where and what they were doing he became distracted with rolling the loose sand off his shoulders. His ears turned forward when she said his name, nodding quickly. "Yes ma'am." He pointedly shuffled closer to her, watching as she prodded the packed tunnel walls. At once he followed her instruction, paw pads joining hers as he pushed the sand out against the rest of the surface. His eye twitched as a howling breeze from above sent a trickle of sand between his ears.

"How many will we have to do? Heatherpaw asked curiously, looking down the path that continued into darkness. "Is there a way to tell?"

A brown head would nod in confirmation to the black and white molly's words. It likely went unseen but he wasn't one to usually share words if he could help it. He'd turn to the sound of the trickling sand, attempting to press a paw to the walls to form them but would result in little results. The brown tabby entrusted Doverunner with task of communicating with Shadowpaw, even though it was unspoken.. He didn't have an apprentice for a reason. It made him uncomfortable to think of young felines looking up to him. The tom was certain Sootstar knew that as well and this, never assigned him one. Sand.. A brown paw would shake at the feeling of the grain going between his toes.

Twigwhisper was glad he wasn't on the Shadowclan tunnel patrol. This was more his speed, he wasn't good in conflicts. The tom would stare in the dark with his dim amber orbs at the wall, the sand still trickling against his wishes. What if... A textured, barbed like tongue would rasp over the sandy walls. He had an unexplained theory of adding some sort of moisture to the wall to help it stick. All that was heard from him though was the laps over dry, sandy walls. — tags

"Right..." Shadowpaw exhaled softly as he moved to head over to the designated site that they had been assigned. Naturally he did look to that of Twigwhisper and Doverunner, though he noted how Twigwhisper seemed to avoid talking to him. The apprentice found himself staring for a long moment, and in that time he studied what the tunneller was doing. The thought of licking the sand certainly didn't sit well with him so he opted to avoid copying the action and instead he began to pat at the clump of sand in order to blend them into the walls.
