THE NEXT CHAPTER |☀| moving to the warriors den

WE HAVE YET TO CRASH ✧°.☀ —————————————————————————————
Things had settled at long last, even if the camp still continued to buzz with positive energy. Lightstrike was more than happy to begin his transition to his new den, pawing through his belongings as he frowned at the concept of having to make a new nest.

Even so, it wasn't long before the golden tom was rummaging about in the warrior's den. It was still odd to think that this was his den now, where he would be sleeping until the end of his days. Maybe he would miss the tree stump near the apprentices' den. In fact, the only time he had been in the warriors' den was to drop off moss. Or prank someone.

Lightstrike sniffed about, determining which nest belonged to who and finding a place to call his own. His nest would be on the edge now, he noted somewhat sourly. Even so, he seemed to settle on a spot and plopped himself down, gazing out of the entrance where light filtered through.

It feels strange to finally be sharing a den with his mother again. Little Wolf had helped him pick a good spot, had helped him make his nest the way he liked it, had even helped him find a safe spot to tuck the rock Roeflame had given him away (though he had seen the look in her eyes at the topic he had chosen to ignore it). He had been grateful for her help, though he did feel a little cross at being made to sleep on the outskirts with the other new warriors he knew that in time he would make his way towards the center where the senior warriors slept.

He is making his way into the den after a long day of work, his bones weary and eager for his own nest. Golden eyes fall upon Lightstrike, his newly named friend and he smiles openly. "Well well well" he says, amusement dancing on his features "Fancy seeing you here" He is glad to see that Lightstrike's nest is near to his own and as he settles down into the moss he realizes that he is surrounded by friends, perhaps it wasn't so bad being over here, at least he didn't have to listen to Raccoonstripe snoring in his ear all night!

☀ - WHILST MY HEART STILL BEATS
Ah yes, the fresh wave of youthful new warriors were now filling the warrior den following the ceremonies at the most recent meeting. The dash for spaces were due to happen and sure enough the newly claimed nests would require some fresh bedding. So not wishing to be a rude neighbour Sunnyday made the effort of heading out to fetch some moss from the forest before returning to the den.

As his eyes adjusted to the gloom he spied Lightstrike settling on a new nest, and Burnstorm chatting with him. The older tom drew closer and he set the pile of moss down near the pair before he offered up a small smile. "Welcome to the warriors den, Lightstrike. I've brought some fresh moss, so feel free to use some. And congratulations on becoming a warrior." His praise was genuine, as was his offer of the bedding. Though he remained on edge, not quite knowing how his presence would be taken at times, but it wasn't like they could avoid each other now.

Dipping his head politely, he then moved away to settle into his own nest not far away.

She trots into the den, mouth full of pine needles and tail raised in greeting before she is able to set it to the side to speak unburdened, Sunnyday is offered a brief nod of acknowledgement but is otherwise mostly ignored as she pressed inward to find her brother and shoulder him affectionately, "You didn't escape me for very long!" The tortie point states with a gentle smile, glancing to the nests lining the edge and wondering if she would sound silly by asking where Burnstorm had put his, missing their time in the apprentice den where they were not far from one another. Maybe it would make her sound too much like a kit if she wanted to be close to her brother again, the thought of being looked down upon for such feelings cemented her decision to not bother bringing it up and instead her ice blue eyes glance over to Lightstrike also looking about and considering placement and she taps a paw on the ground thoughtfully, "We should put our nests side by side-so I don't have to have mine next to Mousenose." Though they had come to some begrudging agreement on differing opinions and acceptance she still found the other girl terribly obnoxious and didn't want to be bothered in their new den just as she had not wanted to be bothered in the apprentice den.

While he shuffled about upon his semi-chosen space and figured out whether he actually wanted to claim it, a dark figure loomed above him. "Well well well!" he echoed dramatically, and the warrior laughed. "Fancy seeing you here! I figured you'd have moved to the elder's den by now!"

Lightstrike stood up, bumping shoulders with Burnstorm and grinning. "I was just wondering if I could have your old nest, too." He had chosen to settle close to the larger tom, having missed the nights they spent joking around until another apprentice demanded their silence. They were back on equal footing once more.

Next to enter the den was a familiar ginger tom that had his smile fading, although he only regarded the other tom neutrally when he placed down moss before them. Sunnyday welcomed him, congratulated him. "Thanks," he said simply, only briefly watching the older warrior settle into his own nest.

Fortunately, he didn't have to say anything else. Moonwhisper entered the den, drawing away his attention. The golden warrior's smile returned, watching the siblings greet each other. It wasn't long before the tortie regarded him, her paw tapping the ground thoughtfully. Then came her suggestion to set up her nest next to his. He couldn't help the chuckle he let out at her comment about Mousenose.

"I'd have figured you were gonna get as far from me as possible too! I'm feeling the love right now." He tipped his head to the side and grinned up at her. Lightstrike glanced over to Burnstorm. "You could put it right here," he suggested to her, patting the space in front of him. "Then I can move back. That way we're all neighbors with each other." As if to prove his point, he scooted back a bit, leaving more space by Burnstorm's nest.

Batwing entered not long after Sunnyday. With a bit of trepidation, Batwing realized that.. well, this was going to be different. New scents tickled his nose as he squinted at the slighter dimmer den, stepping inside. Two new warriors, already trying to fit their nests into the den. He swore, it got more nad more crammed each moon. (And that's because it actually did, you know.) Batwing grinned wide, snickering to himself as he moved to his next. Luckily on the other side of the den and in a layer, but he wouldn't have to be bothered by new bodies just yet. He likely wasn't going to be so lucky next moon, anyways.

"That's a lot of planning for somewhere you're just going to sleep in." Batwing called out to them, pushing his nest a bit before laying down on it himself, green optics turning towards them expectantly.
"speech"

Most of the other newly named warrior deign to ignore Sunnyday. Lightstrike says a simple thanks and though Burnstorm glances at the golden tom out of the corner of one eye he does not add anything else. He resists the urge to roll his eyes at him and turns his attention back to his friends. His sister comes into the den, and he would be lying if he said he hadn't missed her. He returns her shoulder bump, a wide grin on his face. "You two really missed my snoring that much huh?" he says with a laugh. Despite his teasing, he truly is glad to be reunited with them.

Lightstrike moves his nest back a little bit, leaving a space for another right next to Burnstorm's own. He is glad that the newly named warrior had done so, he had missed sleeping next to his sister the past moon. They had been together their entire lives, to awaken in the middle of the night or early in the morning and to not see her had felt wrong. "You can have it as long as I get yours" he says to Lightstrike, gesturing to his nest as if to say 'have at it' it was a crudely made nest, nothing truly special save for the pebble he kept underneath it. "You're stuck with me now" he jokes to Moonwhisper, reaching out with a paw to gently push her.

His ears flick when Batwing comments on their nest planning. Had the warrior not done the same when first moving into the warriors den? It makes the ebony tom wonder if he had any friends. With a twitch of his tail he regards him "Of course!" he says, feigning offence "Everyone knows it's the most important part of becoming a warrior!" he says, a smile on his face giving him away. "Besides, if I had to pick who's breathing in my face at night I'd rather it be my sister. Stick with the stink I know ya know?" he glances out the corner of his eyes at the she-cat in question, wondering if she would catch that he had called her breath stinky and if she would retaliate.
