šš¼ Heās missed thisāthe feeling of wind rushing through his fur, the slight burn in his paws each time they slam harshly onto the ground. Heās not had the time nor the energy recently to just get out and run. But now, heās got an apprentice, and his home isnāt his anymore, and the two conflicting feelings of elation and rage are waging war inside him. Something roars, clawing and tearing at his ribcage, desperate to be released, and the only way he can think of to let it out without finding himself seeing his father again isā¦ to slip out of camp early in the morning, refusing to spare a glance at the stranger wearing a clanmateās face who follows after him. He has Bugpaw in tow, of course, because no matter how grumpy sheād been about being awoken before the sun had even begun to rise, this training is beyond important.
Speed is effortless to the cream tabby tom, because at least months of running from every fight he encountered has left him with one useful skill. Bugpaw hasnāt had those same experiences though, so he slows himself somewhat as he rushes through the undergrowth, passing by oak trees both familiar and unfamiliar as he goes. "Come on, gotta pick up the pace," he calls back to his apprentice, glancing at her over his shoulder. Bugpaw may find this cruel to force upon her so early in the morning, but if he waits until later in the day, it will just be entirely miserable to exercise like this. Best to get it over with now, before the sun has risen and heated the territory to an unbearable level. "Better get used to it, tooā¦ Weāll be doing this every day!"
