After speaking to Flamewhisker upon the border, Periwinklebreeze makes the decision to show his apprentice more - there's no need to ruh things, sure, but that doesn't mean he can't take them a bit further - explore more. Still, with Cottonsprigs dissapearance fresh on his mind, it's to shadowclans border he turns to today - etter them, he thinks, then riverclan - no matter that he doesn't particularily care for either clan.

" This is our border with sh-shadowclan - this blackp-path is the thunderpath. Never ever g-g-get too close, and a-always l-listen for rumbling - th-that tells you a monser is c-coming. S-sometimes you can even f-feel it underpaw before you hear it. " he explains quietly, blue eyes glancing across the ath even as muzzle wrinkles against the scent. He wonders who will greet them today - a friendly face? Or one he'd be far less enthusiastic to run into?

// @Vulturepaw

"Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-" The sound reverberated in the back of Ferndance's throat like a purr, her head slowly poking up from the dark grasses on ShadowClan's border. Patrolling the shared border with WindClan was one of her least preferred activities, the other group was cruel, but not in an excusable and quirky way. Instead, it was a way that threatened her family and friends, and though their leaders had changed, their attitudes had not. But a mentor and an apprentice could do little harm, it could even be fun, she figured. The noise continued and continued from the other until eventually, it crescendo'd with a "MMMMMMBANG!" Emerald eyes grew wide with excitement, her ears lay flat upon her skull as her lips contorted back in a silent snarl. It was an expression that lasted less than a moment before she returned to her usual self, politely watching the two, a smile upon her muzzle. "That's the sound a monster makes." She explained to Vulturepaw, noting the other's small size. She wouldn't be surprised if it was their first time ever out of camp - that made it all the more important for her impression to be accurate. Her gaze gently fluttered to Periwinklebreeze for approval.

˖⁺‧₊ ☽◯☾ ₊‧⁺˖ They keep close to Periwinklebreeze's side, as they always do. ShadowClan today, a clan spoken about in hissed tones. Are they like DuskClan, he wonders, or ThunderClan with their courteous greetings? The name does not inspire much confidence.

His dad's words are a quick distraction from the clan itself. "Monster...?" they echo, eyes wide. They scan the horizon, the sprawling river of black stretching across it. It seems as though it goes on forever, this monster-trail. He cannot even begin to imagine the beasts that roam it, so massive and terrible as to shake the very earth on which they walk. Periwinklebreeze's warning is unnecessary; Vulturepaw would never dream of getting anywhere near this thing.

And suddenly, he is wrenched from his thoughts by a booming growl. "Aah - !" The apprentice yelps, skittering away from the border with fur spiking. He narrows his eyes at the ShadowClan cat on the other side, smiling in mock-innocence. "Thh... That's not funny," he spits, tail lashing. She's mocking him, he's sure of it.

Her patience with Ferndance's antics always runs thin- she keeps her maw shut, because she has an inherent love for her clanmates, but still yet, these situations.. she did not favor the jokes the younger warrior played on other clans. Where Ferndance explodes with some kind of fun, Scalejaw takes her time revealing herself fromt he shadows she was so comfortable in.

Vulturepaw's snapback was almost amusing, and thats when she takes the chance to step free. She is yet guarded- these cats come from the clan that didn't question two stolen kits, ones who sat close to Sootstar's rule without question. Her ears are forward and chin lifted, an image of confident- surely, she is striking in image. Feathered fur and sharp edges, a warning, perhaps.

"Less funny and more warning, I think." She agrees in her own way- no, it wasn't funny, because a monster was far louder and far worse to come face to face with. Her eyes shifted away from Vulturepaw's towards Periwinklebreeze, an ear twitching. "A new apprentice, then?" She questions, her voice cool, ice near-melted but never warm. She liked keeping other clans further then friends. It was easier that way.

[ ༻❄༺ ] Ferndance always seemed to have a way with interacting with the other clans, and this was no different. Yet he had not expected the apprentice to react in such a way that made Snowlark snort before moving out of the underbrush to stand next to Scalejaw and Ferndance as his gaze drifted to the windclanners, his stubby tail twitching a bit while he kept a straight face with a slight hum. "Monsters can go off the thunderpath too, saw it happened." the newly made warrior commented before rolling his shoulders slightly.

The apprentice would learn sooner or later as they age about the thunderpath, just as many had before them. As long as they had a good head attached they wouldn't lose their life and Scalejaw was quick to inquire about Periwinklebreeze's new apprentice which made him hum. Seems like the clans were all gaining new apprentices lately, meaning more warriors will eventually be aided into their clan. "Seems like everyone's been getting a lot of new apprentices as of late" he remarked, noting he had seen Thunderclan around with a lot of them as well. Either way, what ever happens would determine if the kid would see warriorhood or not.

જ➶ "I think you can get close to the Thunderpath if you want. But there is always potential that your nose might get squished or you could lose a few toes." Monsters can get quite close to the edge of they want to. If they do then surely something might bet ran over by those big giant black paws of their's. They chuckle to themselves at the thought as they come up to linger just with the other members of their patrol. Eyes focused on the Windclanners only for what time they can spare them. After all they don't have much of an opinion of the other clan so they can treat them with enough niceness. They shift their paws slightly and glance to Snowlark on the new apprentices and for a moment they are thoughtful because they feel the same way. Are the other clans growing that much? It makes them wonder before they allow a small smile to grace their feature. Though it slips off just as quickly. "I suppose it is good to see the other clans surviving. New apprentices mean a lot to a clan."

Loud sounds draw Periwinklebreeze's eyes from his child and across the thunderpath - not quite able to stop the muffled snort that slips past his lips. " It was... a l-little funny, " he corrects, voice filled with affection - perhaps if there had been genuine threat, Peri would've been a bit more upset. Instead, his content mood lingers and he finds humor in the shadowclanners actions - Vulturepaw will need to learn to shed his skittishness eventually, anyways.

Eyes scan the gathering patrol, but none of them are familiar more then in passing. It's both a shame and a relief - it'd have been nice to see one of his fellows, but he is at the very least glad he seems to have avoided a confrontation with that snake-heart. " Yes - it's v-vulturepaws first t-time, " he agrees politely, since scalejaw and the others seem curious. Still, no need to tell them more then that.
