bounceheart ✧ she/her ✧ riverclan warrior (=˃ᆺ˂=)

A patrol had drawn her out of camp. Some cat-call in the day, to bring her out of a haze. When out with others, she was careful of her pace. No one wanted their paws to get stepped on by a quick-footed warrior. Just as today, she often found herself in the back of a patrol; slowing down meant she was doomed for a distraction. They were not far from the WindClan border when she caught a strange smell. The patrol was bygone as she followed the scent into a thicket. It was a sweet scent, she noted as she searched. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary, but the smell was coming from the ground.

As she leaned in for a better sniff, her legs would slide until she was laying, face in what appeared as leaves or mint. The tabby rolled in it, an endless purr now filling the air around her. She had heard of something like this before. Maybe from a medicine cat.. or an elder?

"This is not normal," she hummed. Usually she did not feel this happy - it was almost overwhelming! Bounceheart rolled herself slightly away from the assailant plant, but it was too late as she was already overwhelmed by its.. too positive effects. Now laying upright, she blinked lazily at the.. "Ohhh.. catnip!"

Seeing Bounceheart like this is… odd. It’s almost scary, really, because between the hunt before your at incident and the mouseball incident, she seems like an uptight warrior. But right now she’s strangely relaxed—hazy, even. He’s beginning to regret coming on this patrol; he should have just hidden away in the medicine den and claimed he was too sick to go. Because having to eat another yucky, smelly leaf would be preferable to the she-cat’s behavior that is flipping his world on its head.

Crappiepaw has settled into a crouch a couple tail-lengths away from Bounceheart, bright eyes narrowed. Catnip? What’s that? "What’s wrong with you?" Glancing back at the patrol, they attempt to catch the eye of another clanmate. In a stage whisper they ask, "What’s wrong with her?" Should Beesong be doing something?

She looked at Crappiepaw and then to Bounceheart and then to the plant that she had called catnip.

"I don't....know?" She said, stepping over and giving the catnip an investigating sniff.

Oh.

She soon found herself sitting, gently rubbing her face on the leaves and experiencing a happiness she had never felt before.

She laid right beside Bounceheart, her nose still in a leaf.

"Holy shit."

This catnip stuff was alright. It could stay.

"Stars above..."
Seeing two warriors writhing about on the ground because of a plant smelling rather nice was almost embarrassing to watch. He had half a mind to raise a paw and cover Crappiepaw's eyes so he didn't have to witness this disgraceful behavior. The dark tom moved forward past the apprentice to the plant, dipping his head down to rip it from the ground and get rid of it before it caused anymore uncouth behavior but as he stood there holding it he got a direct blast of the scent from the proximity. Smokethroat clenched his teeth around the stem, eyes widening and ears going flat then pricking upward before he tossed it to the side as if in disgust. "What is that? Catnip?" He'd never come across it before. It was never a thing in two-leg place where the greenery was limited to select places that stray cats didn't often stumble across and he certainly never felt that kind of reaction to a plant before.
"....is this all it does?"

Let it be known, that she was typically not-so uptight. Leaf-bare was a time of tension for her, and she had become a slave to her negative emotions towards it as of late. It brought back unwanted memories of the frigid snow, empty bellies and.. things much worse. Winter was a time of devastation, and as it crept closer she felt more uncertain about their future safety.

Luckily, she had not a thought of the seasons. In fact, her head felt like it was buzzing - Crappiepaw and Redpath's remarks went unheard by the tabby as she focused on another figure approaching behind them. Suddenly, she became hyper-aware of her situation. Her world stopped spinning, and she blinked the stars from her eyes.
'Holy shit.' She nodded her head in silent agreement to the other's expletives.
As Smokethroat ripped the mints from the earth, she gave a sigh. It was both a sigh of relief and a tell-tale of her embarrassment.

"Yeah, what a useless plant." Is this what StarClan cats did in their free-time? Dropped reality-shifting plants into the forests? "I dunno, maybe take another sniff and find out?" She would do it herself, but her body was weighed down by the strange plants.. force?
