It was getting colder... she recognized it in the way Sunshinespot buried his paws under the warmth of her belly in the middle of night. Or the chilly press of a nose in greeting from a clan-mate in the morning. The dens harbor the shivering masses and try to keep them insulated... a bubbled safe haven of warmth to have a reprieve from autumn breezes. It had struck her as the sun rose that she might be able to put her paws to use in a way that didn't involve sniffing after her temperamental siblings or limping along the borders. Escorted with loving attention, the fawn she-cat had summoned up her plan and pushed it towards action; it started with the monotony of gathering moss... asking after those faces that had started their morning with a bird to eat (and asking someone else to pluck them carefully), ripping large fern leaves off of their bushes and the drawn out process of gathering it all back in camp.

The exercise had exhausted her already... and her rounded sides heaved with the effort to catch her breath. "Whewwww.... okay... alright," she huffed, sitting harshly on the churned dirt floors. Golden eyes search the cloudy sky for a moment, trying to settle the sudden wave of queasiness that washes over her and makes her skin run cold. Probably a little too much jostling around... Patching the dens is the easy part... It'll be fine! Staggering back to her feet, the she-cat turns to grab at a particularly dense frond. The taste of its grassy bite is unsettling to her stomach, again, but she chooses to ignore it in favor of dragging it closer to the nursery to be propped up along a wall. Badgerstripe's litter would need it patched up nicely to keep the winter drafts out...

"Do I have it in the right spot? Howlkit likes to hide over here and it smells like he tried to climb this side of the wall..." She steps back to admire the shades of green but ultimately, cannot distinguish what she's added from what was already there (frustratingly). She'd have to rely on another pair of eyes to confirm it. Eagerness inspires quick hobbling and as she bends down to reach for a chunk of moss, the sappy scent that clings to it feels like an assault upon her nose. Why was it so pungent?

Her stomach twists uncomfortably as she reels back, sinking into a crouch to try and wait for it to pass, "One... One second... Uhhhgg.... My stomach's been in knots all morning..."
