It had been a few days since he had come frantic and harried to the edge of Skyclan's territory, been welcomed in by its inhabitants and thoroughly seen to by Dawnglare. 'Medicine cat' they'd called the stringy young tom. Though, that was a few days too long for him to be mulling around in the camp for his liking. Ever his savior, Blazestar had offered him a tour of the territory (he couldn't dare call it home, not yet], and Burr had eagerly pulled himself from his nest, limping alongside the pale leader with all the jitteriness of a cooped up apprentice.

"It has been a long time since I have walked these woods. The trees have grown nearly as much as I have." Many years had gone by since a small tom, barely losing his kitten down, boasted to his siblings that he could climb the highest. It had been ages since he had seen them, seen his parents as well, though he imagined that they had since been put to rest. Somehow....that thought did not ail him nearly as much as it may have others, it rather put him at ease to think his parents could finally sleep after taking care of them all. There was a reason his mother had ignored their housefolk's naming of him in favor of just calling him the burr in her fur.

@BLAZESTAR

SkyClan's territory does not change much in leaf-fall -- leaves do not crunch underpaw as Blazestar walks beside Burr, but pine needles do. The air is redolent with the scent of sap and fir, and there's a brisk bite to the breeze that parts both tom's thick, fluffy pelts. Blazestar is glad to see the older tom is up and walking -- the limp, he's sure, will fade with time. Dawnglare had done well.

He looks at Burr, bemused. "Were you born here, then? In the pine forest?" He finds himself eager to learn more about him. The way he'd materialized at their border, frantic and bleeding and stunned with grief, had left little time for Blazestar to get to know him. "Or were you born in the Twolegplace?"

He nods, warmth seeping from his heart into his bones and voice. "Twolegplace, many, many leafbares ago. I remember coming out here with my siblings, ever the burr in my mother's side. Her problem child, her beloved little troublemaker." Burr explains with a smile weaving into his words for nostalgia of days past. Green eyes flicker over to blue, taking in the other's taller stature, broader size. "Perhaps you did this as well, many moons before you ruled it?"

It is not hard to tell the roots in which Blazestar must've come from. His appearance, though softer than most wild borns, is much more imposing than even the most battle scarred of the clans. Standing as steady as the trees in Skyclan's great wood, there is something almost shining about the leader, or perhaps it is merely his eyes getting to him. However where most would've used this bit from Blaze's past as a point of ridicule, Burr's question comes from a place of shared experiences and comradery. An attempt to adapt to his new situation.
