Who are the Blackguards?
The Blackguards are a group of rogues in the twolegplace who live together and tolerate each other’s presence for protection and security from the many threats within the place. They are a form of enforcement within the area they operate, often protecting lost or neglected cats and distributing resources to those who need it. Though their mission seems kind on the surface, they are cats that demand loyalty from those they save and donations from any outsiders or low-respect members that enter their territory and will resort to violence to see these dues paid.

Culture:
The Blackguards operate under one leader. This leader has no official name and is only known as the ‘Boss’, ‘Leader’, or whatever honourific of power the members prefer to use. The current leader is Viserion, played by Punk. It is less of a clan and more of a collective of individuals with a similar aim, with their ethics and morals differing radically based on the individual.

There are no official ranks other than this, however, members may find themselves with specific roles depending on their skillset that they can take pride in. For example, a member good at scavenging will be recognised as such universally and trusted to find new materials more than other members. Instead of ranks, the group works on respect instead. Respect in the group is earned through physical displays of power (eg. defeating another in a spar, bullying a trespasser) or otherwise assisting the group (eg. expanding their zone of influence, securing a lucrative deal with an outsider).

To those outside of the group, they are either seen as bullies who exploit vulnerable cats, or as a form of enforcement in a place free of Clan influence. Due to the freedom of expression the Blackguards allow, the interaction one has with them is dependent on the cat they meet. One cat may be willing to offer a trade, another may just chase you off of the street for the fun of it.

Territory:
The Blackguard do not have an official territory within the Twolegplace as they do not tend to mark or send patrols for anything other than to gather resources to aid their cause. They can, however, be typically seen roaming the alleys, and tend to congregate around their leader’s dumpster, where most resources are kept and distributed.

The Blackguard do not follow the Warrior Code and is instead a chaotic neutral community that decides on its own code based on the opinions of the majority of its members.

Resources:
Scraps of food (ie. carrion, twoleg food, rats)
Nesting material
Twoleg accessories or toys
Plants (note: Blackguard cats will not know how to use these medicinally)
Themselves (Blackguards may offer to do odd jobs for loners/rogues/kittypets in exchange for resources. Please note that any involvement with the main clans will require leader approval)

Staff Rules regarding Unofficial groups when roleplaying in the Blackguards:
1. No territory changing plots, official events/badges, or plots involving the main clans (unless ran by that clan’s leader) will be allowed.
2. No StarClan interaction. Unofficial clan cats will not go to StarClan unless that cat is taught by a clan cat (ex: Tallstar taught Jake about them so Jake got to go). This is to avoid a bunch of non-clan cats filling up an afterlife that is for clan cats. StarClan will not view these groups as clans as the only accepted clans are the five in the forest.
3. No guide, census, or discord for the group. The discord channel can be used for this just like other loner groups.
4. Group should not expect to have many (if any) interactions with the main clans unless ran by that clan’s leader. Groups won’t be going to Gatherings, either.
5. Overall, staff’s focus won’t be on these groups. They will be considered the same as background loner groups without staff-ran plots or official HPs so that focus can always remain on the site’s purpose: the five main clans.
6. Leaders will not receive nine lives. There will be no medicine cats per the site’s healing rule.
7. Unofficial clans are new territory for us on TT. Therefore, these rules can be edited or added to at any time at staff’s discretion. Changes will always be announced!
