Flurryjump, ever excitable and lively, bounded through the forest. Her fluffy tail trailed behind her like a comet's tail. Today, Flurryjump was focused on something serious, tree climbing training. She had gathered a group of young apprentices and warriors, eager to teach the art of scaling ThunderClan's towering trees.

"Alright, make sure you have a good grip!" Her eyes sparkled with a bit of mischief as she demonstrated how to dig claws into bark, her paws scratching the rough surface with impressive speed.

As she leaped up the nearest tree with ease, Flurryjump called down to the cats below, her voice a mix of excitement and laughter.
"Come on everyone! Keep your balance, and remember, it's all about timing! Oh, and don't forget to leap like you're chasing a squirrel!" She made the task look fun, her small but strong body darting up the trunk with grace, pausing only to check on the cats beneath her.

Flurryjump tried to make the lesson feel like a game.
"Whoever can climb the highest the safest wins a prize!"

Chestnutroot

Can you feel the poetry rotting in your stomach?

It's a game. She thought, the ground below her blurring and shaking. It's a game. It's a game. It's a game. Shaking claws dug into the bark for dear life, her pupils wide and searching for any sort of .... anything to give the molly stability.
She had been excited to learn, especially from Flurryjump who did well living up to her name just as Chestnutroot apprently did. The bark seemed to... unforgiving to jump around with gleeful abandon the way Flurryjump did. Perhaps squrriels climbed because they, too, were crazy? She couldn't help but shiver and yelp as a breeze rushed by the branch giving and shaking in the wind.
"Yeah... so easy..." She muttered to the cat next to her, an overly joyful smile streched over her face painfully, as if hiding from the problem would suddenly make her great a climbing. How do Sky clan cats do this?!

Meadowfur stood at the base of the tree, green eyes squinting upward at the chaos unfolding in the canopy above.

Flurryjump's voice rang through the branches, bright and breathless, echoing down like birdsong as their clanmates scrambled after her. Bark scattered from clawmarks above, and every now and then a leaf fluttered to the ground and landed squarely on her head. She gave it a sharp shake and sighed, tail flicking behind her.

"You all look like squirrels with a death wish," she called up, half amused, half exasperated. "I hope whatever prize Flurryjump's offering is worth a twisted leg." She stepped lightly around a few fallen bits of moss and bark, looking up just in time to see one of the younger cats flinch as a branch swayed in the breeze "Don't worry," she added dryly, "the trees only throw you off if they don't like you."

A soft chuckle escaped her, but she stayed firmly on the ground. The thought of leaping onto the trunk made her shoulders itch. She'd never liked climbing—never liked the feeling of empty space beneath her paws, or the way branches shifted underfoot like they might give way at any moment.

She looked up toward Flurryjump again, shading her eyes with a paw. "You know, I'd make an excellent prize judge from down here," she called, half-joking. "Nice and safe. I can even call out when someone makes it to the top." Her voice held a teasing edge, but there was a flicker of warmth in her gaze as she watched the patrol test their claws against the bark. As much as she disliked the task, she couldn't deny it was good training. Even if she'd rather admire it from the safety of solid ground.

She sat neatly near the trunk, tail curled around her paws, eyes tracking each clumsy scramble and confident leap with interest. "If anyone falls, I'll catch you," she added with a smirk, "or at least point and say I told you so."
