It was rare for Kaede to be out and about ( not hunting ), enjoying the company of his fellow felines. His mind felt … serene. It was weird; weirder than seeing him smile.
Shaking his helm, Kaede nuzzled a patch of colorful flowers, nose crinkling, holding back a sneeze as he gathered them in his maw, tail shivering. Sunny would like these. He always enjoyed finding things that reminded him of the others. Even if he rarely felt happiness himself, Kaede liked to make others feel special.
Kaede hummed around the stems, coming up beside the other with silent paw steps, tail flickering as he set the flowers near, nudging them with his nose. “For you.” He’d offer, darkened lips tilted in a wobbly, thin-lipped smile. Smiling is good, right? Did I do it right? I made sure to keep my teeth hidden. this time. He almost scared one of the kits half-to-death while he was practicing, wincing at the odd memory.
