A lovely day. For him, at least. As soon as the sun rose, Dovahkiinwing had slipped out of his twolegs' yard, into the forest, and hunted on his way to camp. Nothing could ruin this day! In his eyes. He plopped his catch down into the freshkill pile - a nice robin. Now, now here came the fun part.

One would see the black tom almost running around camp, trying to find anyone to talk to about his latest tale. Most, used to his antics by this point, simply shrugged him off. Eventually, he got tired of it. Almost panting, and very obviously having been jogging around, so he was also slightly tired, he just kinda sat in a corner by himself. His ears flattened. He was really hoping someone would listen to him this time, instead of making excuses like being assigned to the latest hunting patrol, or needing to find something. Anything. And then, his ears perked up when he heard footsteps. Haha! Finally, this might be someone who he could rope into listening. "Hey, hey!" The Daylight Warrior began with a spring in his voice, turning his head to whoever arrived. "Did I tell you about the new pet my twolegs got? it's some sort of weird bird but oh man is it angry all the time! I heard it was called a chicken." Dovahkiinwing had the goofiest smile on his face saying that.

Howlfire had seen the younger tom rushing around camp, though had been unable to discern why he was bouncing around with such energy. Despite her confusion, she felt envious for his energy too, wishing she had the same to spare.

She had only been hoping to walk past and grab herself something from the fresh kill pile when Dovahkiinwing turned on her and caught her in a conversation. "Hello, Dov-" Howlfire began to say, before her words were interrupted by his rambling. She listened quietly as he told her about a new pet his twolegs had, a kind of bird called a chicken, that was apparently very angry. "What's it look like?" Howlfire asked, genuinely curious.

SORRELSONG

♥ ♥ ♥ ♡ ♡
She'd seen him around camp a few times - or rather heard - but he'd always caught her eye. When Sorrelsong had joined, it took so much effort to speak. It was something she still struggled with, and frankly she wasn't sure if she'd ever be able to speak as much as Dovahkiinwing did. That wasn't to say she disliked how much he talked - rather she admired it. Words fell from his maw like water, though no one seemed to really chat with him, which was a shame and a fear of hers. A warrior was a fighter - and while Sorrelsong's claws were dull she wanted her tongue to be sharp and so she sought him out to fight their shared fears.
"Hi-H," She started to call, padding over from the warrior's den upon seeing him. Nice catch. She wanted to recite, having practiced the greeting during her own hunt but the words die in her throat as Howlfire talks instead. She doesn't wish to be rude, so she electes to mutely nod, encouraging the tom on.

↪ OOC:

Finally! Someone stopped and gave him the time of day. His ears lowered briefly upon realizing that he had interrupted the chocolate torbie. "Sorry, sorry! I did not mean to interrupt you," Dovahkiinwing's voice was slightly loud. He damn near jumped up to tell her all about the chicken.

That was, until, Sorrelsong arrived. He whipped his head over at a speed that looked like it may have cracked his neck, but thankfully, it didn't. "Oh, hello! I can tell you about the chicken too!" Dovahkiinwing stated, a grin plastered across his face as he moved from laying to sitting.

His chocolate hues glanced from Howlfire to Sorrelsong. "So a chicken is this bird, but it can't fly! They're pretty big for a bird, too. It's white, and it has a small but really sharp beak! Oh, and it has claws like us. But it was so upset upon seeing me that it just chased me everywhere yesterday, it tried to get its claws in me and it was nearly successful! Fast little thing." Dovahkiinwing just rambled and rambled. And rambled some more.
