The older warrior emerged into camp with a mouse clamped between his jaws, carrying it toward the freshkill pile, still morning, but Duskpool hadn’t bothered to rest, instead finding something to preoccupy his mind until the morning sun. His gaze slid to Chili, another new recruiter, naïve and curious, but with recent events, well, Duskpool ain’t so sure about being entirely naïve.

Clan life was brutal and challenging, but above all else, it took enough resilience to return to this life, to the clan and that was enough for him to respect the Daylight warriors. He breathed, slow and steady, burning molten narrowing. “Come on, kid. I’ll take ya out to see some of the territory—” He began, tired, but thankful to clutch onto something else productive, wooly tail flickering against the cold ground, helm jerking toward the camp’s entrance. “And whatever questions ya still got in that head of yers.” He finished, pivoting on enormous paws, the scared warrior headed toward the camp entrance, slipping out with muffled ease, mangled ears angled forward.

“I’ll take ya to the east of camp n' show ya the Rockpile, might even get lucky and catch somethin’.” He rumbled, glancing at the other through his peripheral, keeping the other where he could see her given his other was nothin’ more than muddled shadows like washed-out watercolors, nothing but monochrome.

-ˋˏ ༻☽༺ ˎˊ- Chili's first day amongst SkyClan's ranks were not quite what she had expected. Adventurous and fun, sure, full of wonders and things to learn - but after Blazestar died and Bobbie returned home terribly injured, her mind very quickly took to the negatives.

Always an optimist, in any normal situation, Chili would have looked to the bright side and moved on. But there was nothing normal about this, at least by her pampered standards. She had never seen a cat so scarred and defeated as Bobbie, with her wounds dressed but painfully obvious. Unbeknownst to her, Chili was strikingly lucky to have not been present when the couples' wounds were fresh. She had yet to know true terror.

All that said, it took her a large sum of confidence to return to SkyClan this morning, to leave the confines of her safe home after all she'd witnessed. On the edge of the fence, she had a choice to make: return to SkyClan for another day, or stay home and give it all up. Soon, with the rising sun, the other daylight warriors began their trek into the forest - and after a brief moment of hesitation, Chili followed.

Her appetite was small as she sat near the fresh-kill pile, staring down at it as if willing her hunger to return. It was only a gruff voice that snapped her back to reality, and her startled head raised to meet eyes with one of SkyClan's warriors - Duskpool, if she recalled correctly. An offer to take her out of camp was met with hesitation, but with a gradual nod of her head as she rose to her paws and followed the obsidian-furred tom out of camp.

Her first question, as soon as they left, was blurted out uncertainly. "Will we get attacked like Blazestar and Bobbie?" The molly's voice wavered for a moment at the mere thought. Would Duskpool take her out if there were dangers? What did attack Blazestar and Bobbie? His openness to questions gave her some comfort, knowing that hopefully, she wouldn't be left in the dark. "Speaking of which, what attacked them anyway? Why did Blazestar die? I heard from someone that leaders get nine lives from.. silverpelt, or something." There was another matter - what was the whole deal about silverpelt and StarClan? Everyone seemed to know everything about it, but she'd never heard it in Twolegplace.

Rockpile. A pile of rocks - must be special if it got a special name. As the two walked further away from the camp, her thoughts and worries seemed to melt away, revealing the true wonder and curiosity of her eyes that has been dormant since the incident. "It's pretty out here," she commented. "Even without the leaves." Chili could only wonder how lively SkyClan looked without all the snow and cold. "How.. big is SkyClan territory? Will we be out for long?" Another hint of worry edged her voice, but the urge to conversate and learn was stronger.

Not too far from the pair was Fireflypaw himself, sniffing around the snow in an attempt to find some familiar herbs that could help Dawnglare and himself. His tail twitches as he pulls rotted roots from the ground, frowning at his loss of discovery. What used to be a marigold plant now hung limply in his jaws, dead.

It wasn't until Duskpool and Chili began to talk back and forth does Fireflypaw lift his head from the snow, shaking the white powder from his ears with a smile. He turns in the direction of the voices, before clumsily marching through the snow and over to them. He rounds Duskpool's side, tail brushing up against his ribs in greeting to make sure he was facing the right direction. "This one talks a lot. Eager one, you've got, Duskpool." The tom chuckled, his tone deep yet raspy from the cold. "Mind if I watch you hunt? I'll be on my way back to camp soon, before Dawnglare scolds me for slacking off on errands."
