The two of them had been much akin to parallel lines, running along the same plane but never meeting, never quite getting beyond a few spared glances while absorbed in separate parts of the same conversation. Of course, there probably wasn't a single Skyclanner who had been around more than a week who didn't know of the medicine cats' abstanation of anything green. For Dawnglare in particular, this included the 'witch's' child, Greenpaw. She had pitied him when she was smaller, before she had really known what everything meant. Now she only felt a bit of a kindred spirit for the tom who seemed to want to love both Mother and the Stars, despite what had been said of his name.

"Greenpaw?" She comes up after seeing that the other has finished the vast majority of his meal, one ear pricked towards the medicine den on the other side of the camp. "Do you maybe want to head out for a bit? I know we're not close or anything but Fi seems to enjoy your company a lot..'n I kinda wanted to maybe see the forest from an apprentice's eyes instead of a warrior's." It is...possibly the poorest excuse ever for wanting to get to know someone, but since the two of them hadn't been put on any patrols together just yet, she didn't really know how else to go about it.

Mushroompaw is generally a bleeding heart of an apprentice, and combined with her suspetibility to stress, causes her to be a little more on the numb side of things now that she's an apprentice. Though she tries to be kind and bubbly to everyone she meets, the comfortable hyperactive chaos that was once given to Skyclan's members has dwindled severely in recent weeks, culminating with her apprentice ceremony not long ago. Currently she's struggling to figure out if her friendships and familial figures are worth staying in the clans for, or if she's better off refusing a life of war for one of peace.

A friend of a friend, Greenpaw has made note to himself to keep watch of the younger apprentice.

He thinks Mushroompaw needs a friend in the apprentice den. A support system, if you will. Though their paths haven't crossed all that often, he feels it's the least he can do. After all, the kid was thrown into apprenticeship by herself, a tumultuous scene that left Greenpaw - and everyone else, he's certain - worried for Firefly's friend. And, well, she didn't quite have the pointed medicine apprentice to keep watch, did she? Busy he was, Fireflypaw - a fact that the orange tom is well aware of himself.

He can't get too close to the apprentice den, after all. A move to wait for the High Priest's student to leave the den is what's typical of him, a curse settled in his paws that is bound to infect what lies within the medicine den with a single misstep.

Whether this is for Dawnglare's sake, for Fireflypaw's, or even his own, is still up in the air. For the stars, or for Mother - that he has yet to truly learn.

Greenpaw lounges off to the side of camp with a meal before him. A much-needed, much-deserved one, for the work he's already done today. He's just about finished with it when he hears his name - a move to lick some stuck-up fur on his chest interrupted by the voice. Bright eyes blink, half expecting to look up to find Firefly, only to spot the smaller, honey-furred form instead.

"Oh," he sits up, paws stretching outwards, "Hi, Mushroompaw! What's up?"

Ginger ears twitch as the freckle-faced tom listens to her request to go on a walk. Fi seems to enjoy your company a lot, she adds on - a bit of information he stores away with a small smile. He's glad to hear that, but he keeps his focus on the young apprentice instead. She wants to see the forest from an apprentice's point of view.

And, though he's not too certain Sheepcurl will be too keen on him wandering off without a warrior to accompany him, he's just moons away from being a warrior himself. So, they should be fine, right?

"Yeah, sure!" he tells her, crooked tail thumping against the ground. "Anywhere you want to go?" He moves to stand now, to head out on their walk. He tries to think of some of his favorite places in the meantime - good hunting areas, and good trees to practice climbing on. Places that will only make Mushroompaw's apprenticeship easier for her.
