Brackenpaw can't sleep, they're finding this to become a frustratingly common occurrence as the nights grow colder. She can't blame it being because she's being worked too hard because despite Scorchstar's best efforts they shrug off as much as they can. The bitter chill comes with the night sky once more, as they toss and turn in their nest underneath that comforting blanket of stars she finds herself restless. The stars are only a metaphorical blanket, the moss of their nest can't insulate them against a particularly ghastly gust of wind. With a huff of frustration she tucks white fore limbs out in front of her, stretching as they can feel their body wake up again.

How long would it be now until they wake up to be buried in snow? It felt like that could happen any day now. Though she supposes they can concede to just being particularly bitter, not as bitter as the weather of course. Blearily they blink one eye open, staring out across their clanmates in the dim light as they feel themself waking up. Lifting her head up she finds her gaze falling on Puddlepaw, who also seemed to be awake right now. Wherever it be because of the weather, someones snoring or another factor that she's not considering.

It's not their business though, so she decides to not pry right this second. There's a glimpse of fondness in her expression as she notices one half of their matching stones nestled beside her nest, they hadn't caught up recently, have they? Wordlessly she gestures for her friend to follow them, she wasn't going to sleep any time soon so she figured to make it an excuse to go stargazing. They tuck into one of the less populated areas of camp, a difficult task given how many of them sleep out in the open space but they figured if they spoke quietly enough that wouldn't be a big deal.

"It's strange, do you think any of the other clans experience this?" She asks suddenly, voice croaky from unused vocal chords. They should be sleeping after all, though they guess not everyone can be so lucky. "I bet the trees in ThunderClan or SkyClan cover the sky too much" that's what made WindClan special, right? That innate connection with the stars, she assumed that was because they don't have anything to obscure the skies while in the moors.

"It's kinda like the tunnels... except not so smelly... or cramped" now that they thought about the comparison she made kind of sucks actually. Hopefully Puddlepaw wouldn't think of her as lame for that.

Sleep comes as easily as it leaves Puddlepaw - that is to say, her dram are jsut as prone to their own whims as the girl herself is. Sometimes, it's easy enough to drift off - sometimes when she really shouldn't, like when she's supposed to be cleaning the elders of ticks or helping her mentor sit night-watch (for learning experience, they say!) But jsu as often, she lays there and drifts, mind wandering as throat hums a faint, mournful tune she's never actually known the words too - if it even has any.

Eyes flick to Brackenpaw when they motion, blinking slowly - before legs finally push against the grass, hauling pointed frame to her paws as she follows. She doesn't speak, not at first - and theres no need too really, the tilt of her head and the way she simply flops down beside her friend making it clear she's listening.

' do you think any of the other clans experience this? ' - its a good question, and puddlepaw likes the challenge of it as she thinks - eyes unfocused. " Maybe Riverclan? " she says as she wriggles about, limbs stretching as she tries to get comfortable. " It wasn't too shadowed by trees " at least, she thnks it wasn't. It's been so long now that memories blur, but she swears that she'd still seen the stars from that beech copse.

Head bounces in agreement, giggling before she can stop herself - and receiving a rather violent glare from a nearby warrior, not that that keeps her from speaking again in hushed tones. " Nu-uh~ have you smelled the other clans? They're just as stinky as the worst tunnel, " Not that it'd kept Puddlepaw from making friends with the strange apprentice she'd met at the gathering - or, sort of friends, anyways.
