Her claws gripped into the moss, the pain in her paw mostly subsided from the herbs gentlestorm provided, one paw gently kneading into her nest in distress and her ears flattened against her head.

Flashing lights, her body tumbling, the pain searing through her body- two leg hands, thunder.

Her breaths were even, green eyes closed, trying to break her thoughts. Trying to think of picking flowers with Tansyshine, hunting with badgerpaw, playing with emberpaw.

But the scent of iron hit her nose, the bodies, the blood, the cage-

A quiet gasp escaped her, fighting the tears of the recent day and moons. A constant battle in the girl, no solace. Blood spattered over her from the gray warrior, her claws digging into his neck desperately.

No.

The serenity of dotting clouds against a blue sky, the sun high but beaming warmth onto their bodies as they played. Her form cuddled against her friends. Her family.

A familiar scent hit her nose, and it broke the fighting trance, eyes watering a bit and a toothy grin forming across her face. "Mama!" Her boney spindly form would push herself up from her nest, wincing, before pushing her face into her mother's chest. "I-i missed you so much mama." I thought I would never see any of you again.

Word spreads quick in the aftermath of the war. Tansyshine had licked the blood from her muzzle where she had injured a loyalist, convinced that the wounds she gave would be fatal. She had been ready to return to the nursery to comfort her foster children until she had heard gossip. It pertained a cat with an achingly familiar pelt, and once the name comes up, Tansy is sure of who it is. She sets off immediately.

When she finds her, she pushes in with little to no regard for anyone else, dead-set on one thing: her daughter.

There she lays, in a nest, face screwed up and claws digging in to her nest. Once she notices, once her eyes fly open, she speaks in a voice that Tansy thought she'd never be able to hear again. Mama! It's enough for mist to gather in her eyes, rushing over to meet her baby at her nest. Tigerpaw pushes her face in to her chest and proclaims she missed her, Tansys heart breaks just a little bit further. "Shh, shh, my darling. I've got you." her voice cracks and splinters like the breaking of a branch, leaning her head down to rest on top of her daughters. "I missed you too." Tansyshine holds a place in her heart for all of her children, her pride and joy, and when one disappears they take the chunk they hold with them. Now, Tigerpaw was back, her daughter was back, oh Stars, she never wants to let go.

"Lay back down," she instructs gently, knowing how important rest would be to a body that needed it. "I'm here. You're okay. I'm here," she draws a comforting tongue over Tigerpaws head, feeling the familiar rise of bile in her throat, the familiar urge to scream to the Stars and demand why they would let this happen. She sucks in a shuddering breath, pulling back for just a moment.

Tigerpaw is bloodied and battered. She makes a sound akin to a choked sob, paws coming to cradle Tigers face. "My brave little warrior," her voice shakes, a storm cloud of emotions in her chest. Grief, sadness, despair, flaring anger that she hasn't felt since her spitfire days of being a warrior. "Who did this to you? Who...?" her lip quivers as she has to suck in another breath as to not start crying in front of her. "I'll kill them." she whispers, voice full of such conviction that it partly scares her. Never-mind the fact that the cat in question is probably already dead.

Scars littered the girls body, and she wanted to tell her mother everything that occured in the few months she was gone- the monster that hit her on the Thunderpath, the two legs hands all over her, the numbness of her body-

But her breaths turned to quiet sobs, her body shaking as she slowly laid down guided by her mother- orange and brown tortie paws gripping around Tansyshine as she listened to her calming words, and her heartbeat.

Her wrist throbbed with pain as she bent it around tansy- but it was easy to ignore. It was nothing compared to the joy of seeing her mother again. but anger welled in the other, in a hushed tone. "A monster- a while ago, and, and F-flamenose," she barely managed. "wildheart- he, he killed him, he saved me from dying mama. I was- am still so so scared." Her words were broken by shaky breaths and sobs she tried and tried to hold back. "P-please don't leave yet, I need- need someone, need you, mama. Its- it's been so long."

Her grip was a little tighter, as if she may leave her side in her anger, but tigerpaw knew it wasn't at the apprentice she was angry at. Her body was sore, her mind was racing, and she couldn't find herself to pull away from her chest. Shaky uneven breaths- inhale, exhale, until she could find herself to speak more- to further explain like she wanted. Her ears folded back in the fear she felt, her tail curling around her scarred side against the nest as she took her good paw to the ground to support herself as she pulled away, tears having wet down her face and neck fur. "T-twolegs are so- scary, big- th-they kept me away- in a c-cage after- I got hit by the m-monster. I escaped. I got free. And- and I tried to come back- Flamewhisker, wildheart- more, they t-told me to run. It wasn't safe- oh I was so worried about you guys. I'm- so glad, so glad you're alive."
