WindClan Ex-HPR Angst-Heartbreak Litter​

Their Story​

Throughout WindClan, it is known that Hyacinthbreath is head over heels for her long-time mate Lavenderstorm. Together, they are known as quite the femme fatale couple, one which those in WindClan would never guess would break apart anytime soon. With their strong bond, they had decided that having kits was their next goal. They wanted a family badly, and so Lavender went to WindClan's newly appointed Deputy to ask if he would be their surrogate. When that fails, the couple begins to drift apart; but not at their own will, as Lavenderstorm had decided to take a short break to gather herself. During this time, Hyacinthbreath is left by her lonesome for days at a time- and her grief is soothed by the company of her friend Moonshadow. This night of comfort soon turns into an affair that Hyacinth is determined to bury and move on from, but her plans to avoid the molly is disrupted by news that Moonshadow was pregnant with her kits.

Kits which aren't biologically Lavenderstorm's.

The very thought of such a secret getting out terrifies Hyacinthbreath, and she begs Moonshadow to keep the kits' sire a secret until she can talk to Lavenderstorm about what happened between them. However, her plan goes awry when a rumor gets out that Hyacinth might just be the biological sire of the new WindClan kits.

Now, with the lapse of time, these kits are in WindClan alone with no mothers around and only their clanmates to keep them company. After Hyacinthbreath swore to her children they would never be able to see her again at the borders (and only at Gatherings), these kits are left to fend for themselves now that they are old enough to do so. ​


Rules
1.) This litter is not first-come first-serve unless there is just enough applications to fill all slots by the time the deadline is met. The deadline is set for 4/15/23. Extensions will be made if not enough people apply, or by request.
2.) While there is no set form to apply with, we will pick candidates that show serious interest in wanting to play a kit first.
3.) This litter will follow realistic genetics, but stylized designs based off of the genetics given are accepted as well.
4.) These kits must stay in WindClan until they are Warriors, and must stay active. If you wish to drop the kit you're playing, then please inform @/saeyoung so we can re-adopt the kit. These kits are not death fodder, so do not kill them off if you grow bored of playing them.
5.) With the circumstances of their birth, it is up to you to decide if you'd like your kit to hate Hyacinthbreath or not for leaving them in WindClan. It was their decision to stay, but they are children and we expect them to be a bit upset anyhow.
6.) These kits are 10 months old, and apprentices of WindClan.

Genetics
Sire: SH blue spotted tabby w/ high white (carrying longhair, solid, colorpoint)
Dam: LH black smoke w/ low white (carrying colorpoint, non-silver, dilute)

Kits can be black, black smoke, black tabby, silver tabby, seal point, smoke point, lynx point, silver lynx point, blue, blue smoke, blue tabby, blue silver tabby, blue point, blue smoke point, blue lynx point, or blue silver lynx point.
- Kits can be longhaired or shorthaired
- Kits may have low white or high white
- Tabbies will display spotted pattern
- Non-pointed kits may have any realistic eye color; pointed kits will have blue eyes
- shorthaired kits will carry longhaired; tabby kits will carry solid; non-pointed kits may or may not carry colorpoint; non-dilute kits will carry dilute

Relations
Hyacinthbreath and Moonshadow are both Gen 1, making the litter Gen 2.
Hyacinthbreath was previously a Lead Warrior of WindClan, and Moonshadow is a Warrior of WindClan. Hyacinthbreath is now a Warrior of RiverClan.

Naming
While there is no mandatory naming theme, Moonshadow would most likely give her children a serene or elegant-sounding name. They will take on the -kit suffix when they are born, and will use -paw suffix when they become apprentices- with their traditional warrior names being given when the time comes.

Examples of some prefixes she'd name her kits are Wisteria, Cypress, Sycamore, Hummingbird, Almond, Lilac, Nightingale, Guppy, Sand, Tumble, Crow, Dove, Iris, Mint, Hiccup.

It is not mandatory to pick one of the names above, but those are some ideas.

nightingale had been born a little ball of mostly silver-grey fur, with legs too long and ears too tall. although she's since grown into her own image, as a kitten she looked rather silly. as a result she's never fully appreciated her appearance. that appreciation has since dimmed further, with recent events painting hyacinthbreath in a horrid light. nightingale knows that she's not a one-for-one copy of the riverclan femme, however simply sharing the other's face shape and partial fur color is enough for her to fear others looking to her, next.

nightingale is hardly ever outwardly detrimental towards herself, despite her worries, however she doesn't exactly take care of herself, either. her fur can often be seen messy and unkempt, and she lets scratches scar over, unwilling to approach the medicine cat when she's injured.

as previously stated, nightingale often finds herself the worrying sort. her family has gone through so much, with her lineage being called into question properly at birth to the recent murder and subsequent raids on her mother's home, among what feels like a dozen other things - the silver tabby often feels she has no space but to worry. she's hardly headstrong, more often following the flow of windclan simply so that she's not scrutinized for the shortcomings of others. and, inevitably, herself.

although careful-minded and anxious, nightingale is not incompetent by any means. up until the greencough pandemic, she worked hard in her apprenticeship. she finds that keeping her nose to the grindstone keeps her out of trouble just the same - sootstar and her dogs can't claim her insubordinate if she's constantly working, right? the illness that swept the clan slowed her down considerably, however being unknowingly determined and hardworking, nightingale had no issue continuing her training once she was cleared to again.

— unfortunately the illness that swept the clans throughout leafbare - the same one that took her brother - attempted to take her, too. she struggled through the months with little medicine and only the support of her last surviving brother, and eventually made it through on the other side. this would set her back, normally, however as soon as she was cleared to train again, nightingale worked harder than before, just so that she could receive her warrior name at the same time as periwinklepaw.
— due to barely surviving greencough, nightingale struggles furthermore with speaking. her voice comes across raspy and sometimes, on bad days, pains her. she opts to speak succinctly if at all - which is of no issue to her, given she's not necessarily a vocal cat in any capacity. will likely get a vocal name to highlight her inability to properly speak, but will wear the name with every drop of pride she has regardless.
— nightingale does hold hyacinthbreath in dubious light. she doesn't think she could leave windclan for riverclan, especially at the height of tension, however she does wish that their family had stayed together instead of splitting up like it had. she doesn't entirely blame hyacinth for this though. when questioned about her riverclan-bound mother, nightingale will more often respond despondently, unwilling to show emotion in fear of getting ousted.

— Standing at about 8 inches tall, Guppypaw is rather large and rounded in her size. She has a rounded head and pointed ears with a more flat skull, and she has these rounded purple-blue eyes. Weighin in at about 7 lbs, Guppypaw is rather slim for their size. They have lithe shoulders, smaller paws and a feathery tail that sticks out behind them. Theyre a beautiful, deep smokey black color and have white across their chest, tail tip and over their back as well.

Guppypaw though is a very loyal cat and loves to help out when they can around camp, but theyre petrified of the tunnels. Though you'd never hear them say that outloud. Bold and brash, they tend to make a fool of themselves with their black and white thinking. Guppypaw is also prone to aggressive outbursts as well, they can be triggered by as little as someone walking past her to something on a bigger scale.

a small black smoke point with short hair and blue eyes When she was born, she was, as all point kits are, completely covered in white fur. This combined with her wispy fur is what led her parents to name her Featherkit. Over time, her point markings started to come out. Her face, her ears, her front legs, and half of her tail are a smoky black and her fur is a mixture of white and gray. Her eyes are a light, piercing, blue that one might akin to ice. Like her mother, Hyacinthbreath, she has large ears and and is a rather small and scrawny she-cat.

featherpaw has always been described as a tomboy or a social outcast. while other kits worry about getting dirt in their fur and are more focused on playing things like clan featherkit was always more interested in playing in the dirt with the sticks and mud. she would build her own little worlds to get lost in, the mid making up the dens the sticks making up the cats that inhabited her make believe world in which she and her family were always the heroes. her imagination sometimes can run a little wild, a leftover trait from her childhood. Due to the environment she has grown up in, Featherpaw is now a very cold she cat. She tries her best not to show emotion, believing emotions to be a hinderance or a weakness. She looks up to Sootstar as a role model of sorts and her biggest wish is to one day be seen as a warrior of wind clan and not her mothers daughter. Thus, she will do anything in order to prove herself.

She hates that she is ostracized in WindClan because of her heritage and will hold that feeling of resentment against her for a long while.

she bears an eerie resemblance to hyacinthbreath in terms of fur color and pattern, though the white markings are slightly different. heatherpaw is generally of average height, though possibly a little on the smaller side. her eyes are blue, but may shine a purpley color in the right light

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT (basically the barebones of the direction i want to take with her, i usually get a fuller grasp when i get a better sense of the environment in rp)
— fits in very well with the militaristic windclan culture, has a strong sense of clan loyalty
— vengeful and holds grudges… for a very, very long time
— this means she will not have a favorable view of hyacinth currently
— although she professes to be completely free of her mother's influence, heather obsesses over her relation to hyacinth to an unhealthy degree. she believes that the clan is constantly comparing her to her mother (due to both looks, name, and parentage) and strives to become the "better windclan hyacinth". she may seek her mother out in raids and gatherings and taunt her because she is extremely insecure about it
— cordial and curt with clanmates, afraid and hesitant to love
— ruthless and relentless toward her enemies
— fantasizes that sootstar is her real mother
— before hyacinth's leave, heather was a genuinely heartfelt girl who wanted the best for herself and her family. she likely would have been more critical of, or at the very least confused by, the clan then and she flirted with the idea of going against the tide. after hyacinth was exiled and wisteria's death, heather's viewpoint sharply turned down the dark path she is currently on, believing that she had been blind before and that she is now on the rightful path
— whether she reconciles her hatred or dies in the darkness she created is the result of her ic development with others!
— her fatal flaw... an overactive imagination that makes her paranoid, easily believe misinformation, and difficulty in separating reality from fantasy

( + ) dedicated, patient, unflappable ( / ) loud, impulsive, energetic ( - ) blunt, hardheaded, rude labeled a feral individual as a kit, hummingbirdpaw has only mellowed out slightly over the course of her apprenticeship. she is still prone to hitting and swiping with needle-sharp teeth and claws, and does not understand the need to keep any opinions to herself. her bluntness may be seen as a weapon to some, cold hard honesty aimed at the weak spots of others, but it is simply a byproduct of a child who has never once in her life been told to shut up. she is loud and oftentimes ill-mannered, traits that her mentor has tried time and again to train out of her, but she does show temperance when surrounded on all sides by dirt. while in the tunnels she is poised and silent, communicating through soft hums and other such noises. she exhibits patience in excess, willing to lend an ear to another for as long as it takes. she does not take scolding well, and is prone to bouts of stubbornness that consist of a clenched jaw and a refusal to speak to certain clanmates. when under pressure, she is able to remain calm and treat situations with all the seriousness that they require.

So sorry for the lateness of this. Staff has informed me that the genetics used for this litter are incorrect. I have updated the genetics for you all to redo your applications.

As for the hypokit above, it shares the same genetics as Hyacinth still but is a SH Blue Tabby w/ White.

It's understandable if you wish to drop your applicant after this. I'm sorry guys. :sobs:

With that being said, I'm extending applications until the 20th to aid with this!

Kitty and I both agreed on our decision and we would like to congratulate @nya for getting the last HyaMoon spot with Nightingalepaw.
