Cocoshine's world primarily consists of two things: gossip with the other housecats and trying to prove herself as superior amongst the ranks of SkyClan. It isn't as bad out here as she once thought it had been. It's certainly no house- no promise of warmth and food and safety- but it isn't nearly as gross and dirty as her neighbors had whispered it was. Such drama. Cocoshine never found herself wrapped up in the sorts choosing instead to listen to it and nod along, but always sure to add just enough to the conversation that it didn't just seem like she was there to leech. Now when she finds herself at home, she gossips about clan drama and political affairs. As far as she's concerned, she's the most interesting feline on the block. Far more interesting than others seem to think Momowhisker is.

The oriental tortoiseshell moves with purpose, slinking through the underbrush of SkyClan territory. Her paws skate easily over the pine needles and crackly fallen leaves. She's spent a lot of time lately doing a whole lot of nothing- trying to pretend like she put any real effort into fighting amongst her clanmates during the rouge attacks. In all honesty, Cocoshine's priority had been to avoid a trip to that dreadful two-leg medicine place. It helped too to know that she wouldn't come away from the event with any scars. Those rouges were too stupid and scrawny and smelly to be any real threat anyway, so why did any of the clans need her help?

Regardless, Cocoshine thinks it's time she did something to make sure nobody tries to keep her in check. She's spent plenty of time practicing her stalking and blows. The two-legs have provided her with plenty of toys to help her along, too. The pine forest is still plentiful with prey, and that prey is plump and ripe for the picking as they begin to prepare for hibernation. It doesn't take Cocoshine long before she's hot on the trail of a nearby squirrel, and she finds it even quicker as it chatters and roots around on the ground for nuts and bugs and... Whatever else squirrels eat.

Cocoshine crouches quietly in the brush for a moment, positioning herself just right before she springs forward. It's a quick and merciful death- especially for her- as the squirrel lets out a mostly reflexive squeak as she swiftly dispatches it in a single bite. "Yes!" the oriental shorthair hisses out victoriously at her catch, gazing down at it with a sense of pride and satisfaction. Her first catch as a daylight warrior. She can't want to tell the rest of the cats on her block and see the looks on their faces. Cocoshine scoops up her bounty and begins to trot loftily back towards SkyClan camp.

A plump robin had miraculously found its way in between Cherrypaw's jaws today. The rose-patched apprentice certainly wasn't the best hunter in the ranks of SkyClan, not by a long shot, but even with Slate's subpar hunting lessons, she'd managed to pick something up. Of course, this was only one of the very few pieces of prey she'd ever caught in her whole apprenticeship. It'd been pretty much flawless though, a treebound catch that left nary a disturbance in the canopy save for a few scattered feathers. Slate might've even grunted a few words of praise.

The girl is trotting alongside @SLATE , tail and chin lifted high as if to show off her catch to even StarClan, when she spots a pale cat heading towards them with a lumpy shadow clasped firmly between mottled jaws. "Hey, Cocoshine," she meows around her robin, slowing down without regard to her mentor to greet her.

Upon closer inspection, that thing she's holding is a squirrel. A beautiful, plump, succulent squirrel. Cherrypaw tilts her head, lashes fluttering in quick analysis. Already in a good mood, it's not difficult for Cherrypaw to purr, "Nice catch!" She's always liked Cocoshine, at least from the distance that usually bridged apprentices and daylight warriors. It wasn't often their paths crossed, with hers twisted and shadowed by her notoriously twoleg-hating mentor, but the daylight warriors as a whole were never as irksome to her as they were some of her clanmates. They were certainly cleaner and smelled nicer than a few choice clan cats, and, even with the whisper of Leaf-bare on their doorstep, the warrior's dappled coat gleams like the sunlit surface of a calm pond.

"You just came from your twolegs, right?" she adds, for no reason other than tempting her into staying and chatting a bit more. Slate's silence was getting a bit grating, as used to it as she was, and a young apprentice could only go so long trying to pick out the squirrel sounds from normal leaf rustling without becoming deathly bored.

The young warrior found himself heading towards the SkyClan camp, with two bluebirds in his maw. Moonfang wasn't assigned to a hunting patrol this morning, rather the dawn border patrol. The patrol this morning went quite smooth— there weren't any major threats that had to be dealt with. It was a relief that there were no threats looming over SkyClan this morning, but that can change in a matter of hours. Ensuring that the clan was safe, while well-fed, is quite critical.

On his way back from the patrol, Moonfang found time to do a quick hunt. He managed to catch two unsuspecting bluebirds, using his strong hind legs to leap into the air. He would've spent more time hunting if it weren't for the fact that he wanted to see if he could be of anymore use once back at camp. The bluish-gray tom's ear pricked up at the voice of Cherrypaw, pulling him out of whatever thoughts were on his mind. "Hey, Cocoshine." He looks over in her direction as he notices Cocoshine and Slate, and his apprentice, returning to camp. He gives a brief nod of greeting to the three of them, before looking over at the pale feline. "Impressive catch," He notes as his eyes briefly land on the plump squirrel, with a flick of an ear.

You don't have to tell Moonfang twice that Cocoshine is a daylight warrior. He already knows by her absence in the warriors den at night, and by her interesting name— what in StarClan is "coco" anyway? Such a strange name to have, if you ask him. He wasn't exactly the most fond of daylight warriors— in his eyes, it seemed like an excuse to avoid the tougher aspects of being a clan cat. He couldn't imagine retreating to twolegs every nightfall. Thank StarClan he wasn't a former kittypet who had to face this dilemma, right? "She's lucky that they let her out, if you ask me." Moonfang comments with a slight frown. That must be a risk of being a daylight warrior, what if your twolegs decide not to let you outside anymore?

Applefrost is not as deft as some of her Clanmates to consider herself proficiently skilled in the game of a hunt. Her paws worked rather clumsy when she was trying to purposefully remain quiet, twigs and crunchy leaves floating beneath her pads. Her tail was equally difficult to maintain control and more oftne than not gave her away to whatever thrush she was hunting from behind a patch of ferns.

Thankfully today, though, the flame-pointed molly was not out of camp for that reason. Her rogue-apprentice must be shown the ropes of Clan culture if he decided to remain, and was leading @BEAR through the tangle of pine trees to show the tom how they utilized the trees to hunt.

"Without much cover on the ground the prey doesn't have many places to hide, but neither do the hunters." A rustling followed with gleeful hissing interrupted her little lesson and she beckoned for the other to follow, a smile forever present on her maw as she found Cocoshine above the limp form of a squirrel. Moonfang's words earn a dismissive flick of her tail and she padded closer.

"We wouldn't have a need for Daylight Warriors if that weren't the case! Great job, Cocoshine. Howlfire or Butterflytuft will be very happy."

The way the ground rustles around him, the way twigs crack and snap under his paws is a new experience for the scruffy and grimy rogue, he apparently found a new talent for seeking these out, as the ground is not particularly cluttered, he's casting suspicious looks towards Applefrost when she's continuing to inform him, he attempts to school something more neutral, eyes melting into their usual mournful state.

"There's not much to hide behind on the streets." Bear gruffs, casting an alert gaze around them a. So used to the space, yet cramped alleyways and the mice being within spare quarters if they were available at all. He continues his hesitant looks when his mentor figure beacons him to follow, arriving by the three already present a few paces behind. He eyes the prey around him, nose crinkling with the realization they seem to be the only cats without prey.

His eyes flit from Slate, their encounters had been brief in the past, but he does very much remember the occasions never delved into violence. Cherrypaw's enthusiasm compared to the staunch presence is interesting, he has to regard the duo with a slight, curious tilt of his head. Moonfang's comment is curious to him, two-legs, he doesn't quite understand, still having much to learn seemingly.

Catching sight of the prey between Cocoshine's jaws he dips his head in acknowledgement, a cat of few words. "
You caught something." The observation is spoken stiffly, like all his words. Trying to wash away the rust on his communication is seemingly an impossible task. He thinks sometime in youth he must have been able to use words without effort. The fresh scent of pine is new, it's all so clean. There's no frequent vile smells, he notes with a sense of relief, he casts a questioning look towards Applefrost, trying to ask without speaking.
