ALL THE KING'S HORSES

Moonshadow was lounging in front of the nursery as her kittens played in the clearing. It was evident that the molly was tired in the way her shoulders drooped and her tail lay motionless behind her. Her eyes were half-lidded, and she thought about how sad her current situation was. Once again left with a litter she was to raise on her own, with a cat who did not truly love her and only offered to care for her and them out of a sense of duty.

A soft sigh would flow from her lips as she watched her kits play with a moss ball, and she wondered if it would be worth it to attempt to make more friends within the clan after all that had happened. Did Windclan view her differently now? Did they pity her? Or were they more civilized and no cared about the private affairs of others? Moonshadow hoped it was the latter as she rested her head on her paws, her dark sapphire gaze trained attentively on her children.

Moonshadow was one of the few cats in Windclan she hadn’t made herself comfortable with. While the queen (understandably) spent most of her time in the nursery, Ivoryflight wanted to at the very least attempt to get to know her. They were clanmates after all! Looking over the fresh-kill pile, she would eventually select a nice thrush, and head over towards the queen, dropping it at her paws. “You look hungry, here.” A purr would emit from her throat as she watched the kits play, sitting nearby the molly. “They must keep you pretty busy! They’re adorable!

Her head would turn as she heard pawsteps approaching and she blinked slowly in greeting to Ivoryflight as the molly dropped a thrush between them. Moving to sit up properly, she would meow softly, "Thank you, Ivoryflight. This is very kind of you." Bending her head to take a bite of the bird, she would chew thoughtfully before nodding and swallowing, a glint of pride in her eyes.

"Yes, they do. But it is a busy I would not trade for the world." Her gaze would fall onto her kits again, watching them silently for a moment before turning to the warrior and speaking once more, "How has your day been fairing? Not working too hard, I hope."
