private A SONG OF — ICE & FIRE

──⇌•〘 INFO He and Firefang have had their differences, that much is true— but she is a reliable warrior who has fought for WindClan and defended Sunflowerpaw from their bullies, which has grown his respect for her. And though he does not know Icebreath well, he recognizes her dedication and quiet intelligence. Perhaps it is wishful thinking to believe they might rub off on each other, so to speak, but there is something to be said for opposites. Or near opposites.

So he invites them each —individually— to join him on the moors for a hunt (or a tunnel demonstration, in Icebreath's case). In truth, the area near Outlook Rock has been outfitted for something else entirely. He's laid flowers in a careful ring interspaced with stones of a similar size. At the center is a hare, and at opposite sides he's left a scattering of petals: one side of red, the other of blue.

TAGS Wolfsong's invitation had excited them; he's a cat they've always looked up to from a respectful distance, and the chance to demonstrate their knowledge to someone so admirable and, well, just plain cool was one she'd jumped at. Nerves eat at her, though, as she makes her way toward the Outlook Rock — they have been ever since he first sought her out. Their performance anxiety is acute; he's a lead warrior, after all. What if this is some sort of test? What if Sootstar put him up to this to ensure that she's a skilled enough mentor for Cottonpaw? Is she having second thoughts? Or maybe he's just curious, they reason with themselves. The thought of him just wanting to see what she can do and maybe even chat and get to know her makes her whiskers quiver with anticipation, but she stops herself from feeling too optimistic and getting carried away; better safe than sorry, and if she gets cocky she'll probably screw something up and make a fool of herself.

Wait, can he even fit in the tunnels? How am I supposed to demonstrate anything? The thought crosses her mind not long before she reaches her destination... upon which she notices the arrangement of rocks and florals — and a hare at the center of it all — with a bout of confusion. Did... they come to the wrong place? Where's Wolfsong? The little feline looks around with pricked ears and a furrowed brow, trying to spot the cream tomcat — or whoever's... something she'd accidentally stumbled upon.
