Newleaf comes with an abundance of rabbits. The sight brings back fond memories of happier times - of the bountiful feast brought back once upon a time, back before the hawks had descended upon the clan and leafbare had sunk its teeth into the survivors. Clear blue gaze are warm and fond as he plucks his prey from the pile - memories of children tugging aimlessly at limbs much to large for them in an attempt to take the biggest and fattest rabbit for themselves. Now he is older - bigger to for that matter. The rabbit is no longer bigger than him, but the same size instead - drawing a quiet laugh from the youth.

Clear blue gaze scan the camp to find a friendly face - landing upon a certain tunneler who has certainly peaked the bossy interest these days. He wants to know more about the boy - and from their recent interactions, he's fairly certain the other wants to be his friend as well. Happy with is target, the boy shuffles forwards one wobbly step at a time, eyes bright and wide. A loud thump and his looming shadow announce his presence, a bright grin on his maw as the prey falls to the ground "Hi d-dazzlepaw, wanna sh-share-?" he says cheerfully, voice soft and warm.

Dazzlepaw had not been doing anything special that day beside trying to think out his next prank to pull!. Now when he finally was free from his punishment tasks he of course needed to come up with a new way to get himself in trouble again!. That was just how he was. Typical rascal Dazzlepaw who never was up to no good. In the middle of his mischievous thoughts however a surprise stepped forward to kill his own boredom away!. The troublemaker would turn his attention around to settle his sun burning gaze upon his so called friend.

" Oh, if it isn't my cute friend Peri!." he greeted them with a bright grin, looking pleased to see them although a such thing could easily be faked. Not did he needed to puzzle over what had brought them to seek him out today because the answer was laying right in front of his very paws!. Pfft. Dazzlepaw found it amusing that out of all clanmates in this clan the one he decided to pick out to have a dinner date with was him. It was not everyday someone seeked him out personally to spend time with. More often they decided to avoid him. " Sure thing!, it most be my lucky day today that i get to share a meal with my cute adorebale friend, hihi. " he grinned still at them with no shame as he kept on going with his cheap 'pickup' lines after all Periwinklepaw never seemed to get bored with hearing them.

Dazzlepaw would lay himself down right in front of the rabbit he had been invited to share taking a small bite from it as he started to mounch on it and while his mouth still was full with meat he would start speaking again. " This rabbit is sooooo good, tastes better then usual!." he purred, wondering to himself why that was. Oh well. Who cared!. Probably because he shared company with a cutie. Yup. That most be it.

Again with the overt flirtations - not that poor periwinklepaw can see that - instead reading them as friendly compliments, the same as he'd give snailpaw or gravelsnap or any one of his clanmates. A startled blink is quickly followed by a slowly spready blush, his entire face heating at the comments nonetheless. That's just the way dazzlepaw is, he thinks - he can't possibly mean the compliments, because there is nothing particularly 'cute' about him when he looks at his reflection. But... it's nice to be praised so openly - something that was a rare experience for the boy. Flustered but determined nonetheless, a happy smile spreads wide across his face as the offer of sharing prey is accepted - the first hurdle in his first overture of friendship now passed.

"G-g-glad to hear that~ p-prey cer-tainly has been more p-plentiful these d-d-days," he murmurs thoughtfully, settling down beside the older apprentice to bask in the newleaf sun while they eat. The warm is comforting - both the body heat of another and the sunlit. "how are th-things down below?" he asks softly, curiosity glinting in his eyes as he to goes to take a bite - though he's more well mannered about it, speaking only before and after he chews, when his mouth is empty. It's easier to ask about the simple things he thinks - he's never been good at making the first move in a friendship after all.

──⇌•〘 INFO 〙 It isn't the first time Wolfsong's noticed a particular...lack of finesse among his fellows, at least where wordplay is involved. Not all of his clanmates, of course, but enough that he can bemoan it, which he does now as he overhears Dazzlepaw's rather clumsy flirting. Bravado and confidence can only carry one so far, and it would take someone thrice as charming as Dazzlepaw to sell such compliments as genuine. Of course, from Periwinklepaw's response, perhaps a blunt approach would be best; what use is there in a witty repertoire if it soars far overhead? Best to strike him with a bludgeoning object.

"It must have eaten well," he remarks. "Well-fed prey tastes best. No doubt a bit of bark in there somewhere— or a wayward insect or two, caught in the wrong place at the wrong time."
