TIDALKIT

Guest

It was unfair how he still was stuck in the nursery while the rest had left the nest to become apprentices. It had been his time to shine too being at age and all. However, thanks to the unfortunate circumstances that had happened this couple of months Tidalkits life these far had been far from the ordinary. Born into a foreign place to start his first chapter of life in only to be forced to move into a far less pleasant place. It had been awful there. All dark and dull, not even leaves growing on the trees there. Cold and just plain out awful. Not a place suited for someone as great as him. To make matters worse he had ended up catching that deadly illness every cat in the forest had been so terrified of. Closed to the deaths's den before he even had get to see anything of the world. It had been a miracle that he even had survived. Starclan for sure favored him knowing he was destined for something great one day. Tidalkit had always been told he was special and now he was convinced that was the case. Ready more then ever before the kit was ready to begin his new chapter, to end his kithood and take the first step to become the greatest warrior this clan ever would see.

Unfortunately thanks to the sickness which had threatend his life Tidalkit's apprenticeship had been put on hold to make sure his health was fully recoverd first, small and skinny as he was thanks for the aftermath of almost meeting death to early. Even if it might have been a logical decision to be made Tidalkit was disapproving. Young, impatient and ready to prove himself this set-back had been the absolute worst outcome for him. It didn't benefit him at all which obviously left the kit frustrated at his own situation.

Tidalkit would glare with jealousy at the newly promoted apprentices who made themselves ready to leave camp for the first time since returning back here after the rogue invasion. He imagined them all go out there to steal the glory that was rightfully his to claim. Just thinking about it made him even more angry. With a frustrated huff the kit finally stood up to tear his envious eyes away to start walking into the different direction so he no longer needed to see them. On his way back to the nursery so he could sulk in there instead happened to come across an innocent pebble on the ground. A perfect object for Tidalkit to take out his anger. Without even thinking twice about it the paw were raised to kick the rock and of it went sending it flying across camp to hit someone who was unfortunate enough to stand in the way of the kits wrath.

// been a while since i last write something so apologize in advance!

At this point Moonpaw was old enough to have been an apprentice long enough to not been in the nursery with the kittens in there now. It was an odd feeling, but one that she didn't dwell on often - there was no time and no point - though she still enjoyed visiting the nursery when she got the chance, trying to meet the new kittens and make sure they knew that being an apprentice was fun but something that could be waited for - there were plenty of chances once apprenticed to go out and see the world, it would always be there.

Carrying moss towards the elder's den Moonpaw hadn't been fully paying attention until she had suddenly been hit by a pebble, a small surprised noise coming from her as the small thing collided with her leg. The ball of moss fell from her maw and she quickly looked around, eyes landing on Tidalkit as the smaller tom stalked away. "Why the rock throwing?" Calm-voiced the apprentice was as she pad over, head tilting to the side for a moment as fallen moss was forgotten and she moved towards the nursery.

It had been many moons since he was a kitten that it was hard sometimes to remember it all. Then again, his kithood was not the same as those within the clans. After all, he'd been born a kittypet. He no longer remembers the faces of his mother or father. His littermates? Even less so. To be honest he isn't even sure if he saw his father. He had been so young before he was taken away by his twolegs. It was safe to say that his twolegs were his father and mother more than his actual parents. A nice and cushy life he had and if you asked him if he wanted to return the answer would be no. While it would be easy to go back and quickly readjust to his former life, his family and friends were here. He couldn't leave them for the world. Not to mention he made it his goal to change. How could he change here if he returned to the twoleg place?

Pikesplash himself had been spending one of the rarer moments to rest, watching his clanmates. He would rise to his paws in alarm when he saw Moonpaw hit by a pebble, resulting in the apprentice dropping a bundle of moss. Out of concern he started to pad after her. It's not like a pebble would hurt the apprentice, but something was up. Ears twitch as he heard her question. Tidalkit throwing rocks was unusual. He wasn't as active when it came to visiting the nursery as much as before considering Otterpaw was no longer a kit and he had an apprentice to train. "Maybe it was an accident?" Who knows. I just hope he doesn't have something against Moonpaw for some reason. Moonpaw has been nothing short of nice. The elders say good things about her.

It had been quite some time since the nursery had been cursed with Otterpaw's terror. He had never thought of the milk-scented den much after that other than the occasional direction to deliver food and wet moss. Other than that the nursery was simply... there. A warning sign to the nest space he would lose the moment they were able to become apprentices beside him. At times he would glance over their play and tumbling in brief assessing he normally made the decision none of them were worth the weight of his whiskers.

He had only trailed a few steps behind Pikesplash, his direction headed for his nest to take a quick break before his next patrol when he heard the toms voice pipe up. An accident? A quick sweep between Tidalkit and Moonpaw, the stray pebble catching their attention, told him all he needed.

"Does Tidalkit need to learn to keep accidents to himself then?" He grumbled his threat with promise, tail twitching as he challenged sickly scrap.

☼°⋆ — Goldenkit had only seen the rock skirt into the air out of the corner of her eye, gifted wings by Tidalkit's wrathful aim. She blinked up at Moonpaw, breath bated in reaction. Though Goldenkit didn't know her well, the apprentice had seemed sweet, and the idea of her doing anything to result in Tidalkit's rock attack seemed unrealistic. From the look on his face, maybe she didn't need to do anything to warrant his rage. She didn't get why he was acting furious, but she supposed that whatever Tidalkit had contracted to hold back his apprenticeship had grumpy as a symptom.

"Can we play catch with the rock instead?" Goldenkit's eyes flickered from Pikesplash and his theory of an accident to Otterpaw, who promised a lesson. Her words came more urgently, and she neared Tidalkit, aiming to nudge his shoulder with hers. "Come on, Tidalkit, it'll be a lot more fun!" More fun than throwing rocks at cats... Still, enthusiasm coated her voice, and she smiled, the complete opposite to Tidalkit's stormy mood.

bio ₊˚✧ ゚. While not sharing the same predicament, the sentiment is shared. Resigning himself to staying nearby the nursery on his mother's insistence has him bubbling with barely restrained energy, most of which has seemingly gone towards terrorizing the nursery. Bitekit's milling around camp for a lack of anything else he can be bothered to find to occupy himself when he catches the questioning. The frustration seems to radiate off Tidalkit, he doesn't like seeing it, it angers him for some reason he can't explain.

Regardless of his own antics, seeing the pebble which as, going by the discussion hit someone sparks the frustration sitting in his belly. Who knows who Tidalkit's next target will be, he certainly doesn't want to be the target of frustration. "Flea-brain!" slips out. Something about seeing frustration that isn't his own has something pricking at his paws. Even with the questioning of Pikesplash and Otterpaw, and the gentle redirection from Goldenkit, he decides he need to take action. and that action involves flinging whatever is nearby in his jaws, the pebble in question, hot anger nipping at his heels. From the time it takes him to get there the action can likely be predicted.

Without even looking back to see where the pebble had landed Tidalkit was on his way to walk away from the scene until he heard the noise behind that had resulted from his tantrum. Tidalkit would stop and cast a look behind his shoulder to spot the softspoken Moonpaw standing there looking somewhat suprised before her eyes landed on him, the culprit of the assault. She decided to confront him with a question to why he had made the decision he had done. " Because it was in my way. " he would huff with an annoyed look not directed at her specifically but more directed to his very own mood which was as sour like a lemon.

Tidalkit did not appreciated it when more of his clanmates showed up rather being left alone to sulk because they couldn't do anything to help with his situation anyway. Pikesplash input was enough for the kit to fully turn around to face them. The warrior were not completely wrong. He had not meant for the pebble to hit Moonpaw or anyone really. He had just been so angry!. Before he could speak out though to defend his case a threat was coming his way by the warriors own apprentice.

Tch, now he really was pissed. Who did this apprentice think he was daring to speak to him in this way?. Tidalkit truly wished he could take on this apprentice challenge but he was not dumb enough to think he had any chance yet beside he strongly disapproved of violence between clanmates. His mother had taught him better than that to put his time on something that was actually importand like protect and provide to the clan and not play along with power-play. He did not needed to anyway. He already knew he was better than Otterpaw. " Your attempt to scare me are pathetic. " he decided to respond as he locked his gaze on the apprentice to glare back at them, unfazed by them. Tidalkit already knew if anyone dared lay a paw on him they would have to face his mothers wrath and starclans. There was nothing for him to fear.

Goldenkit suddenly showed up to join in to the conversation. Tidalkit would cast a side-glance over at the other kit when she touched his shoulder something that made his whiskers twitch not all to happy about that physical contact between the two. It made him take a step away from her before he looked away to avoid direct eye contact. " I dont play games." He wanted to sound all grow up but in truth he had never played with the other kits before thanks to having been sick for the majority of his kithood so had missed out on how to properly interact with the other kits at his age. Now he just felt uncomfortable by the idea, afried to make a fool out of himself. So he rather not. He was too old for childish games anyway.

Returning his attention back to Moonpaw there was at least something even him know she deserved to hear from him right now. " I'm sorry, the pebble was not meant for you. Next time i'll make sure to not kick it at you." Maybe Otterpaw could be the target next time instead. Tidalkit wouldn't exactly say he felt sorry but his mother had told him how importand manners were and sometimes an apology was necessery just so everyone would be happy and pleased. Lies where only bad if they could be seen through.

" Huh?, what did you just call me?!." Tidalkit snapped his attention to Bitekit who had appeared and thrown out the worst possible insult. It was so absurd that Tidalkit was convinced he must have heard wrong. Had this kit just dared calling him for a flea-brain?!. Tidalkit had tried his very best to keep his anger at bay like his mother had taught him to do but this...this would his mother truly be angry if he caused a scene after a such unforgivable insult to his ego?.

Before he could decide his action Bitekit viciously went for the same pebble he just had kicked at. Unsure at which direction the kit was going to aim it at Tidalkit placed himself in front of Goldenkit in case the pebble would come flying at their direction that way she wouldn't be the one who got hit. Maybe it was karma, the universe way of punishing Tidalkit for his previous abuse of the pebble. Because it actually came back to hit him right between his eyes. Tidalkit cried out with gritted teeth as he took a step back, and placed a paw on his forehead. Tears started to blurry his vision but he refused to cry!. Big boys didn't cry...

Much like Tidalkit, Moonpaw wasn't the biggest fan of everyone gathering around so quickly. Not because she didn't enjoy the company of her clanmates - quite the opposite actually - but because it made things like this turn into a bigger deal than it was. She could deal with a kit even though many of the older clanmates might still see herself as such, and she wasn't injured by the pebble that had flown in her direction just surprised. So many bodies weren't needed, but instead of saying anything she'd offer those around her a small smile, her own little hello, before attention was brought back to Tidalkit.

Because it was in my way.

Well that wasn't the best reason in the world but it would have to do for now. Moonpaw wasn't Tidalkit's mother so a simple small nod left her as she soon found herself sitting near the other. More words are said, Otterpaw and Goldenkit speak threats and talk of games, and to Pikesplash she gives a small look, head nodding once more before Tidalkit speaks once more, an apology and a promise not to kick the pebble at her next time. "Did you know if you put stuff in the water by the shore of camp, sometimes minnows will come over to see it?" They were curious little fish, she remembered trying to fish with her tail when she was younger before she was taught how to properly do it. "Maybe I can show you some time, we could try to catch some too if you want?" Maybe it would keep pebbles where they belonged in nests and on the ground instead of flying towards other cats.

And that's when Bitekit's words reached her ears and quickly Moonpaw found her head swiveling too late as pebble flew once more... straight into Tidalkit's head. "Bitekit! She gasped, surprised and disappointment clear in her voice. She wouldn't say anything else for now, let the older apprentices and the warriors that were there now deal with the small tom. For now, she attempted to usher Tidalkit away hoping to get him to Ravensong's den to get looked at. Even if it ended up being nothing she didn't want it to potentially be something that didn't get checked out.

Ah....

Valekit looms like a ghost just outside the nursery, a forest-colored stare hungrily watching the interactions of his den-mates. They were... all loud, he'd decided. And Valekit longed for moments of quite nights, engulfed in the warmth of a starry pitch sky.

Tidalkit flings something and like a ripple across the stream, it creates waves instantly. His lips thin into a frown, already aware of how badly this could go were a few select players put into action. And, of course, they were.

The long story made short is that.. Tidalkit was just sulking and Bitekit had no patience. The pebble makes it way back across the camp at a breakneck speed, slapping into the original offender with no remorse. Moonpaw practically leaps over her own tail to protect the already injured kit- why? What good would it do now? At least this way Tidalkit would stop throwing things haphazardly. "Tidalkit did it first," he complains to Moonpaw as she scolds his friend.

"Both bad..."

bio ₊˚✧ ゚. Vicious satisfaction that comes from his thow is short lived. The niceties he can't understand, if he was in Moonpaw's position he'd long since started throwing his claws out, the pathetic scraps he's managed proof of that. The brawny kitten's face scrunches at the exclamation, he's expecting it, nothing new to his ears, He's long since accustomed with tones and noises of varying expression of disappointment from his antics. As Valekit's voice drifts over, his paws take him closer to the nursery. "You shouldn't've done that." he mutters towards Tidalkit, vaguely in his own defense.

It takes a while for the crackling anger to subside. He sees the watery eyes and guilt begins to creep over him. Bitekit's retreating somewhere nearby Valekit, as if he can hide from the disappointment. The defense is a shock to his system, he's not sure he's had anyone advocate for him when he's done something he probably shouldn't have, he can't quite decide if he likes it.

Both bad? "You're bad." He snaps automatically to the other kitten, and immediately regrets it, sulkily casting green eyes away. Bitekit fills his lungs, exhales a nearly inaudible apology. He can't help but follow it up, sights set back on Tidalkit: "Hope it didn't hurt too bad." he mocks, even as he ducks his head as if Valekit's fluff can disguise him, picking a fight in front of everyone, he's expecting Tidalkit to fight back, but from the impact it seems he may not receive the scrap he's picking for.

*+:。.。 Thank Starclan Carp-paw was an easy kit, Silverbreath thinks with a blink, baffled by the events that he'd just witnessed. Granted, he'd love his little guppy no less but boy howdy was this younger generation proving themselves to be quite the pawful! "Hey Buddy, apologizing without heart is no apology at all" he muses, lightly brushing Bitekit's shoulders with his tail-tip. This wasn't his child to chastise, so he refrained from doing so, but his heart wrenched with worry that this kitten was so aggressive at such a young age. Living in a clan meant working together, and failing that you'd have a rough time rising in the ranks or even being welcomed on patrols and outings. Life wouldn't be impossible but it'd certainly be difficult with an anti-social personality. To each their own, he supposes, but it wouldn't hurt to see what methods could be enacted to get the little guy to flip his sword of thorns and reveal the rose instead.
"Valekit, Goldenkit, what do you all say to a little game of moss ball?" What better way to reroute bad habits than by channeling them into something useful? And there was no better way to strengthen bonds than with games! "Perhaps Tidalkit can join in once he's been treated?" he directs this mainly to Moonpaw as she pads away, hoping to get a nod or something from the healer-in-training clueing him in on whether Tidalkit will be okay to join. I mean, it was a pretty significant blow, and if the poor child is truly out for the count for the rest of the day then...man, Bitekit won't get out of this mess quite so scot-free.

With a sigh, he quickly picks up his smile and turns his attention back to the little scraps of fur. Dear Starclan, even grumpy as they all are they're just so cute! He remembers when Carp-paw was this small...aaahh! Okay, focus! "Now!" he exclaims, clapping his paws together cheerily, "How about we start this game off with a race? The first one to grab me a ball of moss from the warriors den will be the winner - but remember! Ask the owner of the nest you take from for permission first!" Ah yes, brilliant, what a great way to teach the little tykes some humility by adding that little hurdle into the game!
Man he's such a great dad, he thinks, mentally patting himself on the back.
