They only have a short amount of time together. Cottonsprig does not count the seconds - they're almost four moons, now, if she decides to keep count. They'll be living in the same camp and though they cannot know they were born of her, she can still watch them grow up. She does not monitor the moments because after grieving for so long, she's forced herself to realize that these fleeting morsels will not be all she has. Sadness and guilt still endlessly plague her, but at least she no longer tremors when she sees them. (However, somehow, that makes her feel worse.) She is still their medicine cat for seasons to come, and more than that, she is still their family. She has to be okay with that. (Much of her still isn't.)

"Alright, Foalkit," her paw is held up a few mouselenths away from his face, "Tell me when you start to see my paw clearly, okay?" From what she understands, blindness can be less... black-and-white, and more like when she crosses her eyes or squints too hard. She is determined to give her son (her nephew?) a fighting chance at warriorhood, and starting to gauge his abilities now to tell his aunt (mother) will help in the long run.

As soon as he offers the affirmative, her paw glides through the air towards him, waiting for a signal.

  ♥♥♥ TRAVELING HERBS ; learned well from her previous mentor. will pile even too many remedies to tough the wilderness with.
