camp BUT WE FOUND EACH OTHER IN THE DARK // 3/1 MEETING

It is with a mixture of hope and worry that Howlingstar stands before her clan now, her eyes hooded and dull as she thinks of the beasts that roam outside their walls. Acornwish, a brand new warrior that had barely begun her life of independence, had already been slaughtered. How many more would follow? None, She resolved, because they’d be safe. They’d be careful. “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!” She yowls, summoning her clan with all the strength she’s able to muster.

As they approach, she watches as four specific apprentices scramble to the front. They know today is the day they earn their warrior names. A group of friends that she’s watched grow up, it’s with pleasure she can perform their ceremonies today to make them full warriors. But before she can begin, she must address what is most important. “The wolves in these woods cannot be ignored. From here on out, no one leaves camp without telling a lead warrior or myself where you’re going, and no one leaves in groups smaller than three. Apprentices will not be allowed to be unaccompanied ever, not even to gather moss. We will figure out a solution. I promise. But for now…we can’t let what happened to Acornwish happen to anyone else.” Stars, there hadn’t even been a body for a proper vigil. She looks to the nursery, where three queens lie with three orphaned kits. “It seems loners in the area have gotten the same idea about the danger. We have taken in their abandoned kits, and they will be treated as ThunderClanners from here on out. They belong with us, now. And with Flamewhisker in the nursery now, I know we’ll need a temporary replacement. Raccoonstripe will be fulfilling all of her duties until she is able to return after her kits are apprenticed.” She looks to her son with a flicker of pride and a small smile. She trusts him more than most; sure, she’s always known him to be rough around the edges, but not many are as aggressively loyal to their clan as he is. He will make her proud.

“And now, it is time for this moon’s round of warrior ceremonies. Lightpaw, Badgerpaw, Phloxpaw, Palepaw, step forward.” She watched the small group of friends with a knowing smile. At the back of her mind, however, she thinks of Lovepaw and Joypaw, their friends who would not be joining them today after the foolish adventure to slay an unkillable owl. No matter - she can’t let that ruin the day for these four. “I, Howlingstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble Code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Lightpaw, Badgerpaw, Phloxpaw, Palepaw, do you promise to uphold the Warrior Code and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?” She looks down at them now, awaiting their vows.

Lightpaw sat between Palepaw and Badgerpaw. She wasn't as happy as she should've been, mind mulling over the lack of Lovepaw and Joypaw. She felt the flash of guilt that once again stung her, before pushing it aside. She looked up at Howlingstar with bright green eyes. Artificially puffing her chest, she meowed, "I do," and willed the guilt away. She was going to be a warrior damnit, and she deserved it. She glanced over at Roeflame. Though she hadn't administered her test, she was grateful for the moons of training she had received.

As her friends beside her also vowed their commitment to the clan and the warrior code, she finally felt the swell of pride she should have. It felt wonderful, like she was on top of the world. Nothing could hurt them if they stuck together. Warriors.
[ MAYBE THIS TIME I'LL WIN ]

When Howlingstar calls the Clan together for the ceremony, Softpaw could only think of Lovepaw and Joypaw, stuck in the medicine cat's den due to their foolhardy attempt to taking down an owl. They wouldn't be becoming warriors for some extended time now, and Softpaw wondered how it would feel if she was becoming a warrior without Vixenpaw by her side - it wouldn't be the end of the world, very few things were, but she'd definitely prefer if her sister were at her side in that stage of life.

At the very least, Lovepaw and Joypaw were being held back together, meaning they would likely be christened with their new names at the same time regardless, when that time came. Softpaw wondered briefly what they were thinking now, and she glanced back at the medicine cat's den, where a handful of apprentices were in recovery, before her attention was once again caught by Lightpaw agreeing to Howlingstar's address. To be a warrior... but Softpaw was getting ahead of herself. She was only just this moon going to properly be an apprentice.

shes just back from patrol when howlingstar calls, seeing off her clanmates with each of their respective catches. the vole caught between her teeth is for roeflame, or one moonwhisper or even flamewhisker — their latest queen. mouths on mouths to be fed, a feat with the hounds lurking the trees outside their camp. when the aging tabby ascends, though, she perks her head and rests her kill at the base of the pile to retrieve before she heads towards the base of the rock. warnings to heed, instructions to follow — she swallows hard at the touch of worry in howlingstar’s voice when she mentions acornwish. the name is enough to turn her stomach, the thought of falling victim to the beast she’d witnessed was nearly unimaginable, as if her mind refused to stoop to the mess of blood and meat that she’d surely become. settling off to the sidelines after a quick glance around for burnstorm or stormywing, the few of her friends not restricted to the briar bush soon to house thunderclans newest generation.

raccoonstripe was an obvious choice, falling easy and natural from their leaders tongue. she’d felt more surprise at the red tabby’s kitting announcement more than word of her replacement. letting herself scan for the tom, her tail lifts in an encouraging flick.. as if the brown tabby really needed it. apprentices line at the stones foot and freckleflame sits a little straighter, watching with ears craning forward to hear what they would be named in turn.

Acornwish had fallen victim to the shadowy beasts that lurk through their territory; her death has brought a hush to ThunderClan’s camp. Howlingstar addresses the Clan from her perch atop the Highrock, her eyes dulled with grief for the young warrior. Raccoonstripe’s own heart aches—he remembers when the kits had been found, fierce little scraps with awful names, remembers watching them grow from tormented rogue kittens into fierce, loyal ThunderClan warriors. The dark tabby sits below his mother, his expression equally solemn as she speaks of the danger they’re all in. He nods in affirmation to her orders: no warrior would enter the territory in groups smaller than three cats, and no apprentices would leave camp alone at all.

She speaks then of the kits who’d been brought into the Clan. Raccoonstripe’s ear flicks sideways, but he otherwise does not change expression. His mother is soft-hearted when it comes to kits; he’s always known this about her. Anyway, not even he would let an innocent scrap of fur expire in the forest. They were young enough to be raised into faithful, strong ThunderClan warriors, though he’d thought the same about Fallowpaw…

The darkness that troubles his gaze dissipates as Howlingstar continues to sleep. With Flamewhisker in the nursery now, I know we’ll need a temporary deputy. The tabby’s whiskers quiver as his body stills. Raccoonstripe will be fulfilling all of her duties… Tufted ears perk up, and a smile wreaths it’s way around his snow-pale muzzle. His tail flicks inward, curling, as pride ignites inside of him like a well-kept flame.

He dips his head to Howlingstar. “I will do my best to carry out her duties while she’s in the nursery.” The tabby’s paws suddenly itch—he wants to take action, he wants to help solve this problem with the wolves now. He’s deputy—even if it’s temporary, he’s deputy!

He catches Freckleflame’s eye, and he gives her a nod. The flame of pride warming his belly extends into his limbs, into his heart, igniting. He’d serve his Clan to the best of his ability—and he’d make sure his mother saw his value as deputy in Flamewhisker’s place.

Howlingstar moves on, summoning a group of apprentices toward the Highrock. He turns and scans the crowd for their pelts, but his mind is buzzing now, frantic. I’m deputy… I’m ThunderClan’s deputy at last. The word temporary starts to fizzle from his mind the more he says it to himself.

newleaf meant new beginnings, and endings. acornwish’s death shook leafhusk to her bones, the young warrior’s shriek will haunt her until next winter at best. nevertheless, the molly makes her way over to listen to the announcements, taking a seat and curling her tail around her paws.

chaos and misery hangs heavy in thunderclan, there is still things to look forward too. soon, bundles of kits will stumble around the nursery, and apprentices are ready to become warriors. they’ll get through this.

As the apprentices state their vows, Howlingstar tips her chin up in acknowledgment. Pride flickers in her gaze, and as she turns towards the edge of the boulder in preparation to climb down, she calls out, "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names." She slinks to the ground, noticing already how her joints feel lighter in the warmer weather. She first approaches Lightpaw, the apprentice of Roeflame. Though young, the lead warrior has proven to be a talented mentor - she's sure she made Lightpaw into a wonderful warrior. Howlingstar herself had hosted her assessment, and she'd passed with flying colors. It is with certainty she announces, "Lightpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Lightflower. StarClan honors your optimism and enthusiasm, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She moves to place her chin on the new warrior's head, a smile on her maw.

She pulls away and moves on to Badgerpaw. She'd been passed onto Burnstorm for the remainder of her apprenticeship, and he's done well to mold her into a great ThunderClan warrior. Smiling at the she-cat who'd garnered quite the reputation for being a troublemaker in her youth, Howlingstar feels she's now ready for the responsibility her new name will bring. "Badgerpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Badgerstripe. StarClan honors your will and empathy, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." Like before, she rests her head on the she-cat's skull and waits for the ceremonial lick on her shoulder before pulling away.

Phloxpaw is next, the cheery follower of the others. She's always been rather popular with the other apprentices in the den, and Howlingstar is positive she will be just as popular in the warrior's den with her outgoing personality. She comes to stand before her and tips her chin up. "Phloxpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Phloxdawn. StarClan honors your loyalty and intelligence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She places her muzzle between her ears, and moves onto the final apprentice.

She stands before Palepaw, the one who'd gone and told Nightbird and herself about the apprentices who'd sneaked out to hunt the owl. If anything, it has proven to her that she is a lawful young she-cat. Nightbird trained her well, trained her to be smart and follow the rules for her own safety. It's hard to turn in one's own friends, but if she hadn't, they all likely would have been slaughtered. She'd saved their lives with her act. "Palepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Palefire. StarClan honors your determination and headstrong personality, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." She rests her chin on her head before stepping back, and it's with a hearty voice she yowls their new names in celebration. "Lightflower! Badgerstripe! Phloxdawn! Palefire!"

As the cheering dies down and Howlingstar climbs back onto the Highrock, and watches as the brand new warriors head back into the crowd. She then looks towards a certain little kit who's been waiting an awful long time for this day. "Thistlekit, step forward. You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Thistlepaw. Your mentor will be Raccoonstripe. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you." She looks to her son, who is still beaming after the announcement he would be the clan's temporary deputy in Flamewhisker's place. "Raccoonstripe, you have trained many apprentices for this clan, and you're ready for another. You are a brave, devoted warrior, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Thistlepaw."

Badgerpaw is named Badgerstripe for her black, badger-like dorsal stripe

⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ Today was a day worth waiting for. A day she had anticipated for many moons, ever since she was given her apprentice name - and even beyond as an excitable kit in the nursery. Badgerpaw and her friends have passed their assessments and were all ready to receive their warrior names.

Although Lovepaw and Joypaw were stuck in the medicine cat's den, Badgerpaw could hardly focus on them now. Not during her moment! In fact, she had almost completely tuned out the other announcements as she fidgeted in her spot, unable to sit still. Hurry up, hurry up!

Finally, the round of ceremonies blessed her ears. Along with her comrades, Badgerpaw answered the pledge with a confident, "I do!" And at last, her name was called. Badgerstripe, no doubt for the black stripe running down her back. She liked it much better than a reflection of her personality - of her loud mouth, as another apprentice once predicted. Though, the virtues puzzled her for a moment. Will, sure, but empathy? Hadn't she just nearly forgotten about Lovepaw and Joypaw, tucked away while the rest of the group received their hard-earned names? Badgerstripe felt a wave of guilt wash over her, and her stance slightly slacked. Was she as good of a friend as she thought she was?

Nevertheless, she joined in with the cheering of the newly named warriors. "Lightflower! Phloxdawn! Palefire!" and, to prove to herself that she could be empathetic, she cheered for the rest of the announcements too. "Raccoonstripe! Thistlepaw!"

Lightflower... She beamed, barely even able to contain herself as Howlingstar gave her her name. With a respectful lick on the shoulder, she repeated her name again in her head. It was beautiful, she couldn't wait for everyone to hear it. As Badgerpaw became Badgerstripe, Phloxpaw- Phloxdawn, and Palepaw- Palefire, she felt on top of the world. She chanted her friend's names with the rest, and as Thistlepaw was named, she called for him too. She saw a flash of her future, sitting and watching proudly as her own kits became apprentices and warriors.

Lightflower hoped the day she found a mate and had kits would be sooner than later, though she wasn't in a rush. Celebrate the warrior name first, then other things.
[ MAYBE THIS TIME I'LL WIN ]

Howlingstar begins to name the new warriors: Lightflower, Badgerstripe, Phloxdawn, and Palefire. Raccoonstripe’s tail lifts along with his chin. He looks to the young cats, sees the pride clear in their eyes as Howlingstar touches her chin to their heads, as she withdraws to chant their names. The tabby warrior adds his own voice to the Clans’: “Lightflower! Badgerstripe! Phloxdawn! Palefire!” He seeks Nightbird’s silvery gaze in the crowd, wondering if he'll see pride reflected in her gaze as her apprentice joins the ranks of ThunderClan’s warriors. She’s tough and reserved, but he knows she’s passionate about training her apprentices diligently and firmly; he imagines she must be proud, as proud as she had been when Duskbird had received his warrior name.

ThunderClan’s leader calls forth a kit, too-big for the nursery, to the front. Raccoonstripe’s eyes narrow thoughtfully. Thistlekit is the sickly kit who’d been campbound for moons of his young life, but he’d played with the young tom just the other day, had hooked a bit of moss and watched a fierce, if clumsy, pounce. Howlingstar calls his name yet again, and Raccoonstripe gives a sharp nod of acknowledgment.

He pushes himself to his paws and crosses the clearing to touch noses with Thistlepaw. “I hope you’re ready to get started right away,” he says. “We’ve got to make sure you’re caught up, after all.” He mentally curses the situation ThunderClan is in, caught between herds of deer and a murderous hound stalking their woodland; it wouldn’t be easy to ensure Thistlepaw is up to par in such dangerous circumstances.

It seemed, even in the most grim of time outside of the camp, there was plenty to celebrate within. The scene of Acornwish's death rested heavy on his mind as he sat next to his mate, green eyes half-lidded as he looked towards Howlingstar as she called the meeting. A warning given, at first- a warning that no one was to leave camp in a group smaller then three. His head dipped quietly- that made sense, but it wouldn't stop the wolves, would it? Doubt bit at his gut, and his ears flattened, eyes turning away.

He focused on Leopardtongue briefly, ears twitching. No, the deer wouldn't be there to remain. He inhaled softly, looking back forward. Flamewhisker in the nursery, which left- Reccoonstripe as temporary. His ears flicked, a tiny grin settling on his muzzle. He remembered when the now-temp deputy had a little competition with Nightbird, as amusing as that was. Batwing's head nodded towards the tabby as he was rewarded with his new position, both in approval and minor amusement. Some of that doubt ebbed away, just briefly enough.

Soon, apprentices are joining the warriors- new flesh for the den. Batwing's voice rose, joining in the chants- "Lightflower! Badgerstripe! Phloxdawn! Palefire!" He called with the rest, quieting down thereafter. A tiny grin found his face as Raccoonstripe was not only given a position- but an apprentice as well. His whisper was given to Leopardtongue as he spoke. "Double whammy, huh?" A tiny snicker followed as he sat back up. He then chanted for his new temp deputy, and the apprentice, voice going up in cheer. "Raccoonstripe! Thistlepaw!" Flycatcher's words echoed in the back of his mind. We shouldn't be shouting.

The doubt returned.

⁺˚⋆。°✩₊ When Howlingstar had called for a meeting, she found herself sitting just outside the nursery. Sparrowkit was tucked away inside, so she allowed grief to glaze across her gaze. When the patrol had returned with the news about Acornwish, it had felt so unreal. They had returned without a body, just news of a scream, wolf scent, and blood. At first she was sure it was just a misunderstanding. Acornwish could have just been in the area, that's why they smelled her scent. The blood was probably from a deer...the scream...maybe her former apprentice had saw the wolf. She hadn't wanted to accept the truth, but when the molly hadn't returned to the camp, it was clear what had happened. The molly that she had found in the forest...the kit who she had spent every day over the past six moons training, gone. She had been so proud to see her receive her full name. Acorn wish should have had so many more moons to live and grow, but the wolves had taken her. It wasn't fair.

Raccoonstripe was named temporary deputy, and she nodded slowly in agreement. Howlingstar's son was a solid choice to step in while she was out with kits. He would serve Thunderclan well. If he looked her way, she would offer him a faint smile. She approved of course, but it was difficult to feel anything other than grief right now.

Howlingstar then continued on to naming four new warriors, and assigning Thistlekit to the new temporary deputy. She chanted their names, trying her best to sound as excited as she wanted to feel.

After the pair of cats touch noses, Howlingstar smiles and continues onto the last part of the meeting. "Adderpaw, step forward," She called, searching for the young apprentice in the crowd. She's sure he has already learned of what will happen today. Mossywing (NPC) has decided he needs to retire to the elder's den. Rumors fly around this camp - apparently, Adderpaw hasn't exactly been the easiest charge to handle. The warrior is old, several seasons older than herself. Perhaps it is time for him to settle down and rest, enjoying the rest of his life in peaceful retirement.

"With Mossywing retiring to the elder's den, you will need a new mentor. I have chosen Leafhusk for this. Leafhusk, you have proven yourself to be a reliable and assured warrior, and it's time you have an apprentice of your own. I expect you to pass on all you know to Adderpaw." She waits for them both to meet at the front to touch noses, smile still resting on her face, before she dips her head to her clan. "You're all dismissed. Remember, please be careful," She finishes with a cautious glance upwards before she begins her descent to the ground.

// mentor reassignment @adderpaw @leafhusk

Adderpaw sat himself at Howlingstar's announcement, tail tucking itself in underneath large paws for a comfortable warmth. However, it didn't seem the news reflected that same feeling. Wolves had slaughtered an innocent clanmate, and now kits were being strewn around their territory. Oh, how great. He hadn't known Acronwish personally, as the tomcat was never found around others unless he was forced to (like he how he had been called here against his will and had to participate instead of going back to his task of tidying up the apprentice den, which he had been looking forward to), but he wished her the best while she lay at rest in StarClan. Hopefully these wolves would be taken care of soon, and without him having to be involved. It would be nice to go out at night again to hunt insects.

He again didn't know the four apprentices who currently were receiving their warrior names, nor the kit who received his apprenticeship -- which in his mind concluded he did not have to cheer for them. Why should he cheer for someone who he doesn't know anything about? He didn't expect the same for him -- he couldn't even remember if anyone had cheered when he received his apprentice name. After hearing Thistlekit's name however, he questioned his memory for a moment as he struggled to recollect the name. Thistlekit -- no, Thistlepaw had been stuck in the medicine den for most of his time as a kit, and honestly he couldn't remember if he had ever seen the kit out and about in camp. He was never looking at anything but the ground or sky. It was an unfortunate circumstance, but Adderpaw wasn't going to give out a pity call even though he knew more about him than the other ThunderClanners.

Adderpaw allowed his ears to pin against his head at Howlingstar's call. Oh, how he had been dreading this moment. He had heard the rumors -- except, they weren't little white lies being spread around for enjoyment. They were true, and in a way that felt more painful to the apprentice; he would rather be confronted with a lie he could play along with than the truth. Indeed, it was true that Mossywing had retired to the elder den to avoid his mentor duties to Adderpaw, and he still felt a twinge of guilt whenever the thought crossed his fogged mind. He hadn't done anything intentionally to cause this event to transpire, he just... couldn't exactly perform to the levels a well-respected older warrior. The now elder would often find himself constantly repeating every step, every move to Adderpaw. Granted, the apprentice was asking from curiosity in order to become a great warrior... however, mental memorization was nothing compared to muscle memory. Adderpaw could not perform most of his moves correctly, and without any signs of wanting to see improvement in himself (by often getting distracted by the different bird calls that surrounded him above the trees, hidden in the dark branches with their mysterious calls, or sniffing the frogs that would land themselves near wet moss, or eavesdropping on the squirrels bickering up above, always wondering what they were arguing about), Mossywing decided it was his time to retire and pass his apprentice onto the next sorry soul. Adderpaw couldn't exactly blame him, but he did still hold a bit of distain for his former mentor for his decision.

Lifting his paws to move his tail, he gathered himself to his feet and made a crude attempt at walking casually to Highrock to meet his new reassigned mentor. Who would Howlingstar assign him? He didn't really have any opinions on the matter, or hopes for who he wanted. He wasn't all too interested in becoming a warrior anymore -- he just wanted to stay an apprentice for a while longer. Dipping his head as he turned to face whoever had stepped next to him, he stared at the ground as the name was announced: "Leafhusk." Leafhusk? He had heard about her, but didn't know much of her other than the fact that she was a kittypet. Adderpaw didn't... really know how to feel about kittypets. The tabby finally lifted his eyes to Leafhusk's before hesitating and awkwardly touching noses with her. He recalled wishing he never had to do that again when he first became an apprentice. Scoffing to himself, he turned towards the apprentice den and left right after Howlingstar announced the dismissal.

occ: sorry for adderpaw wishing to just go home during such serious shit he needs to understand when things are super serious fr 😭 😭

quickly, the announcements continued. she was proud to see the group earn their warrior names, it was deserved. maybe, this would serve as an example for those still stuck in the medicine den. when thistlepaw is apprenticed, she cheers along with the rest, as she had before, and prepares to slip away once it dies down. until howlingstar speaks again, and leafhusk sits back down.

she knew about the young tom. who hadn't? the poor kid, was to put it lightly, difficult. whispers around the warrior's den stated that adderpaw had been the drive for mossywing's retirement. whoever is assigned to him next will have their paws full.

suddenly, leafhusk can feel herself weighed down. her, a mentor? frankly, she never thought this day would come- the colorpoint blinks, bowing her head towards her leader and padding over to do the necessary fanfare. it feels unceremonious because adderpaw bounds away before she can put a word in. an interesting start to new beginnings with her and the apprentice.

Nerves had turned her stomach into a ball of frantic butterflies for days now, in anticipation of her long-awaited naming ceremony. Twelve moons, she had been dreaming of and impatiently waiting for this day. Her training had been long and at times brutal, but it prepared her for this exact moment, when she now felt entirely ready to be made a full warrior of Thunderclan. She had known from her infancy that she would gladly give her life in service of this great clan, and now she would finally have the opportunity to prove it.

Her paws tingled as she settled in beside her friends, three of which would also be receiving their names today; Lightpaw, Badgerpaw, and Phloxpaw. She'd shared a den with them all her life, and it was truly an honor to be taking this next step with them. It saddened her greatly that Lovepaw and Joypaw weren't going to be with them today, and she shouldered some guilt for making that happen. But at the same time, she felt relief at knowing they were all at least alive, and that was far better than the alternative.

Palepaw's ears perked eagerly as Howlingstar appeared and began addressing the group, first warning them to be wary of the recent wolf sightings in the area. She felt a chill run up her spine at the thought of Acornwish's tragic death. What a terrible end to meet, so soon after leaving apprenticehood behind. She would do her best in the coming moons, as a new warrior, to protect her clanmates and herself from these terrifying beasts. Hopefully they would grow bored of their hunt soon and move on, preferably far away.

But her attention was soon dragged away to happier thoughts as their leader then announced the quartet of apprentices that were to be named today. She called them all forward, and alongside her friends, Palepaw anxiously stepped up. She'd been worrying over her warrior name for moons now, and prayed to Starclan that she would be granted on that reflected one of her stronger qualities. Howlingstar read them each their vows, and time seemed to almost stand still as she waited with bated breath for her turn to reply. Finally, the dark tabby's eyes fell upon her. "I do," she exhaled softly, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

And then, suddenly, time began to speed by once more and they were each given their full warrior names. Lightflower. Badgerstripe. Phloxdawn. She was next. Her heart pounded fiercely in her chest as she looked up into Howlingstar's deep green gaze, straining he ears to hear as her new name danced from her leader's mouth. Palefire... Determination and headstrong personality. She liked it. It suited her well, it felt... strong. Her chest puffed up with confidence and emotion flooded her eyes as she whispered to Howlingstar a quiet "thank you." As she moved back to join the rest of her clanmates, her bright blue gaze scanned the crowd for her mentor. Nightbird had gotten her here, and she wanted to see that the lead warrior was proud of her.

Roeflame could not suppress the excitement that sparked an eager gait as she made her way towards Highrock. Lightpaw was to become a warrior today, and from what had been shared with the tabby queen- her former apprentice had excelled in her hunting assessment, just as Roeflame had always been sure she would, despite the timid apprentices hesitance when it came to combat.
Still, the she-cat could only hope that experience would soon sharpen those skills.
Howlingstar begins the meeting with the wolves, with the story of Acornwish’s death. It’s troubling, tragic, and Roeflame lets her head bow for a heartbeat.
Raccoonstripe is named the temporary deputy now that Flamewhisker has settled into the nursery alongside her and Moonwhisper, and Roeflame isn’t truly all that surprised. The striped tom was a fierce and seasoned warrior, plenty capable to fill Flamewhiskers pawsteps.
Then… then the graduating apprentices are called forward, and Roeflame is instantaneously sitting upright, watching excitedly as Lightpaw makes her way forward, makes the ceremonial vow.
Lightflower Howlingstar deems the new warrior, and Roeflame could not think of a more fitting name. Burnstorms own apprentice is named Badgerstripe, and the queen gives her mate a light nudge.
By the end of the meeting Thunderclan has gained four talented warriors and a new apprentice, Thistlepaw.
Roeflame is shameless in her bias when she chants her former apprentices name the loudest.
“Lightflower! Phloxdawn! Badgerstripe! Palefire!
Racoonstripe!
Thistlepaw!”

Rainsweptblossom´s ears perked up at Howlingstar´s words. She tipped her head to one side, bewilderment flashing through her blue gaze. She glanced at Roeflame, who was cheering for the cats that ThunderClan´s Leader had named.

´´Lightflower! Phloxdawn! Badgerstripe! Palefire! Raccoonstripe! Thistlepaw!´´ The mottled dark ginger she-cat´s chants were quiet, but loud enough to be heard by the cats surrounding her.
