So far on this journey Mouseflight thought that climbing the cliff would be his least favorite part. Sure he had almost been killed in a rockslide and thrown into a cave with seemingly no way to escape, but at least there he wouldn't have fallen to his death by making one wrong turn, and at least in there he had use of both his eyes - or as much use as one could get from both while put in complete darkness. What he hadn't expected was for some trees to be what he hated most thus far. There was no place for him to sleep where he could see the stars, he couldn't fully tell what time of day it was the leaves so thick that it blocked out a lot of sunlight when they moved during the day, and don't get him started on the winding roots and plants that covered the forest floor, causing the WindClanner to constantly trip as they all shuffled through the new territory they were forced to go through to get home.
He was happy when they stopped at night, ready to make camp and go to sleep. Maybe with a bit of rest he would be better at moving, be able to pick up his paws more so that he didn't trip and stumble on the hidden roots under the fallen leaves. The only good thing was that despite it still being cold, there was less and less snow as they worked their way back down the mountain and the ground got less and less frozen, causing cats to spread out more as they readied themselves for the night. He'd never admit it but Mouse missed the huddles of cats that piled together in the cold to keep each other warm. It had felt like they were a proper clan then going through leafbare together, and it had helped with his homesickness.
Finding it hard to go to sleep that first night in the forest, Mouseflight was thinking of home and wondering how many cats would actually still be there when they got back when he heard a strange noise coming from... everywhere. Head shot up and the small cat looked around, eyes wide and ears quickly swiveling around as he tried to find the source. Unrecognizable whispers and strange whistling noises moved around them, and quickly Mouse found himself prodding at the cat next to him. "Do you hear that?" Strained whisper came from him, hoping that he was simply just going crazy so he could try and sleep.

- it's just the wind blowing through the trees! Cats not used to the forest likely wouldn't know what it is either ~
