Spiderbloom wasn't sure how to feel about Milkpaw's punishment. Was Weaselclaw implying being around her was punishment????? Was she bad company??? She had been laying in here with her thoughts for far too long. She knew that wasn't it. Milkpaw had done a whole bunch of yelling at his mentor, and from what she had overheard, she could sympathize with him. She knows what its like to never be good enough. The way it was handled did irk her, the way some cats rushed to the defense of Dewmist instead of Milkpaw. Couldn't they see there was a problem? That the pair didn't work out?

That Milkpaw was being forced to live in his sisters shadow every time someone told him to be more like her?

It wasn't her place to speak out. Best she could do was try to make Milkpaw's stay in the nursery a bearable one. Try. Her kits likely had their own plans and whether Milkpaw would survive this punishment was up to the stars themselves.

The biggest obstacle for Spiderbloom was.... Asking for help. She was supposed to just. Ask Milkpaw to do things for her??? But she could do it herself..... Hm.

"I hope you have enough energy to keep up with my kits....Because they certainly aren't lacking."
She said. Now that she thought about it, she was pretty tired, wasn't she?

((Wait for @milkpaw !))

Milkpaw was not happy with his punishment. But he supposed that's what it just was. Can't take the kits out of camp. Can't spar with the kits. What the hell was he supposed to do with them? Though, he was hardly bigger than them.

He had already heard the whispers and giggles of Milkkit. It was all happening again, wasn't it. Awaiting his apprentice ceremony alllll oooovvrerrrrr again.

Starclan, he was annoyed. But as the queen spoke he gave a grin. A fake one but a grin nonetheless. "Yeah of course, sleep. By all means." He said, the grin remaining despite his voice emotionless. Tired and drawn out.

He didn't mind spiderblooms kits. But the fact was, he knew there were eyes on him. And he sure wasn't deaf.

"So what do you guys wanna do," he asked a sigh in his breath.

His tail still drooped when he walked around, and it was very obvious he was unhappy. But his expression always said otherwise. A mask. That's all he needed to make it through.

──⇌•〘 INFO Wolfsong wasn't present for Milkpaw's blunder, but he had heard of it by way of mouth. How accurate the information is he can't say— all he knows is Weaselclaw and Sootstar saw fit to punish him, and it is not Wolfsong's place to question whether the outcome truly fit the circumstances. All things considered, it is not so harsh a punishment to bear, and in fact, not all that different from one he gave to Snakepaw.

He can only hope Milkpaw does not grow to have more in common with that apprentice.

He's decided to check in on the nursery. He's fond of Spiderbloom's kits, though he tends to get along well with most children in general; their young minds often provide entertainment, not yet shaped by expectations or etiquette.

His one-eyed stare shifts between Spiderbloom and Milkpaw, and he assumes the apprentice is now tasked with watching them. He hadn't managed to overhear their earlier conversation. "I think we should test how many kits Milkpaw can carry on his back."

hollykit had awaken from a nap to a new resident in the nursery. milkpaw, the apprentice. who was not a kit. plenty of apprentices were in and out of the nursery, none moved their nest in. maybe he was a queen? a little young, but the black she-kit did not yet have a strong grasp on the requirements for pregnancy. milkpaw asked what they wanted to do, but she didn't respond. her green eyes dazed as she found herself deep in thought. wolfsong offered a challenge, and although her ears pricked slightly at the proposition she couldn't find herself able to move on with life until she had an answer to this looming question. "are you pregnant?" she blurted out finally, eyes narrowed in on the rosetted apprentice suspiciously.

Scorchstreak has not slacked on her duties entirely; she still patrols the tunnels as much as she can, though she no longer allows herself to work until she practically collapses. So when her duties for the day are done, she seeks out her brand-new nest in the nursery, instead of more work. She happens to be lazing about—resting, some would call it, but it feels lazy to the typically hardworking calico—when she hears Milkpaw speak up.

It is rather interesting, to her, that she’s no longer the newest occupant of the nursery. The rosetted apprentice has been… demoted, in some way. She isn’t certain what the exact reasoning for his punishment is, but she knows that it has something to do with disrespect toward his mentor. Scorchstreak is glad that Weaselclaw assigned a tough punishment for the apprentice, although she does wish that it hadn’t forced her to deal with him, if only in passing. At least Spiderbloom is the one who he’s meant to help.

When Hollykit asks whether the pale tom is pregnant, Scorchstreak sits up suddenly in her nest. "Oh, dear," she says, her voice uncharacteristically soft as she lifts a dark paw to her mouth—an attempt to disguise her amusement with the kit. "No, Hollykit, he isn’t pregnant." Her tone holds no sharpness, no pointed correction. It’s only a quiet fondness, an appreciation of the innocent kithood that is allowed to thrive even in the turmoil of WindClan. Soon, my own kits will be toddling around the nursery in the same way.

For ... reasons ... Badgermoon had been avoiding the nursery of late. Or, at least, he had been avoiding being seen near the nursery. As a tomcat with no kits of his own, he hardly had reason to be there anyway, other than to offer a friendly word to the queens or monitor an apprentice's chores. However, over the last few weeks he had, perhaps, been making a few additional visits, bearing fluffy nest-building materials or plump pieces of prey, always left near Scorchstreak's newly-designated space when no one was around: the new queen had a secret admirer, it seemed. He had no intentions of dwelling on the thought, and it was with great reluctance that the deputy edged towards the group of WindClanners around Milkpaw. The boy had gotten himself into quite a bit of trouble, so he had heard, and had been relegated to the nursery. Perhaps it's not the worst thing. thought the black-and-white tom with a start, a frown darkening his features. The (ex?) apprentice looked barely any different from Spiderbloom's kittens. Perhaps it would be better for everyone if we...waited. Started them later, or...let them be kits a little longer?

He dismissed the thought as quickly as it arrived and offered Hollykit a small grin, nodding in agreement as Scorchstreak asserted that, no, Milkpaw was not pregnant. "WindClan apprentices must behave themselves if they want to stay WindClan apprentices. Some cats act out, and must return to the nursery for a while, to relearn important lessons about things like respect and dedication." Badgermoon spoke in a gentle fashion, though his eyes were stern: he didn't want to publicly shame the rosetted tabby nor scare Hollykit, but he did think this could be a teachable moment. "Milkpaw will sleep in here, with you all, and will help your mother with whatever she needs." he allowed a small smile to appear on his face and glanced over at Wolfsong. "Now, I don't know about you all, but I'd like to see Milkpaw be the kitten express."

A quiet giggle slips past the boys lips, though he means no harm - eyes glittering with warmth and mirth. He doesn't know why milkpaw is getting punished this time - though, he certainly gets up to more than enough trouble that he doesn't even question it. A familiar face to the nursery, he'd stopped by to hide away - the excuse of helping out the queens as good a reason as any to not have to socialize with the more suspicious of his clanmates. He's tired of their gazes following his every movement. At least spiderbloom doesn't seem to hate him simply for his kin. "y-y-you shouldn't as-k cats if th-they're pregnant," he says cheerily, head tipping to the side as he crouches for a moment, blinking at hollykit. "s-s-sometimes, c-cats will g-get really mad at y-y-you for it, 'n it's c-c-condsider-d rude," he advises gently. He's never made that blunder, but he's seen his fair share of toms get cuffed by their mates for commenting on their, er-, size.

❪ TAGS ❫"Milkpaw isn't pregnant. He's just a harebrain." Snakepaw taunts as he lingers near the maw of the nursery, emerald gaze piercing straight forward at the rosette-spotted tom. The midnight black apprentice knows damn well that Milkpaw couldn't possibly retort back at him now, not when Badgermoon and two other lead warriors were present. If Snakepaw found enjoyment in anything, it was having the upper hand against a rival. No, the cream-colored menace was not his enemy in the sense of war and battle, but in the sense of wanting to utterly strangle his own denmate. Former denmate now, he should say.

A shit-eating grin plasters itself across a black maw, Snakepaw now jeering toward Milkpaw, "It looks like you took my 'running back to the nursery' advice quite literally then, hm?" He refers to when Milkpaw had been caught trying to sneak two of Spiderbloom's kits out of camp. He had wanted to play with them so badly and now his wish had been granted. How perfect!

In Juniperkit's opinion, he is quite pleased to have the company of all his favorite cats gathered within the nursery. Periwinklebreeze and Wolfsong are always fun to hang out with, and Snakepaw tells the coolest stories. Even though Milkpaw got in trouble for it, Juniperkit feels very grateful to him for including him in an adventure. Juniperkit loves playing with his siblings, but it doesn't really compare to the gratification of older cats deeming him worthy enough to include him in Older Cat Activities. Of course, no matter how cool his clanmates are, no one compares to Spiderbloom. Which is why he is confused by Snakepaw's derisive, mocking tone. The nursery is cool cuz his mom is here! This is his home! Milkpaw should be running back here because obviously the nursery is the best place in Windclan. Indignant, Juniperkit darts from his comfy spot between his mom's paws and starts trying to bite Snakepaw's ankles. That will teach him!

How big did they think he was? They must think he was pretty big and strong if they thought he could carry multiple kits. "Why not," he responded. It couldn't be that hard to try to carry them. He didn't know how it was possible, but he'd try to figure it out to impress the children.

His ears flattened as one of the children however blurted out asking if he was pregnant. Other felines stepped in, and he just lifted a lip in a disgusted manner, before shaking his head. They did not understand that stuff yet. He barely did. You have to like, kiss and stuff to get pregnant. He wanted to reach thinking of it.

What seemed like a growl would come from the small toms chest as Snakepaw seemed to snake his way to the den to humiliate him some more. "You little-" Though his words were cut off as his blue eyes glanced towards Scorch streak, gritting his teeth and choosing to bite his tongue. Sure the nursery was fun, when it wasn't a punishment to be in here. "Yes, I get to play with them all the time, while still being able to train to be a proper apprentice. Beats sleeping in a den and having my nose be filled with your stench. More of a reward for myself as well," He said, rolling his eyes and covering his nose with a paw to enunciate that Snakepaw would stink.

"Now, how about the Milkpaw Express?" he asked, forcing a grin to Spiderblooms kits, and lowering down so they could try to climb on his back. "The rides going to be bumpy!" he warned.
