KEEP YOUR HEAD UP [open- gathering chatter -10/14/22]

Among the incessant flow of cats gathering, she found herself drowning. Conversing with others was not something she feared.. when she began, words would fall from her mouth like regurgitated alphabet soup. It would take the most patient of cats to sit with her on her most chatty nights; those were few and far between now. Engaging interactions were hard to come by, but she was sure someone would say something so bewildering it would keep her up at night.

A girl can dream!

For now, she tilted her chin upwards and absorbed every bit of chatter that she could. It was so lively tonight.

His gaze swept @hyacinthbreath carefully, but he could detect nothing on her expression or tone that might signify otherwise. Either WindClan WAS doing well or it wasn't and her impressive facade of indifference would lead to nothing. Smokethroat vaguely wondered if things had calmed down with Sootstar's nonsense but felt it better to wait and see. He was sure if it escalated then it would be obvious soon.
The SkyClan tom's comment was unsurprising, while he would prefer a gathering be peaceful for once it was clear there was always going to be something going on; though he himself was not aware of a lot of it. RiverClan had dealt with enough of their own troubles that he didn't care about the other clans and once their troubles sorted they had enjoyed a long stretch of peace and calm like one did before any storm. Storms...
Smokethroat closed his eyes, forced the image of rolling white and gray clouds against a black sky down out of his mind once more. It seemed everytime he even had a passing thought about something he associated with the spotted phantom he was thinking of starlight and his head filled with bees.
"Well..." He forced himself back into focus, "Good for the lot of you. Hopefully it stays that way come leaf-bare." When the river froze up they would be ice-fishing to a degree and their own prey would dwindle significantly but with so many skilled fishes and other ways to fill their bellies he was sure it would be fine in the end. RiverClan's first leaf-bare would not be its last.
"We're doing well." Though he supposed if they weren't he would have said the same, but his tone was genuine-his clan was rather content this past moon for the most part with only a few scares. "Quite a few kits being apprenticed soon, thankfully I still have my paws full with mine."
If he was given another apprentice the second his became warriors he would be annoyed.
