-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- "oh, oh! this is a perfect one! okay, okay! up you go little rock."

orangepaw excitedly picked up the cool shaped and colored rock in his jaw, heading quickly back to camp with it clenched gently to keep it firmly in place. his tail sways behind him as he walks with a bounce and skip in his step– it helps with his hind leg to keep the weight off of it– and he looks around. he's looking for a very specific cat. he's grumpy, and seemingly brash, but orangepaw seemed pretty oblivious to it. or rather... he just didn't want to believe that addersnap didn't like him.

"aarrnnnap!"

his voice is muffled by the rock, and as he comes to a halt, he puts the rock at the warrior's paws, standing up straight up and rolling his shoulders forward with a wide toothy smile as his ears press backwards.

"hi! i got you a rock! do you like it? it made me think of you! it's cool, like you! I hope you like it because it took me like alllll day to find it but if you don't like it, that's okay too! I can find you another!"

Friends did not come so easily to Addersnap. The boy didn't exactly have a line of clanmates out the warriors' den entrance waiting just to ask to be his friend. It wasn't in his nature to desire to speak with others about his feelings or worries, his darkest secrets or deepest regrets. Growing up alienated by your family wasn't going to shape you up to be able to handle 'friends' correctly. His choice in making Wrathpaw a friend was a good example of that, the mere thought of the forsaken soul twisting his stomach in knots. Deerpaw was the only one who he felt he could tolerate, that he could connect with and relate to. He didn't really need anyone else but that, did he?

"Aarrnnnap!" A groan left his throat as Orangepaw's call announced the young boy's energetic presence. They hadn't trained together much considering the age gap, therefore Addersnap didn't have much of a formulated opinion on the sunlit apprentice. Other than the collected ideas that he was an irritable kit who liked to inconvenience others while they did their duties. The umber tabby wasn't doing anything important although when Orangepaw plopped the stone in between his paws, golden hues transfixed on the spotted white object now beneath him with a quizzical stare. "..." Silence fell over the warrior as he let Orangepaw finish, giving a little extra time so the tom could get his energy out. "Uhm... thhh... thanks? What -- uh -- what is 't fo'?" Addersnap didn't exactly know how else to reply.

-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- his head tilts off to the side as addersnap speaks, quizzically questioning the reason for having a rock in the first place. his tail sways back and forth as he grins widely, teeth shining in the smallest bits of light. he can't help his childish giggles, as his ears push back on his head.

"it's to collect, silly! see, I gotsa ton of them. rocks, and feathers, and even some realllllly cool sticks. i like to put them in my nest, because sometimes I think about how my mom used to bring me stuff to play with. she... got me a, uhm, mouse bone once! it was very cool, and though I don't have it anymore, I still think about it. see, rocks are permanent. and sometimes we just need permanence in our lives to remember. I have a rock that reminds me of my mom. a feather, too. so, that's what it's for."

he turns away for a moment, brows furrowing.

"you don't collect things, do you? do you want to try? I can help you."
