  • Moonwhisper x Lightstrike
xxxxxxxxOh, when the sun loves the moon - Never touching but never far.

☾ ゚。 ⋆ Born to Blazestar and Little Wolf when the clans formed, Moonkit was the twin of Morningkit and sibling to Fireflykit, Howlkit and Burnkit. They frequently went between clans to visit each parent when Blazestar stepped up as SkyClan leader but when they became apprentices this division of loyalty was put into question during a border skirmish that resulted in Morningpaw's death. Lost with the death of her twin, Moonpaw was a meek and quiet apprentice and chose to remain with her mother and brother in ThunderClan after Emberstar established the first code to prevent another tragedy such as this from occuring by insisting cats remain loyalty to one clan and one clan only. Under the training of her uncle Raccoonstripe, Moonpaw developed a deepseated dislike for her kittypet heritage and her father chosing to lead his clan over joining ThunderClan to keep their family together and her quiet nature gave way to a silent fury. Lightpaw, the very cat her sister died to save, was one of her close friends at the time and the two would talk about their strict and pushy mentors together at length. When they became warriors, Lightstrike would volunteer to go on the journey to save the clans from yellowcough shortly after and leave her with the realization she missed his company more than she'd admit outloud. Moonwhisper threatened him to come back to her alive before they parted ways.

⋆。 ゚☼ Lightkit, formerly known as just Light during the creation of the Clans, was the single kit born to his litter, youngest of three other siblings. Troubled at a young age as a result of wobbly familial experiences and being thrust into the paws of the strict Nightbird, Lightpaw's frustrations would often mount explosively. His first experience in true battle would be the SkyClan border skirmish that would lead to the formation of the warrior code. It was the opposing Snowpaw who had swung at him with a drastic blow of unclear intentions. Regardless of whether it had meant to kill or not, kill it did. Lightpaw had remained unscathed, as it was Morningpaw who took the blow in his stead. This battle would leave him struggling with feelings of guilt, regret, and anger for much of his life. It would result in his early friendship with Moonpaw, a misguided effort to make amends for his failure, one that both he and she was unaware of. While it resulted in a true friendship, there would be no denying that the basis was his feelings about Morningpaw's death. As they grew older and became warriors, Lightstrike was quick to step up and go on the journey to seek the herb needed to save the forest...

°°° Upon his return the two grew close once again, hunting and patroling together in a casual and close friendship as Moonwhisper grappled with feelings of jealousy and confusion. While sunbathing at Sunningrocks together they confessed in a very chaotic and awkward manner after having idle chitchat on a discussion relating to kits and one thing lead to another...

↳ named for her reddish orange patches of fur
— although scarlet is heavily preferred (I would do red, but avoid repeat prefixes even from other clans), I'd also be interested in the prefixes claw, birch, berry, violet, bark, meadow, and brown (as long as none are present on any clan census at time of choosing)
— thunderclan kit
— she-cat, AFAB, she/her (does not accept any other pronouns); will be lesbian
moonwhisper x lightstrike, sister to ???

a longhaired brown, ginger, and white she-cat with split blue-and-orange eyes. Scarletkit is a thin chocolate tortoiseshell with pointy, tufted ears. Her eyes are both split down the middle between bright orange and pale blue. Tufts of long fur flow from her temples and cheeks and dip below her chin, swept back to stay out of her face. Her brown fur is two-toned, a result of chimerism. White markings mottle her body; she bears it on her paws, underside, face and tail. Slender black whiskers sit delicately beneath an ebony nose. She stands at average height and bears a thick pelt thanks to her parents. It is obvious by her svelte stature that she has not fully grown into her body.
↳ LH chocolate tortoiseshell/chocolate w/ low white / carrying point, cinnamon, dilute / 25% Ragdoll

( + ) quick-witted, driven, passionate ( / ) fierce, competitive, opinionated, compliant ( - ) conceited, vain, distrustful Scarletkit is a bright and competitive she-cat with a passionate drive to succeed and rise to the best. As a child, she is initially soft and kind, enjoying playing with others in the nursery even if they aren't necessarily approved by her mother. However, she is desperate to live up to her parents' expectations of her, which down the line will lead her to covering up her more sensitive traits and put on a rather mean mask. She will become very proud and arrogant, to the point of being boastful, haughty, and confrontational. She will take pride in her heritage and will try to use it as a bragging right to get what she wants. She will become vindictive, and won't take kindly to anyone who she perceives to be stealing her spotlight - because as we remember, she must be the best. She will not be the most responsible cat and will struggle to admit when she is at fault thanks to her pride.
mannerisms: submissive around her mother; enjoys stories; smiles a lot, but these will become fewer as she ages
— will start fights | will end fights | will not flee | will show mercy
— (will) excel at balance, stalking, and hunting (subject to change depending on mentor)

plots:
— Scarletkit makes a childhood friend in the nursery! But Moonwhisper doesn't approve of her new friend, frowning upon their bloodline...Looks like Scarletkit needs to push them away and make some new friends.
— Grows to be a rude and arrogant apprentice who constantly tries to be the very best in training, likely to receive many enemies.
— Comes to realize she doesn't need to be so awful, and that she was only acting this way to live up to her mother's expectations. A change of heart might be in order.
— Admiration for her father, probably accidentally ends up closer to him than her mother. Even still, wants to make both of her parents proud.

MEADOWKIT; when a flower grows wild it can always survive
Loud, opinionated, confrontational. Meadowkit has a big heart but some may say an even bigger attitude. She is not afraid to speak her mind, not afraid to tell others when she thinks they are wrong or leap to the defense of another (whether it is wanted or not). Sometimes, others may say that she has a bad habit of sticking her nose where it doesn't belong but really, she just has everyone's best interests at heart. She is right all the time, or so she thinks, and sorry is not a word often found in her vocabulary.
    ⤷ named for her grandmother
    AFAB; she / her
    kitten of thunderclan
    alternate names : mountainkit, hollykit

A longhaired red tabby and white she cat with green eyes / TOYHOUSE
Meadowkit is a large she cat, most of her bulk being comprised of silky red tabby fur, with paws daintier than her size would suggest. As she grows, her limbs will make her appear awkward and lanky and her broad shoulders will eventually catch up making her rather tall and stocky as she ages. The tabby stripes on her forehead are a deep red, which stick out from the warm ginger that adorns the rest oh her body. Splitting her face in half and pooling around her muzzle is a creamy white, the same white that adorns her chest. It also makes an appearance in a long stripe running down the length of her back, engulfing her tail. additionally, she wears the same white as stockings on the end of her long legs and underneath her eyes in splashes and dots. Her eyes are a bright green color, reminiscent of her father or even, some say, her late grandmother.

As she wishes to imitate her mother, Meadowkit can sometimes be found with flowers and leaves woven into her fur
  • tj29Cyk.jpeg

    LOYAL / CONFIDENT / HONEST / DETERMINED / EXTRAVERTED / COMPETITIVE / CONFRONTATIONAL / DEFENSIVE / VAIN / VOLATILE
Meadowkit is probably one of the most on again off again friends one will ever have in their life. She is incredibly loyal, down to her very core. If she loves you, she will do anything for you and that really does mean anything. So long as it is within the realm of rules set by her clan. If there's a problem, she'll fix it and she will not stop until she does. All that being said, as loyal as she is to the ones she loves she is loyal to her clan first. Don't let her catch you doing something you're not supposed to or clue her in on any secrets because Meadowkit will be the first one to run to a grown up or authority figure and tell. Some say she is a massive stick in the mud, but she will insist she is doing it with your best interests at heart. The grown ups know what is best, after all. Honesty is perhaps her strongest trait. To lie feels like a perversion of herself and this specific aspect of her personality is what makes it so difficult to keep a secret. Sometimes, she will not go out of her way to blab if there is no immediate threat of harm, but if asked she will not conceal the truth.

In her early kithood, Meadowkit will be trying her best to imitate her mother. She will spend an agonizing time over her fur, a trait that will stick later on until her adult years as she grows a slight vanity about her looks. She prides herself in keeping clean, in staying on top of the knots that try their best to form in her silky pelt. She will do her best to also imitate her mothers aloof personality, but in this endeavor she will not prevail. In the end, her extraverted nature will win out. She has a certain confidence in the way she does everything, some may say she is over confident in her abilities, boastful to the point of arrogance, but just look at who her family is, can you blame her? She is extremely competitive and wants to come out on top in everything she does. Anything you can do she believes she can do better and if you dare say otherwise, she is not opposed to proving you wrong with claws and teeth. She is extremely confrontational, a deep seeded belief that she is always right no matter the situation stemming from that confidence mentioned earlier. If anyone were to ever dare say otherwise she gets defensive, a quality that is not difficult to bring out in her. But what doesn't set her off one day could the next, one can never be quite certain around Meadowkit.

prone to bouts of anger, doesn't like saying sorry as that admits fault. As a kit, she will get into many brawls and squabbles, often wanting to prove that she is right no matter the situation. However, she has a high respect for authority. As always, this is just a template and is subject to change as the character ages.

tentative notes...

patchkit, clawkit, branchkit
they/them (afab) chocolate tortoiseshell with beady orange eyes
- mostly chocolate with orange flecks
- not the sharpest claw on the cat, and not even particularly kind to make up for it. relatively naive and struggles to make connections between events/pieces of knowledge
- large, brutish, think brindled mastiff. follows orders pretty well but has a difficult time thinking of what to do on their own, needs to be told what to do
- courageous to a fault though and loyal till the end. a good minion/bodyguard. treat them right once and they stay with you forever
- on the quiet side in normal conversation, but doesn't mince their words when they do speak
- holds self to high standards, tries their best always! the best minion

As though her parent's love split her down the middle, Meadowkit is almost entirely half ebony and half ginger tabby- the dark side of the moon meets the light of a morning sky. She'll start life as quite small, but much like her mother she holds the tell-tell neck scruff of her ragdoll genes, alluding to a massive growth spurt in her future.

  • INTRODUCE THE BABY

  • NEAT + GENEROUS + ANALYTICAL
    - AMBITIOUS - NOSEY - OBLIVIOUS

Mead's the kinda soul you'd want on your corner, always quick to offer a helping paw and happily sharing, if not giving away, anything she has for the simple joy of making others smile. She makes sure to keep things neat and proper from her nest to her play to any kind of work she does around camp. You'll often find the little scamp bustling about, chasing after apprentices and warriors and squeaking about what she can do to help!

Meadowkit is a child who's kindness extends past verbal sweetness and into every physical act she offers, always being careful with her steps and touch to ensure she never hurts anyone whether that be by avoiding tails or being a bit too easy to defeat during kitten sparring. But if you ever call that out she'll bashfully deny, always eager to praise her neighbor before herself just to see them smile! But while Meadowkit's heart is clearly a big part of her personality, don't get her wrong - her eyes are always observing. She's a child who works surprisingly often with logic and fact more than anything and learns as quick as a falcon can dive when she sets his mind to it. Though she still remains very naïve to the world, there are notes of the beginnings of quite the smarty pants in her future!

No child is perfect, and though Mead gets quite close to being an angel in the clan's midst, even she has some traits others might find a bit...irritating. Mead's biggest flaw is her curiosity. The little gal just LOVES to learn, especially the intimate details of day-to-day life. She runs the risk of being more of a gossip hound than the most talkative elders as she chases scoop after scoop, longing to prove she's worthy of holding secrets even though her insistence to be told them can bring down her arguments of being "old enough" to know. A lot of the times her nosiness does come from a place of kindness as she always uses the information she has to try and help or comfort others, but other times her hunger for information hunting can cause her to irritate more than assist. It doesn't help that it often takes sitting her down and laying it out very clearly that her actions are hurting others before the little tyke can finally wrap her head around it, as before that she can struggle to 'read the room' or know when her kindness has become overbearing. But more notably than anything is this hidden competitive streak within the kid, one fueled by the beginning embers of a need to be smarter, better and one day even stronger than the rest - for how best can she help lift others up if she's not on the very top herself?

  • BEAUTIFUL BEAST
In her apprenticeship, she'll have an impressive growth spurt that'll lead her to be not only taller but much bulkier than expected from those her age. Meadowpaw will be quite clumsy in her youth, which was fine when she was a cute kitten, but in her days as an adolescent will come at the detriment of most in her path as she often accidentally hits a lot harder than she intends, always instinctively using more of her weight in her movements than she realizes.
Very early into her apprenticeship, she'll accidentally hurt a fellow apprentice, potentially a smaller more fragile one, but the fact that she hurt them will leave her quite paralyzed to the idea of ever entering a real fight with a cat.
Can her mentor help her channel her strength into becoming a useful warrior or will her fear leave her balking when her clanmates need her the most?

hrmmmm thoughtful track

with quietkit who does not speak beneath a dull roar for most of her kithood. ironic names my beloved! might be hard of hearing honestly now that I'm stream of consciousness writing this out. struggles with this factor in apprenticeship, known as a kind of pitied peer in hunting. will focus on fighting to even this out in hopes they don't fail their assessment. will be going to their parents in frustration about it.

- I genuinely have no idea what their agab is & it should be left ambiguous but they're either a tortie or a black/red chimera. one blue one green eye? low white because I cannot help myself against funky white spotting. probably. false point???? thinkin. colours to be picked/adjusted from parents. other, funnier option is what if I just red/red chimera them.

if one is remembered by a friend,
Graykit . Graypaw . Graywolf, -heart, -howl?, sentimental or family suffixes

R2q0i7r.png
↳ after his pelt, and great-grandfather, Gray Wolf
— Kit of ThunderClan
— Male, he/him, homosexual, monogamous
Lightstrike x Moonwhisper, sibling to ??? and ???

Long-haired black tom with low white. Gray is a long-haired black tom with his father's green eyes. All ragdoll traits seem to have skipped him, leaving him one of, if not the, smallest in the litter. Though short in comparison to his family, Gray would be of average height and build once he has grown. Though not notably handsome, there is a maturity that develops with Gray that can be attractive to those looking for a down-to-earth partner.
↳ carrying point, chocolate, dilute

Outside of the Gray Wolf persona that he creates for himself (see development), at his barest Gray is a very kind, sociable tom with a hidden talent for caring for kits. He carries with him the unwavering belief that there is good in everyone, holding onto that mantra to a fault. He puts his family before anything else, wanting to see them succeed right alongside him - were that to come in conflict with "there is good in everyone", Gray would choose his family over any possible good that there might be in someone who wronged them.

As a kit starting out, Gray is your average kitten, full of endless energy and a lack of shame that allows him to ask any question that comes to mind. He enjoys taking charge in nursery games, despite being smaller than his littermates, and his personality more than makes up for the height he lacks. Occasionally Gray will have to be scolded for being too rough with the other kittens, and he takes these scoldings as a lesson and improves himself based on them.

During his apprenticeship is when Graypaw's real "Gray Wolf" persona will break through and become dominant - he wants to be a hero on equivalent footing as his great-grandfather, and he wants to prove to everyone that he's worthy of being part of the family that he was born into. While he acts like what he's pieced together of Gray Wolf, he takes on a generally heroic attitude and acts justly with little sense of self. This could annoy any mentor who wants to get to know their apprentice's true self.

As a warrior when he overcomes and breaks out of the Gray Wolf persona, Gray begins to show more of his own personality, which he is quick to find fault in; to him, he's too average and boring. Really, Gray does his best to improve himself every day by exploring kindness. He doesn't see himself as the hero that he tried so hard to be, and although he knows he's helping his Clan in the ways that he can, he still feels as though he's lacking in something.
mannerisms: Gray Wolf/"hero" persona
— will not start fights | will end fights | will not flee | will show mercy
— (will) excel at basic warrior responsibilities

spacer

Plots:
— Once Gray becomes aware of the fact that he's been named after his great-grandfather, he makes it his mission to imitate him in every way that he can - which already presents a problem, as Gray Wolf is no longer around to influence the young tom directly, and Gray must rely entirely on the stories told to him by his family to craft his idea of how Gray Wolf was in life. Growing up and creating his 'persona' of who he wants to and "should" be, Gray has little idea for what he truly wants outside of being his great-grandfather; rather troubling, when he also starts to hope his own death will be of infection after a meeting on the Thunderpath. Typically Gray will wave away any concerns or questions about what he wants, because giving the question much thought leaves him feeling rather empty and lost.
— I think it would be interesting to see or plan for someone close to Gray (romantic or familial) to help him set aside this persona that he's created as it grows more consuming over the moons. If taken in a romantic direction, this could solidify Gray's feelings for the other character. If taken in a familial direction, this could provide Gray with a confidant amongst family that he goes to when he doesn't know where else to turn.
