• THEIR STORY: Firefrost was born to Softwhisper and her mate, Clawscratch, the eldest of four. A fellow nursery resident at the time, Bloomkit, made a fast friend of him, and the two were inseparable ever since. Bloomkit helped Firekit stay out of trouble and not go overboard. Even as apprentices, Firepaw and Bloompaw were inseparable!
  
  Soon after he and his littermates became warriors, his parents' had a second litter consisting of one kit. Their joy was not meant to be, however, as Softwhisper and Clawscratch both died soon after. Despite this, Bloompaw, now Bloomheart, was there for Firefrost, helping him to stay true to himself and keep going forward. The two became mates. It was as many had guessed, the two had loved each other for a long time. Bloomheart was a warm and friendly cat, he loved to help others, mediate conflicts.
  
  Which is why it hurt so much more when such a bright tom was torn away from RiverClan, and Firefrost was left with a shattered heart. And yet, unknowingly, Bloomheart left him with a gift. Despite his reservations about being a good parent, Firefrost has vowed to do his best to raise his children. Perhaps they will be the key to healing...

  — the kitten, in his days learning to exist amongst the safety of the nursery, quickly makes himself known as the "why?" kitten. born curious, with wide eyes and swiveling ears, he takes in the world around him with the fascination of a otherworldly scientist. questions come, mostly, to those he's closest to, a side effect of shyness in his earliest days and later as an exercise of trust in an individual's judgement, the rest otherwise given the detached treatment of being an "observed subject matter". he will soon learn to hate being treated with "kitten gloves" and insist on calling out fancified half-truths and legends that "don't make any sense", and quickly molds into something of logistician, and will insist on being explained the plain truth.
  
  the flame of curiosity will flicker on within this kitten as he pads into adulthood, taking interest in other clans and outsider cats and their customs as well as strange animals he comes across. they are something of a hobbyist wildlife ecologist, willing to spend hours watching and theorizing about animal behavior, and curse the fact that they are not able to communicate with non-cats (not that he's all that skilled at speaking to those that understand him anyway but...)
  
  emotions are difficult. this is the case for any child but especially this particular one, who spends much of his time wrapped up in his internal world of rationality, and he is prone to intellectualizing his emotions rather than actually feel them. positioning themself mentally as an outside observer, they often feel awkward when attention is turned upon them, especially in matters of feelings and in socializing with their peers. he tends to dislike individuals he finds arrogant or self-aggrandizing, and on instinct is wary of stories involving "heros and villains". their commitment to impartiality to an inconvenient degree leads to a perhaps semi-justified perception as being judgmental or unsympathetic, but it remains his way of seeking a full understanding of the cats around them.

lilac tortoiseshell she-cat with yellow-green eyes. sharp-cut with a bristled edge, sunlitkit stands at a reasonable, if not average, height - all too large paws fumble below her, forcing her off-kilter when the only thing she wants to hold is an air of grace. sunlitkit's pelt is a light lilac color, painted over with brushstrokes of light cream and fawn. sharp, narrowed eyes hold olive yellow-greens, often furrowed into a scandalized expression. spiked bangs sweep over her forehead, another curling above her right eye. tufted, willowy eartips sprawl down, pinned back with her usual flattened ears. she has a large, dark gray, heart-shaped nose and a narrow muzzle that sweeps back into spindly side fluff.

loyal, hardworking, sensitive, compliant

when sunlitkit's positive traits show, they really shine through. despite being sensitive, at heart, sunlitkit is a fighter; she's loyal the the bone, works like a dog, and has her sights set on a seamless warriorship. because of this, as well as her loyalty to her family, she's very compliant with the warrior code and does whatever any adult tells her to. even if she gets into trouble, she's always the first to fess up - which makes her out to be a snitch, but she actually just doesn't want the influential cats in her life looking down on her for any reason. nonetheless, sunlitkit aims high and seems to never miss, and is a strong, able-bodied warrior in the making.

if there's one thing sunlitkit hates more than anything, it's conflict. she just wants a normal, boring life where nothing bad ever happens, and everyone does exactly what they're supposed to do. because of this way of thinking, sunlitkit is very reluctant to dip her paws into anything new or risky, and would rather take precautions, a "think first, act later" kind of cat. despite being blunt, she's quite private with how she feels deep down, and isn't one to tell someone that they hurt her feelings - she might yowl and complain until the sun sets, but she'll always forgive, and probably wind up right back into the situation she just grumbled about.

dismissive, critical, traditional, insecure

at her heart, sunlitkit is deeply insecure; her paws are too big, her nose is too wide, she doesn't have the graceful air she wants, doesn't compare to the other cats in riverclan. her insecurity can come off as jealousy, and though she does get reasonably jealous, she doesn't hold it against others - after all, she was born this way. even if all she wants to do is change herself. sunlitkit is also very traditional, expecting to grow up and have a mate and kits and be a good warrior - nothing more, nothing less. she's quite the critic (toward herself and others) and is usually dismissive about other cats and their experiences and feelings. if she's to be a good warrior, she needs to be perfect; nothing less will do, and she holds others to just as unreasonable a standard.

unlike most others her age, sunlitkit will be bound by one thing - the warrior code. strengthened by the code former leaders have laid down for her, sunlitkit believes that rules are everything, and breaking them brings a warranted punishment. as such, she has a rather conflict-averse view on life, and isn't one to toe the line on her own. however, with her more insecure nature, sunlitkit easily succumbs to peer pressure, even if she cracks sass and blunt comments the whole way there. she's very critical of others but, with her family and friends, does this in a more loving way - she only wants to look out for them, and has quite the protective streak inside. she has dreams to become the best warrior riverclan has ever seen, and is greatly interested in clan history; after all, she could learn a thing or two from her ancestors. sunlitkit is very close to her family and especially her father, and hopes to be as great as him one day.

my activity. i expect to be pretty active with this character, as i have quite the abundance of free time right now! i'm gonna be shooting for at least 5 threads per month, but this can exponentially grow based on my activity - nonetheless, i expect to roleplay with her quite a bit if i am to be chosen, and would love to get lots of plots and relationships going with others!

gender & orientation. sunlitkit's gender and orientation will ebb and flow with the story i weave for her, so i have nothing concrete on these quite yet! however, she is afab and will continue using she/her pronouns for quite some time, though these could eventually merge into she/they pronouns (far into the future).

staying in riverclan. i think this one will be easy - mainly because sunlitkit is so traditional, not one to step out of place, that she'll remain in riverclan for a long time - forever, even! i really want to work her into a fully-fledged riverclan warrior, and while i have no concrete future plans/plots, i'd really like to brainstorm and cook up something fun for her. but where her family stays, i would assume is where she'll stay! also also. tyvm for the opportunity <3 (also i hope i did this right as it's my first attempt at adopting a cat, so lmk if i need to change anything!!)

APPEARANCE.​

➸ a sturdy, muscular tom even from kithood, there is no doubting that flarekit will grow up to be a strong warrior. possessing a vibrant flame-colored pelt and intense amber eyes to match, he is aptly named for his physicality, easily conjuring up the idea of being a little flare of fire when looking at him. he is long-furred, with his red tabby coat being quite lush with a high white pattern dappling carving way onto his muzzle, chest, and underbelly.

MENTALITY.​

➸ to be frank, while flarekit easily embodies his name in terms of appearance, his personality is more cold than fiery. a stoic, calculative cat even in his youth, he is a cat of few words, preferring to observe rather than engage. even somewhat gruff, he is not the kind of cat you would go to if you needed a sympathetic word. but he's quietly loyal and determined, usually among the first to volunteer for the hardest task at paw, showing love through duty and actions rather than expressing them verbally. he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, but he is a devoted tom who will always be loyal to those who have shown him kindness, and to riverclan. he is not afraid to break the warrior code when necessary, unafraid of thinking for himself, though controversial opinions will likely be kept to himself or quietly enacted. he's not a debater, he is a doer.
