☾ ⋆*・゚ Everything was really noisy, and there were a lot of cats sleeping here, grumbling and snoring. Her pulse skipped a beat as each tiny sound poured into her ears, her tail tucked around herself tightly. Mama always said, 'Nose attracts predators’. She wouldn't be alone here now if she and her siblings were just a little bit quieter. With wide, scared eyes, Beetlekit creeps away from her nest and watches the other kits and queens slumber soundly from the nursery's corner.

Sleep clung to her small body, but Beetlekit couldn't fall asleep in the middle of so many cats—not like this, anyway. Beetlekit's droopy eyes were filled with sadness as she recalled the day her family was buried in the dirt, maybe if her mother and their siblings were still alive. She could sleep; the kit would give anything to sleep with them again. A little thought slid into her mind. If she got started digging now, she was sure that she'd reach them before sunrise. The determed kit made up her mind and yawned.

The black and brown kit gradually made its way out of the nursery, feeling relieved at the quietness of camp at night. The gentle sound of crickets calming her beating chest. As she walked, her eyelids closed till she bumped into something quiet and soft. Beetlekit climbed on top of the fresh kill pile and tucked in amongst the dead. She was still sound asleep when the sun rose into the sky and birds began to sing.

Windswept is how Dimmingsun likes it; the focal point of his home, that is. With leaf-fall's inevitable arrival, the breeze easily finds its way into the gorse-shielded camp, buffeting or caressing the warriors' fur — it all depends on how aggressive mother nature wishes to be that particular day. He is lulled into comfortable sleep with those invisible hands combing through the thickest parts of his fur.

His vigor come morning is no surprise. Whatever fatigue he had collected over yesterday's duties is no more; Dimmingsun has been reborn. Now he only needs a plump piece of prey to start his day off just right.

The pink of his nose goes through the fresh-kill pile, a low hum thrumming through his chest... and much to his shock, he finds the unlikely catch of a kit in there. Panic quickly leaves him at the first signs of a moving flank — and idly, Dimmingsun wonders how xenial the prey pile really is. Sure, if you're as small as Beetlekit, finding a spot there might not be too difficult... but there is good reason for the dips in the sand that WindClan prefers to call their bed. Is the nursery really this crowded?

Ever-jovial, he finds a great opportunity in this comedic situation. "Oh, I'm ravenous!" His announcement proves too too loudly even by his standards. "I'm gonna go for the juiciest prey..." And in one easy motion, Dimmingsun plucks Beetlekit out from rabbits and mice; his maw closes around the small she-kit, careful not to actually harm her in any capacity, teeth merely caging her in instead of sinking into soft flesh.

Nightkit had just woken up from his slumber in the nursery den, and after making sure to stretch all of his legs out properly, the kit left the nest to head outside and see what had been going on out there while he had been peacefully sleeping. His attention got brought to Dimmingsun who was by the fresh kill pile minding his own business. Nightkit was just going to pass by not exactly planning to interact with the other, however his attention was captured back when Dimmingsun started to speak with the food. Had somebody else fallen sick?.

Taking a side-step away his attention lingered until he actually spotted a very much living Beetlekit in the pile. Never before had Nightkit played in the fresh kill pile, told to never play with food so that most include to play in it too. Apparently this was not something Beetlekit had been taught. Dimmingsun most be unable to tell apart food from a clanmate though as he claimed of wishing to devour the kit. Nightkit twitched his ear tip, indifferent orbs unchanged but inside felt some action was in place.

So he did decide to take action, to prevent Beetlekit from becoming this warrior's dinner.

Nightkit sprang up on Dimmingsun from behind as he attempted to go for their tail to sink his small but sharp teeths into the fluff to save Beetlekit from a fate of turning into prey.
