set foot on a battlefield — pafp

Troutsnout had been on a walk with a few others, gathering a few essentials for camp ranging from a different assortment of items. With Windclan refugees and their own friends and families to tend too, it required a lot more work around. The atmosphere of Riverclan was tense with Smokestar's decision to help Windclan with the horrible history stowed between them. She can understand the tom's decision to help without discussing it with his council as lives were in at a risk and he couldn't tolerate having the young, elderly and sick burn in the raging flames of Windclan. Any morally correct person would accept to save lives instead of leaving them to a torment and backlash after they recovered. A chambray gaze flicks across her surroundings and a faint rumble booms across the heavens.

"Hm?" She murmurs with a raised eyebrow, exhausted eyes raising to the sky and soon as her gaze meets— it began to rain. The heaviness of the rain decided to pick up as the storm brewing above crackles and rumbles with thunder. "I think we need to take shelter, it's too dangerous to head back." Finding shelter was main priority to hide away from the weather and to shelter up so nothing dangerous happened nor sick from staying in the rain for so long without proper drying. A large tree with a wide hollow center catches her attention as she points a paw in the direction, quickly moving to insert the hollow entrance from the pounding rain. "This should be fine until it calms down..."

OOC prompt: you and another cat (or cats) got caught in the rain and must shelter from the storm together!
wait until fog responds!

He didn't have a problem with the Windclan refugees, like some of his other clanmates had. History ran deep between bother Riverclan and Windclan, and the tensing atmosphere from his clanmates was getting on the chimera's nerves. He understands Smokestar's decision on helping the Windclanners of course, but dammit he was going to dunk himself in the river and stay there.

Currently, he was on a patrol to gather materials for the Windclan refugees. The warrior's gaze flicked up at the rumbling sky- it began to rain. He angles an ear towards Troutsnout, grunting in agreement with the molly on shelter.

He quickly follows after the chocolate molly, with a flick of his tail. The mismatched warrior moved in the hollowed tree, feeling the rain drench his pelt he let out a sigh as he settled down next to his clanmate. "I hope we won't be stuck here forever.." He laps at his chest fur, to get rid of the water from his long pelt.

The tension that had begun to weave its way between the cats of RiverClan the moment whispers of WindClan had started, is weighty and disquieting — like the promise of lightning that hangs in the air as the storm begins. Hawkcloud isn't fond of it in the slightest, entirely uncertain as to why some of their Clanmates cling to old wounds like rotting, unhealed flesh and don't simply embrace the opportunity to make friends with the group of soot-tinged cats that now live on their territory. It's exciting to have the chance to speak to so many strangers now that they're right beside them in the beech copse and not on the other side of the gorge, Hawkcloud thinks, and doesn't understand the Clanmates who believe otherwise. Then again, perhaps the she-cat doesn't understand a lot of things.

With a squeal at the feeling of heavy raindrops landing upon her fur, Hawkcloud bounds after the other two patrol members, squeezing her way into the hollow of the tree after Fogshore. She doesn't mind the rain so much, and the rumble of distant thunder that the she-cat feels in her ears fills her with a giddy sort of anticipation — but the water's still cold. As the raindrops sink into her fur and the dark storm clouds overhead blot out any hint of the sun, the newleaf warmth that they'd been enjoying quickly disappears into the gloomy gray and Hawkcloud shivers. "It won't be forever," she tells the older tomcat in response despite it, padding her way back to the entrance of the hollow and peering outside as best as she can with the chattering of her teeth and the stray raindrops landing upon her face. "Maybe we'll even see lightning from here!"

-ˋˏ ༻✧༺ ˎˊ- the sky looms heavy with the promise of rain and angry thunder. carawaypaw liked the rain, even as supple drops landed too close to her eyes and made her ears and fur heavy. how different was it than going for a swim?

she doesn't argue as troutsnout gives the order to take cover, follows the warriors into the hollow trunk of a tree. it would be in bad etiquitte to shake silver fur onto her clanmates, so carawaypaw delivers quick licks to her chest, leans back into the wood as if it would soak some of the wetness from her fur.

fogshore speaks of forever, hawkcloud of lightning. only one of those things was probable. "forever? it's just some rain..." forever was too dramatic for their current circumstance. she peers out to try and catch the lightning, green gaze keen and trained towards the sky. a streak of light eventually beams down, highlighting the purple hue of the clouds. "what happens when it hits something?"

Tigersplash held no grudge against Windclan while many of her clanmates rightfully did, they were a clan just like them trying to survive and thrive and it was the right thing for Smokestar to allow them sanctuary in their territory. It may be the first step to mending the festering wound between the clans, sure while she found enjoyment in fighting and more specifically winning there was a time for unity over war and this was one of those times. She hadn't minded stepping up on her duties even if she was cutting down on her beautifying up times, she's handsome enough she's sure her clanmates haven't noticed and it was more important making sure both her own clan and their guest had full bellies. It did mean she was spending more time with her good ole' friends and clanmates out on patrols and the like.

She cheerily walks besides Hawkcloud, the tension like static in the air while making many of their companions glum and on edge seems to have her in similar spirits. They truly were littermates. Fat raindrops begin to fall and while Tigersplash seems to not even notice them her sister squeals besides her eliciting a loud barking laugh as she watches her, Troutsnout, Carawaypaw and Fogshore run for cover. Ah, it's like they forget the water is their friend, it's just rain and she delights in the feeling of it plummeting on her fur at first lifting her chin up towards the sky and purring as her fur begins to become sleak against her muscular body. Well her enjoyment lasts until it begins to fall harder and begins to hurt, only then does she make her way into the now crowded cover. "You guys are acting like a buncha' dry paws" she chortles with good humor as she enters the hollow. "I'm looking mighty out of place all soaked to the bone, here lemme share the love" her grin grows even wider and the cheeky she-cat begins to shake her long pelt likely spraying her patrolmates in a shower of droplets.

Finally she comes to sit besides Hawkcloud, her chest puffed out proudly. "I'm sure it'll slow down soon" she would say though she's not in any rush for it to be. She'd always found the sound of rain relaxing and it was kinda fun being all buddled up together.

✧ . He’s been on edge since WindClan set foot on the territory, and perhaps rightfully so. While he doesn’t discredit Smokestar for his decision, while he might’ve done the same, Gillsight knows WindClan. He knows what they’re capable of, knows of bloodspill and death and scars along his shoulders, his stomach. It only takes one wrong move for the cycle to repeat itself, for the river to run red again.

And the sky, dark gray and cloud covered, isn’t helping much. To get caught in drizzle is one thing, but a storm? As raindrops begin their descent, cold against his fur, he can’t help but wonder if the day’s rain will reach the moors, will extinguish fires and free all of them from this tense situation.

Shelter, Troutsnout suggests they head to, and Gillsight nods in agreement. Better safe than sorry. Under the trunk of a tree, he licks at his chest in an attempt to dry off. One that ultimately fails at Tigersplash’s arrival. The tortoiseshell shakes out her fur, sending water his way, and perhaps drenching him more than what he’d been before they’d taken shelter.

A frown pulls at the warrior’s face as he looks to the younger. “ Th-Thanks. “
