SHADOWCLAN MENTOR & APPRENTICE TRACKER

Character's Name: @scorchfrost
Activity Level: - Active, at least 1-2 posts a day.
What kind of mentor are you: - Scorchfrost - Active (at least one post a day) - Firm but patient and fair. He doesn't tolerate purposeful foolishness or false idiocy. He can be intense, especially if the clan is doing through difficult times, but he's learned well from previous apprentices.
Traits you intend to pass down: - Determination, integrity, stealth, and applicable fighting skills.

Character's Name: - @jaggedpath !
Activity Level: - 10+ posts a month
What kind of mentor are you: - eclectic and chatty. jaggedpath will show his apprentice everything and anything though his methods may be different than traditional teaching (encouraging LOTS of error to pave success)
Traits you intend to pass down: - quick thinking, loyalty, and charisma

Character's Name: @Laurelpaw.
Activity Level: Casual ( 10 posts goal each month but trying to hit more)
What kind of mentor are you after: - Would love a mentor that he could project some sort of maternal qualities to would be fun. Otherwise he has a hothead so either a patient mentor to guide him through that or a mentor to butt heads with would both be interesting plots.

Character's Name: @HEMLOCKNOSE
Activity Level: Casual (probably around 10 ppm)
What kind of mentor are you: Reassuring and gentle, will be patient as long as clear effort is being demonstrated. He doesn't tolerate laziness.
Traits you intend to pass down: Honor, Honesty, Empathy

Character's Name: @orchidbloom
Activity Level: semi-active to active
What kind of mentor are you: A very nervous mentor, the first month may be rocky as they figure out how this all works. Will be taking advice from other warriors until they find their own groove. Will be focusing on hunting, as she herself was taught by one of the best hunters in the clan. Fighting may be lacking a bit, but they'll ensure they at least create a damn good hunter. Patient & tries to be nurturing.
Traits you intend to pass down: being true to yourself, loyalty to the clan & to your friends

Character's Name: @Opossumpaw
Activity Level: Medium aiming for high!
What kind of mentor are you after: Any would be good! A strict mentor would be fun for him to play off of and beneficial for him to get his butt moving but a more lax mentor he'd be a much bigger fan of!

Character's Name: @MARSHROOT
Activity Level: - aiming for secondary to active
What kind of mentor are you: - Marshroot will be a harsh mentor with strict guidelines and high expectations. He is willing to drive his apprentice into the ground in order to get the results that he thinks is necessary. Praise will be few and far between with him but when it does come that means there is pride with in him for the progress of his apprentice. He expects the best work to be put in and he will make sure that they succeed in living in the marshes
Traits you intend to pass down: - He intends to pass on his stealth and ambushing traits as well as his exemplary speed.

Character's Name: @FORESTSHADE
Activity Level: - active, would prefer an active apprentice
What kind of mentor are you: - Forestshade has high expectations for her apprentice and intends for them to follow in her pawsteps as a highly skilled hunter. However, she is no longer overbearing and has learned to let her apprentice go at their own pace. She is direct, critical, and blunt and will not hesitate to be a bit rude to her apprentice. However, they will quickly learn this comes from a place of love when it comes to Forestshade. She has a hard time showing pride in her apprentice, but deep down will be thrilled when they succeed. Skills that will not be passed down are climbing, swimming, and fighting. They will spar and have lessons, but any apprentice under her is destined to become a much better hunter than fighter.
Traits you intend to pass down: - independence, skill in using nose and ears to hunt

Note: a quirk of Forestshade’s is she is not above requesting her own apprentice from Chilledstar. This will only be if she notices a kit in the nursery has a natural skill in hunting, whether it be tracking or stalking.

Character's Name: @THORNPAW
Activity Level: Casual(Casual or Active mentors are fine!)
What kind of mentor are you after: I'd prefer someone that could be very calculating and cold or very loyal and calm. A character I could build her personality off of and mirror. She'll be an excellent student but very reserved and quiet. Taking a more stern attitude towards situations and less driven by emotions.

Character's Name: @Duckshimmer
Activity Level: - semi-casual
What kind of mentor are you: - A strict, practical mentor, she takes training seriously and expects the same from her apprentice. Though she wouldn't be described as a cruel or uncaring teacher, she is not the greatest with children and shows her hand when being stuck with a child for long periods. She will push her apprentices beyond their limits, but never to the point of breaking.
Duckshimmer would have her apprentice focus mainly on the Shadowclan art of stalking through the shadows and ambushing prey and enemies. Her goal is to hone her apprentice's mind to plan and use their environment and intellect to their advantage rather than rely on brute force. Heavy emphasis on fighting cats larger than themselves or countering cats much smaller as that's where Duckshimmer's priorities lie in a fight.
Traits you intend to pass down: - Elegance, Charismatic, Cunning,

Character's Name: @Swallowpaw.
Activity Level: sporadic casual, sometimes hits 10 posts sometimes only 5
What kind of mentor are you after: Someone sterner! I think icly it'd make sense that shadowclan/chilled would probably want someone to curb Swallowpaws more concerning behaviors (acting out, starting arguments, violent urges, the fact he's not really taking his training seriously). She made her last mentor cry rip. Otherwise im fine with whatever - Swallowpaw is truly a choatic gremlin though so RIP to her mentor.

Character's Name: @Swansong
Activity Level: High, 15+ (would prefer an active apprentice to match!)
What kind of mentor are you: Swansong will be a very understanding mentor with a gentle touch. They will work closely with their apprentice in not only ensuring that they succeed, but take care of themself as well. They would do well with anxious or overworking apprentices, helping to soothe their worries - but might struggle to motivate a lazier apprentice. Skill-wise, they will largely focus on stealth, and will instill a strong sense of loyalty to ShadowClan and faith in StarClan.
Traits you intend to pass down: Patience, Faith, Grace, Cunning.

Character's Name: @Briarthorn
Activity Level: Active (15+ posts per month)
What kind of mentor are you: Briarthorn carries a rather cold personality, this demeanor does not change when it comes to her apprentice. While she won't be a perfect mentor by any means, Briarthorn will ensure her apprentice's progress throughout their time together, training sessions will be a priority and the schedule rigorous. With this stern mentoring style, Briarthorn hopes to give her apprentice all the tools they need to be successful without her guidance. As a mentor she encourages independence, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
Traits you intend to pass down: stealth & combat skills, logic, loyalty.

Reposting now that she’ll be available again!

Character's Name: @FORESTSHADE
Activity Level: - active, would prefer an active apprentice
What kind of mentor are you: - Forestshade is a no-nonsense, tough-as-nails mentor with a distinct and unconventional approach. She is brutally honest and direct, and will deliver tough truths without sugarcoating them. She values honesty and expects the same from her apprentice. She prefers unorthodox methods that may seem harsh but are effective, much preferring practical, hands-on training rather than traditional verbal instruction. Forestshade shows tough love to push her apprentice, but has learned to not push them over their limit and go at their own pace. She encourages her apprentice to develop their own strength and confidence, emphasizing self-reliance. Despite her gruff exterior, her apprentice can expect a dry, often sarcastic sense of humor from her to defuse tension and make her lessons more engaging. She is here to shape the clan’s best hunters. Skills that will not be passed down are climbing, swimming, and fighting. They will spar and have fighting lessons, but any apprentice under her is destined to become a much better hunter than fighter.
Traits you intend to pass down: - independence, skill in using nose and ears to hunt instead of relying solely on sight, stealth

Note: a quirk of Forestshade's is she is not above requesting her own apprentice from Smogstar. This will only be if she notices a kit in the nursery has a natural skill in hunting, whether it be tracking or stalking.

Character's Name: @JITTERBUG
Activity Level: Casual, maybe semi-active
What kind of mentor are you: Not necessarily strict, but not very patient. Expects their apprentice to listen and learn things quickly, and will become frustrated and snippy if they struggle a lot. Holds their apprentice to the same standards they held themself to as an apprentice; pay attention always, commit everything to memory, practice as much as you can in your off time so that you have it down by the next time Jitter asks them to do it.
Traits you intend to pass down: Determination and reliability

Character's Name: @FLINTWISH
Activity Level: generally about 10-15 posts per month!
What kind of mentor are you:
- flint has always struggled with low self esteem / confidence and being a mentor would certainly not be an exception. he struggles to interact with others / play nice; he would be very concerned that his apprentice isnt receiving the right training and i think would frequently go to others (like his own past mentors) to ensure that his apprentice is well rounded. despite being extremely cynical about warriorhood himself he would want his apprentice to do well methink
- pretty well-rounded but like. not Great at anything. he is capable of a lot of things, i think he struggles most with the clan skill of like sneaking around. but he does know the territory well (lots of solo time exploring) and forestshade and scalejaw taught him hunting and combat pretty well
- in combat flintwish would teach his apprentice dirty / dishonorable moves. granitepelt taught him some and he just never realized they were like... wrong. would also train with claws out
Traits you intend to pass down: navigational skill (at least in shadowclan's own territory), combat (including dirty tricks), hunting
