Night was high, and Claythorn still felt sick.
She hadn't felt this way since she was cast away from her mother- a dark feeling that coated her insides. Guilt- fear, even? She slowly sat up in her den, vision shifting around the other Riverclan warriors who still slept. Ears twitched gently, trying to gauge if anyone else was awake. She decided to cut her losses and stand from where her nest was, settled at the edge of the den, near Otterbite's. She maneuvered past his sleeping form on feather-light paws, moving out into the moonlight.
Breathing became a little easier as she stood in moonlight, washed in the glow and watchful eyes of the stars. Ears twitched, a cruel thought crossing her mind that she silenced near-immediately. She's not up there. She chided herself. Mismatched golden eyes, like two headlights in the night, swept through camp. Moonbeam's den- one that, if she perked her ears just right, could hear someone settling down within. Claythorn frowned, moving towards her den. Was it a patient, one that was left behind and needed something, or was it someone doing nefarious actions?
Claythorn came to a stop when she pushed in, coming face to face with a smoke-pelted apprentice, mismatched eyes meeting other mismatched ones. She watched for moment, settling her nerves before she spoke quietly. "... Beepaw. Sorry." Claythorn turned to leave, only stopped by the sound of Beepaw's voice.
