Once upon a time, the lilac chimera had grown used to chasing in enclosed spaces. Mice often have nowhere to go in the barn, especially with her frame haunting their every step. But out here, on the moors, it's an entirely different game. She's gotten better at it, per say, but it's obvious that she is still far from perfect when the rabbit crashes through the gorse

"Catch it, catch it, catch it, CATCH IT!" Wisteriacloud tears in with it, her claws kicking up dust and revived grass as she does. It's clear from the way she heaves her lungs that she's already been in this sprint for too long, eyes wide with plain exhaustion. The rabbit, now trapped by many more capable warriors, still tries to race away from her.

[ anyone is allowed to catch the rabbit :3 ]

Doekit was dying of boredom without any mischief of her own to get into—now that spring had sprung, she was thoroughly beginning to go stir-crazy—and had nearly given up and sulked back into the nursery for a nap when suddenly the frantic of a rabbit chased by a warrior seemed to make the ground tremble. Her eyes grew wide, first with alarm and then with excitement—Wow!

First, she had never realized how big rabbits were. That thing was huge! Next, she noted how unusual this was. In all her kithood, she'd never seen something as wild as this. She practically bounced with glee as she raced over with little white-dipped paws, shouting, "Yippee!"

This must have been some kind of game Wisteriacloud had thought up and she felt a wave of gratitude for the older she-cat for turning the day into something so thoroughly exciting. Although, she feels a little sorry for the rabbit who looked utterly panicked; hopefully a warrior would put it out of its misery fast, because Doekit was certainly no match for it, scampering about for fun rather than out of any sincere attempt to catch it. She was much too small, and merely wanted to join in on the excitement.

It's a rare sight to see any alive prey crash through here, the whites of her eyes show as they widen in surprise at the sight. Announced by the laboured breathes and shouting of Wisteriacloud her attention is solely captured on the little beast. At least Doekit finds some joy in it, the calico realises that this is probably the first time she's seen a rabbit actually moving. They don't move at first, watching with half interest to see if by some miracle the kit managed to capture the terrified rabbit. Of course it doesn't happen, she moves cautiously as another warrior narrowly misses the rabbit and sending it into her direction. Shaking the dust off her pelt she lunges forward, only to narrowly miss the wretched little beast herself. They grunt in frustration, digging paws into the dirt and chasing after it as it careens to the left of the nursery.

Tumbling forward she manages to dig her fangs into the scruff of the rabbit, trapping it against the walls of the nursery and taking that opportunity to strike. The blood is a sweet relief, knowing that this rabbit isn't going to be terrorizing the camp for much longer. With a huff she brings it towards Doekit to look at, setting it down gingerly. "Well... congratulations on your first hunting lesson, even if it's a bit early" they mutter awkwardly, a shy smile finding her as she dips her head towards the excited kit. For half a heartbeat she wonders if that might make her a formidable apprentice, probably not though, no doubt this would be forgotten soon in favour for the next big event. Maybe a thunderstorm?

"You should carry it to the fresh-kill pile" she mutters thoughtfully with her attention turned to Wisteriacloud. She had been the one to chase it so diligently, even if for the life of her Brackenscar has no idea how she was unable to catch it. Not that it really matters, since it seems that it made the camp just that little more exciting today.

"Woah!" The piece of moss goes flying from his teeth, his voice beaten down by the burst of gorse and leaves and Wisteriacloud's frantic, harsh hollering. "Catch it, catch it, catch it, CATCH IT!" The rabbit thunders forward, a flurry of leaf-litter in its wake. Sedgepounce can do little more than lurch away from his half-built nest before the thing skitters past in a frantic arc. Its clumsy paws are slipping on the peaty floor, sand kicked up in its wake. First it jolts left, then right, franticly zigzaging across the enclosed snare of camp, before finally winding up in Brackenscar's claws.

"Woah," Sedgepounce says again, bleating like a lamb. The wary stillness that falls over camp feels too quiet, too calm—an emaciated shadow of the chaos prior. When he moves, it's to examine the tear shorn through the camp wall. "StarClan's whiskers, Wisteriacloud. You couldn't have chased it anywhere else?"

His voice is more amused than it is disparaging, a crooked smile hitched across his maw as he eyes the snapped heather and torn gorse. It's not so bad. The tangled wall has a habit of collapsing in on itself, covering up any damages, but there's still some shattered windows through the wall where there shouldn't be. Some apprentices are gonna have to spend a while fixing this.

SEDGEPOUNCE is the current DEPUTY OF WINDCLAN. he's a long-legged tomcat with dark taupe fur and high white. much more of a pacifist compared to scorchstar, he tends to come across as a bit of a pushover—however, he's inwardly quite savvy with clan politics, and tends to judge others harshly based on past actions.

BABBLEKIT

You're totally not faster than me!

The sudden bursting sound of a cat and something else coming rushing into camp makes the young kit jolt up. Her eyes snap open wide as a warrior shouts for something to catch the rather large creature that they are chasing. Her body goes rigid for just a moment before she is jumping up and her body shifts as she follows after Doekit, with wonder in her eyes. She has never seen a rabbit before, at least not alive and the way it runs and sharply turns all over camp is amazing and wild to her. "This is so cool!" The young molly happily follows Doekit's excitement and she bounds after the other with a bright jump in her step only to watch in utter amazement at how Brackenscar takes the rabbit down with ease. She's never seen anyone hunt before and she looks at Brackenscar as if she is the best Windclanner in all of existence right now.

At the offering to carry it to the freshkill pile the little molly turns to Doekit with a smile on her muzzle, lifting a paw to gently bat at the other kit. "Can I help you carry it, Doekit? It'll be easier if we do it together."
