camp waving at the ship // 5/1 meeting

Howlingstar has not been seen much lately. Everyone likely knows why, of course. The loss of the cat who had been her eldest grandchild as well as her lead warrior had hit her heart, strung every chord in her heart until each snapped. The days grow better as they go on, but only slightly. Today, however, when she steps out of her den and feels a powerful gust of wind blow through the ravine, she can feel Wolfwind with her. Her strength, her ferocity...it is still here within these walls. She holds onto that with all that she has before ascending the Highrock, grief heavy in fern-green eyes. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

One clanmate has gone to sleep forever, but today is a reminder that with death comes life. The day will be filled with ceremonies, from kits joining the apprentice's den to young cats earning their warrior names. She must be joyous for them, and she knows well enough that is exactly what Wolfwind would want. She draws strength from the harsh winds that blow against her and bellows, "Newleaf continues to bring us bountiful gifts. Today, many of our clanmates will enter a new chapter in their lives. But first, I have something to say."

Her gaze drifts about the gathered cats, her ears pricking with confidence. "As ThunderClan grows, I need more and more paws to help me. We have lost so many loyal, dutiful lead warriors...Wolfwind, Batwing, Flycatcher...Their losses are felt every day, which only proves how incredible of warriors they were. Today, I would like to name a new lead warrior to join me on my council. There is one cat who has continued to earn my admiration and respect for her empathy and work ethic. I know I can always count on her to be a loyal warrior when she is needed. Leafhusk," She turns her green gaze to the mahogany-furred she-cat in the crowd. "What do you say?"

// WOOOO congrats to @leafhusk for her promotion!!!

Activity shoutouts for April go to @HOWLINGSTAR @Flamewhisker @GENTLESTORM @nightbird @RACCOONSTRIPE @ROEFLAME . @FALCONHEART @leafhusk @COPPERFANG. @THUNDERGLEAM @bravepaw : ̗̀➛ @Softpaw @Fadingkit @Scorchedkit

'CAUSE SOMEWHERE DOWN THE BANK — Gentlestorm finds a spot within the crowd only to settle down baring a tired grin on his maw and pricks his ears in the direction of Howlingstar, his whiskers twitching in the slightest when he hears that many of their clanmates would begin a new chapter of their lives. He thinks of all the kittens in the nursery knowing that some of them would graduate sooner than others but their time as an apprentice will arrive someday. The pale tom wonders who the mentors of the older kittens would be but he know whoever it ends up being would be a good match.

At the mention of those lost to them, he can feel his heart aching within his chest and his large paws shuffle in the slightest trying to not think of that Starclan forsaken herb that he decorated their bodies with. Maybe he'd move it on the other side of the den... His thoughts are interrupted when Howlingstar extends the offer of lead warrior to Leafhusk and the medicine cat turns his gaze to the molly, it's a good choice admittedly and he would love to have her on the council alongside him and the other lead warriors.

A new lead warrior is wonderful news after all of the loss that ThunderClan has faced - and, of course, there were kits to be apprenticed, and apprentices to be named. Thankfully, this meeting was all good news, it seemed, and the fair sunny weather of newleaf smiles down on them today, sunlight shining off of the fur of the cats gathered before the highrock. It was a good day to be promoted, that was for certain. He turns his gaze upon the fawn she-cat as Howlingstar names her, smiling warmly. If she accepts, she'll surely be a wonderful member of the council.

⊱⊰ Hopekit has not been present at a clan meeting before, in past months either too small or too sleepy to attend. But today, when he hears Howlingstar’s call, the little lilac tom isn’t tired at all. He’s wide awake, in fact, and his attention is fixed on the leader as he pokes his head out of the nursery. He wants to watch the meeting! "Come on, Coalkit," he calls as he rushes out the den’s entrance. Whether his brother follows or not, Hopekit makes his way over to where Gentlestorm sits, looking up at the fluffy tom with wide eyes before turning to look around for his older siblings. He doesn’t yet spot them, and so he stays put beside the medicine cat.

The first thing that Howlingstar says is that lots of lead warriors have died. A frown crosses his face when she says Batwing’d name, reminded of how he never got to meet his parents. But that’s… that’s okay, because there’s a new lead warrior. Leafhusk is being asked to join the leader’s council, and Hopekit blinks slowly at the thought. The council has lots of lead warriors on it. "A lead warrior… just like Roeflame." He grins brightly, proud of himself for knowing that—but of course he knows, because Roeflame is his second mom! He has to know what she does besides take care of him and Coalkit and her other kits.

it seems like grief will hang over the highrock forever. since the deer, the forest hasn’t known peace- their numbers are down, the workload is more tough than ever- the current situation is felt by every thunderclanner over the age of six. but, today, howlingstar appears hopeful, for the first time in moons. every meeting begins the same, with her leader’s voice booming through the ravine. new chapters, the tabby says, and leafhusk assumes it’s about the nursery finally decreasing it’s numbers.

well, she was half right.

green suddenly meets gold. a forest of oak at the break of dawn, sunlight glittering down to earth- a lead warrior. seasons ago, she stumbled into thunderclan territory after hearing hushed word of feral cats living together. those cats who perched on their fences were such gossips, little did they know it saved her. leafhusk (susan, back then) was not ashamed to join their ranks, isn’t it everyone’s desire to be sheltered, liked, and fed? she missed her old life, sometime she still dreams about the sunlight through the window, but the forest is home now. it hugs her after she exists the gorse tunnel, and waves good bye whenever she parts the branches.

leafhusk feels eyes shift towards her, and the tips of her ears feel warm, though the newfound confidence drowns it out. she meets howlingstar’s eyes, sunlight glittering in them, adjusting her posture to respond,

"it’d be an honor to serve on your council, howlingstar. i accept."

Her missing tooth flashes those who watch it pass up. Wildflower was here and ready to go. Energy buzzes through her pelt like a hive. Might not be the most appropriate mood for a meeting. But she was in a good mood.

Her green eyes landed on the new lead warrior. Wildflower howled with excitement. "LEAFHUSK! LEAFHUSK!" The younger warrior wondered if she would one day hold such a title. Probably not any time soon. Seeing that, Wildflower hasn't even had an apprentice yet.
[ YOU CAN'T STAND THE THOUGHT ]

⁺˚⋆。°✩₊ Too consumed by grief, Flamewhisker had missed the last meeting. However, no matter how she felt today, this was not a meeting she would miss. At Howlingstar's call, the tabby gathered each of her kits up, and nosed them out of the den. "If you are all quiet, you may watch." she said, giving them each a stare. She then turned her focus to Sparrowkit, who would be receiving his apprentice name today. It seemed like just yesterday that she and their leader had found him alone in the forest. Oh how he had grown so much the past few moons. She could see the excitement glittering in his eyes, and it made her own water just a little. "I'm so proud of you." she said quietly, leaning in to give his forehead one last lick. Today, he would begin to learn how to provide and protect the clan...this morning was the last early morning he would bounce from the den to play, just as he had for the past few moons.

But before the ceremonies began, Howlingstar had another announcement. Leafhusk was promoted to Lead Warrior. At the mention of her mate's passing, Flamewhisker stiffened, but she held her posture. Leafhusk was a noble warrior, and she would serve Thunderclan well. She was sure their fallen council members would all approve. "Leafhusk! Leafhusk!"

Howlingstar is not left disappointed as her chosen lead warrior straightens with dignity and accepts the invitation graciously. She smiles down at her, a low purr rumbling in her throat as she dips her head. Leafhusk has come a long way from the lost kittypet she had been several seasons ago. Though she would likely have never allowed her into their ranks if she had been leader, she is now grateful to Emberstar for giving the warrior a chance, for now she has truly risen through the ranks to become a name to be remembered. She joins in the cheers that begin to float around camp, and when they fall silent, she sits up straighter to look towards the apprentice's den. "Now, it is time to welcome four kits onto the path to warriorhood. Today, they join the clan in patrolling and hunting as apprentices. Sparrowkit, Orangekit, Tornadokit, and Wrathkit, come forward."

She watches as the four kits approach, eyes gleaming with excitement for them. She knows most of them have been waiting for this day for so long; only one of them has just come to join the clan. She focuses first on little Sparrowkit, who has grown so much since she herself found him out in the forest as just a scrap waiting for his mother. Named by Roeflame, adopted by Flamewhisker, she knows he will come to make a name for himself. "Sparrowkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sparrowpaw. Your mentor will be Sleekserpent. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you." She looks next to the tabby in the crowd, finding them easily with their silver fawn fur. "Sleekserpent, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown yourself to be a hard-working and diligent warrior; because of this, you will be the mentor of Sparrowpaw. I expect you to pass on all you know to him." She watches as the two touch noses, glancing briefly behind them to see Flamewhisker watching her adoptive son from the nursery, before moving on.

She looks to young Orangekit, discovered only recently out on their territory covered in his own mother's blood. While he had seemed to be an odd child, Howlingstar has noticed how he's settled easily into clan life and she hopes he will thrive as an apprentice. "Orangekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Orangepaw. Your mentor will be Butterflyskip. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you." Her eyes flicker to the cream and ginger warrior. She has always been a friendly cat, and firmly believes this match will be a good one for the newcomer. With their kittypet heritage, she can also count on her to be accepting of the little one's loner background. "Butterflyskip, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown yourself to be a patient, kind warrior; you will be mentor to Orangepaw. I expect you to pass on all you know to him." Again, she waits for the two to touch noses, and her gaze flicks to Tornadokit.

Yet another little one who somehow found his way into ThunderClan. He had the smell of kittypet on him when he arrived, but now his pelt only bears the scent of the forest. "Tornadokit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Tornadopaw. Your mentor will be Mothfur. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you." She looks to the young warrior, knowing it was only recently he received his first apprentice, but she has every bit of faith in him he can handle this. "Mothfur, you are ready to take on another apprentice. You received excellent training from Roeflame, and you have shown yourself to be a reliable and confident warrior. You will be the mentor of Tornadopaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him." If anything, she hopes he can help to temper the rowdy new apprentice's high energy!

Finally, she looks to the last kit, Wrathkit. He is the only clanborn kit that stands before her today, kin to two apprentices who would finally be earning their warrior names today. He has always been a sweet kit, one with good manners and plenty of trust towards adults. The apprentice she's chosen for him is a risk, she'll admit, but she hopes he can help bring out a confidence in the soft-hearted kitten he hasn't shown before. "Wrathkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Wrathpaw. Your mentor will be Wildheart. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you." She looks to the young warrior, and there is almost a knowing warning in otherwise gentle eyes. "Wildheart, you are ready to take on another apprentice. You received excellent training from Raccoonstripe, and you have shown yourself to be a courageous and protective warrior. You will be the mentor of Wrathkit, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him." After the pair touches their noses, she lifts her voice in celebration, "Sparrowpaw! Orangepaw! Tornadopaw! Wrathpaw!"

As the cheers die down, so does Howlingstar's confidence. The next announcement she must make tears at the cracks in her heart that just won't heal. They are permanent, chiseled into stone after every loss she has faced, every death she has bore witness to. Her skull dips, ears falling back as she searches the crowd for a certain apprentice. "Doepaw, please come forward," She summons, gentler than she had been speaking earlier. The apprentice of her granddaughter. As soon as the young she-cat is in front of her, she clears her throat softly before mewing to her, "You have lost your mentor, and I know Wolfwind would not want your training to suffer. I hope she approves of my choice in naming Cobwebtail your new mentor." She looks to her son, a mixture of sorrow and hope swirling in her gaze. "You are ready to take on an apprentice, Cobwebtail. You have proven yourself to be kind and intelligent, and I expect you to pass on everything you know to Doepaw." She knows he will be mourning, too, but can only hope a pairing like this can help the both of them. Her son has always been so empathetic, so understanding...if anyone can help Doepaw, she is sure he can.

Once the two touch noses, it is finally time for the final round of ceremonies. She must steel herself, blinking away tear eyes as she looks to the pair of apprentices waiting nearby. "Lovepaw, Joypaw, come forward." Two new warriors will greet the night tonight. At least there is something to celebrate. She looks down at the two cats who should have been named warriors moons ago. She remembers how they looked after their unsuccessful owl hunt. She remembers how horribly bent Lovepaw's leg was, how bloodied Joypaw had been. Now, they stand before her strong and healed, although Lovepaw's leg will never be the same. She frowns softly, mourning their potential, but knows they will still become a strong warrior here today. They have faced their consequences and have earned this moment. "I, Howlingstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon StarClan to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of the Warrior Code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Lovepaw, Joypaw, do you promise to uphold the Warrior Code and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?" She stares down at them now from atop the Highrock, awaiting their vows expectantly.

Reactions: ORANGEPAW.

✧ . Toadhop is grateful for the sense of normalcy a meeting can bring through the tragedies that have befallen upon the oak forest, but he’s not blind to the grief that looms overhead as he settles beneath the Highrock. Council members and kin walking among the stars, the warrior doesn’t blame Howlingstar for her sparse appearances these days. Even through grief, the leader touts newleaf’s bountiful gifts and new chapters to begin today. Rebuilding after destructive moons, starting with her council.

Cerulean gaze shifts to the fawn-furred warrior called upon with a question, and awaits her answer. Leafhusk is a good pick, he thinks — strong as the rest of them, a hard worker among the clan. She’ll fit in well with Howlingstar’s council. At her acceptance, the younger warrior gives a small smile to the new lead warrior. “ Leafhusk! Leafhusk! “ he joins in on his clan’s chants.

And then, as cheers die down, the nursery’s oldest kits are called forth. Another new chapter, a big milestone in their short lives — in a few moons, his kin will be in their place, will be earning their apprentice names too. Time moves too fast, he thinks. “ Sparrowpaw! Orangepaw! Tornadopaw! Wrathpaw! “ he chants for the new apprentices when the time comes to do so.

Another apprentice is called forth, a reassignment held in the wake of tragedy, before another set of ceremonies begins. Toadhop looks to the duo called upon — held back just as he was, but for more dire reasons — ears twitching as he waits to hear their answers.

WE WERE PLAYING IN THE SAND

oh! that was his name! his name was being called!! quickly he scrambled over to the meeting spot, tripping over himself to sit down beside a warrior. he only giggled, rubbing the top of his muzzle as he pushed himself up onto his paws, eyes wide and sparkling. woah! howlingstar looked so cool up there! he doesn't miss the way she looks sad for a bit, however. she speaks of a lead warrior– to be quite honest, he doesn't even know what that is. he hasn't had a chance to learn it– and that sounds pretty cool! his ears swivel again as his name, along with other kits, is called and once again he gets a name change. okay!! he was an apprentice now!

he didn't mind at all! he'd barely had a chance to be orangekit enough to be confused but he never was one to fuss about anything. he was grateful to be here, and he knows his mama would be a good warrior too! he wonders what her name would be, for a fleeting moment, before he looks over where howlingstar is talking about his mentor. someone to learn from. cool! butterflyskip! that was a really nice name. his grin only widens as he looks up at howlingstar, tail swaying back and forth.

"thank you miss howlingstar!!"

he giggles, skipping happily up to butterflyskip, and gently bumping his head against her leg. his ears perk up in surprise when her nose touches his own and he falls back on his hind in with sift giggles. that tickled! he and his mama do that all the time!

"hi! nice to meet you! iiiiii'm orangepaw!"

every moon that a meeting came around, Softpaw couldn't help but feel excited. The day would come when she was called upon by Howlingstar again to receive her warrior name, but today was not that day - in lieu, however, Softpaw's ears perked up when Howlingstar called Leafhusk forward and requested that the warrior take on a higher role than what she'd originally had.

"Leafhusk!" Softpaw called out for the newly-minted Lead Warrior, and she flicked her tail before calling out to congratulate the new apprentices, as well, "Sparrowpaw! Orangepaw! Wrathpaw! Tornadopaw!"

𓍊𓋼 The leader's call for a meeting draws Falconheart from his meal, and he lifts his cream-striped head to look up to her. Howlingstar looks a bit tired, to him, but that's understandable. Of greater concern is the announcement that she begins with; the cream tabby tom moves to sit beside his mother and siblings as the leader speaks of the clan's lost lead warriors, and then appoints a new one: Leafhusk. He casts a glance to Flamewhisker when Howlingstar mentions his father, but thankfully his mother seems to be a bit more okay, now. So with the worry about her out of the way, he is free to cheer on the newly-named lead warrior. "Leafhusk!" The fawn-furred warrior can't possibly replace Flycatcher or Batwing, but she has his respect all the same. Leafhusk is a kind and capable warrior, and he's sure that she'll fit into the role of lead warrior just fine.

Next, his focus turns to the kits who are called forth. Sparrowkit is becoming an apprentice today. Green-ringed eyes shift to Flamewhisker, trying to discern what his mother is feeling. She appears proud, giving the kit one more lick atop the head before he's called to stand before Howlingstar. His apprenticeship is announced, and he is paired with Sleekserpent to be trained. A trio of other kits are made apprentices, too, and along with the rest of the clan he calls each of their names. "Orangepaw! Wrathpaw! Tornadopaw! SPARROWPAW!" He cheers his younger sibling's name the loudest, of course. They may not be related by blood, but Falconheart sees Sparrowkit—no, Sparrowpaw—just as he sees his mother's younger litter of kits. And if Sparrowpaw is anything like him, then apprenticeship will be a difficult time; the little black and white tom will need all the support that he can get, and Falconheart promises silently that he will keep a close eye on Sparrowpaw's training.

The clan meeting is called, and Butterflyskip joins his clanmates beneath the Highrock, squinting up at Howlingstar through the sunlight drowning the clearing from overhead, soft cream and orange fur glowing flame-like when it catches his coat. The reminder of the losses they'd suffered makes her frown temporarily, a pang of sorrow in her chest - ThunderClan had suffered so much in the past few moons, that was undeniable. But his ears perk up at the mention of a new lead warrior, olivine gaze looking around at her clanmates to watch to see whose name it would be that was mentioned. It was Leafhusk, and he's not really surprised. She was an excellent warrior, and the position was well-deserved. Her voice rises in a cheer with the voices of the others. "Leafhusk! Leafhusk!"

And next, onto the new apprentices. She hardly gives who they'll be apprenticed to a second thought, cheering Sparrowkit - Sparrowpaw's - name as it is called with joy, and then is caught quite off guard when her own name is called alongside Orangekit's, a young cat that had only joined the clan very recently, another kit in an unfortunate situation that had led them here. Despite her surprise, she quickly rises to her paws to meet the little ginger cat, bending her head to touch noses with him. Honestly, he'd never really expected to have an apprentice - but he won't let Howlingstar, his clan, or Orangepaw down. He can't. They're all depending on him. The chimera laughs a little when he tumbles back, smiling warmly down at her new apprentice. "It's nice to meet you, too, Orangepaw. We'll go out and see the territory soon, okay? And I'll teach you all sorts of stuff about the clans."

Its strange to see the clan changing so much - council members dead and gone, new ones taking their place. Still, changing is part of life - allows for them to grow. Sleekserpent takes this newest change in stride, baby blues watching howlingstar in rapt attention as leafhusk is promoted - his own raspy voice joining the cheers of the crowd even if it sends throbs of pain through his neck. " Leafhusk! Leafhusk! " the moment is, of course, runed by a quiet cough - and by the time watery eyes refocus the meeting has already moved on without her.

Not that it matters much. One, two, three, four kits are called up - ready to be apprentices now, at a shocking six moons of age. The code is still an oddity to them, confusion mixing with uncertainty. He'd never had troubles keeping up at their age, surely skyclan must've just been soft, to let fresh-faces get hurt till. But it'd been put into law, and who is she - a normal, everyday warrior of thunderclan - to question the five leaders in their choice.

They're drawn out of their revere by the sound of their own name on howlingstars lips - paws carrying them forwards mindlessly. He's being granted an apprentice - part of him wants to dance with joy and excitement, another wants to shake his head and ask 'really? why me?' They are young after all - and though they'd recovered since, they still bore the shame of yellowcough etched into their body as a permanent reminder of their foolishness. Still, there is only acceptance and warmth in her eyes by the time she turns to sparrowpaw, touching her nose to his. For one bittersweet moment, he wishes his own mentor was here - smiling and cheering for him, proud of what he'd accomplished. But killdeercry isn't, and then the moment is over - the two vanishing back into the crowd as howlingstar moves onto the next pair. She'll speak with her apprentice more later, when things have calmed and the crowd has scattered.

This was so cool!. His first very meeting!. Boldkit would watch from the medicine cat den as he peeked his head outside to look over at the crowded cats before his eyes went up to look at the sky where Howlingstar stood on the tall rock. Big Blue had informed him about the meetings the clanners attended now and then to keep the clan up to date with everything alongside all the ceremonies!. First was a promotion to one of the cats in the clan. He was not sure what a lead warrior meant but it sounded cool enough. Maybe he could be a lead warrior too one day.

Next up was something more exciting. Boldkit's eyes shined up as he watched the four kits stepping forward to recieve their apprentice ceremony!. Wrathkit was one of them, a face he recognized from his first day here. That kit had complimented his name and for that alone he had a instant liking for them. He couldn't wait for his own apprentice ceremony to stand where Wrathkit stood today beside the other three. Paw, they all become paws instead of kits. Boldkit would cheer them on quietly from where he sat as he found it a bit troublesome to sit still with all of the excitment bubbling up inside.

Doepaw was another one who got called up to stand below the tall rock to face Howlingstar. She was already an paw but for some reason she was getting a new mentor. He wonderd what had happend to Wolfwind to not complete this apprentice training?. He did not voice his question aloud as he just kept on watching wondering what would get announced next after Doepaw had returned back to her seat in the crowd.

What?!, warrior ceremonies?!. Dude, this was so dope!. Boldkit ear's went straight up as he watched in disbelief as he took wittness when the two apprentice become warriors. Lovepaw and Joypaw. He wondered what their warrior names was going to be!. He was sure it was going to be something cool and fitting like Lovekiller or Joycrusher. This meeting really was so cool this far and he couldn't wait to hear the rest!.

Like everyone else, Burnstorm comes when his grandmother calls. Meetings were something he rather enjoyed, honestly. It was always a joy to see all the young cats excited to become apprentices, or to see apprentices graduate to warriors that would lend their strength to the clan. But first, his grandmother states, a different sort of annoucnement. His golden eyes find Leafhusk in the crowd and a smile pulls at the corners of his mouth. With the tragedy of Sunfreckle, Batwing, and Flycatcher's deaths they were down a good number of lead warriors, it was good then that they were adding another and he had absolutely no doubts about his grandmothers judgement. If he were to catch the newly named lead's eyesight, he would dip his head in both respect and congratulations then join his clanmates in calling out her name.

And then it was onto the apprentice ceremonies. Normally, Burnstorm did not have much stake in them. Before his own litter, he had little reason to pay much attention to the nursery. But with how frequently he now visisted, there were quite a few names and faces he recognized better than most. Chiefly among them were Tornadokit and Sparrowkit, who he makes sure to cheer extra loudly for before returning his attention to Howlingstar for the warrior ceremonies.

Raccoonstripe sits a foxlength or so from Burnstorm, his tail curled neatly around his mismatched paws. Like Falconheart, his eyes are on his grieving mother’s shoulders, squared and strong despite the weight they carry. Howlingstar has lost Wolfwind, but she still greets her Clan with the dignity of a proud ThunderClan warrior, and her voice does not waver as she speaks to her cats. His tufted ears swivel with some surprise as she invites a particular feline onto her council—Leafhusk. Raccoonstripe’s dark eyes narrow just a sliver. He has found himself putting the capable young warrior at the forefront of more border patrols, and he’s found she’s proven herself strong and dedicated, but there’s still the shadow of her kittypet past trailing behind her.

Rather than cheer her name, the stand-in deputy dips his head toward Leafhusk, who, of course, accepts the position graciously. “You’ve got big paws to fill,” he warns, but there’s no venom in his voice as he speaks. Wolfwind, but also Sunfreckle, Batwing, and Flycatcher have all abandoned their posts to join StarClan’s ranks. Leafhusk will have to prove herself every bit as worthy as they’d shown themselves to be.

The tabby seeks the colorful line-up of kits who amble forward to touch noses with their new mentors. He flicks the tip of his tail, the familiar burn of pride at seeing their Clan strengthen filling his veins with fire. And, at last, Joypaw and Lovepaw are to receive their warrior names. It’s a promising day for ThunderClan.

The time had come at last for him to take on another apprentice. The calico looked to Howlingstar so he could offer a nod of understanding before he moved to approach Wrathpaw. Wildheart loomed over them with his intense amber gaze upon the younger ThunderClanner as he pictured the future warrior that he would mould. "Be ready, I don't intend to slow down for anyone."

Another meeting that Cobwebtail has to drag his paws to. He already feels teary-eyed, chest heavy with mournful grief, ears angled backwards. All he hears is Leafhusk being promoted to lead warrior, the same spot Wolfwind had taken and all it feels like is claws to his chest. He zones out until he hears his name called to take her place in mentoring Doepaw. The apprentice that she had trained. I'm going to be sick.

His eyes widen and he feels like crying before her. So many eyes... He has to stay calm.

Mom, I- but the words die before they even bloom to fruition. She claims hes ready for an apprentice. Stars, hes moons older than his more achieved younger siblings and he still doesn't feel ready, despite his siblings, younger and older mentoring apprentices. The sudden fear of messing up runs his blood cold. Would Wolfwind approve of this? Would she, dead in the ground, starlit in heaven above, approve of this?

He highly doubts it.

"We'll... be okay." he murmurs to Doepaw, just barely ghosting his nose against hers. It's a thinly veiled promise that he isnt sure will come true. He sits down once more and tries to forget, Howlingstars continuation of the meeting just a droning noise in his ears.

I THINK I'LL TAKE MY WHISKEY NEAT — Several of the kittens that had been found outside of their camp begin a new chapter of their lives and Saffronpounce sits in the crowd not too interested, he's glad that he has his own apprentice so he doesn't get stuck with any of the new ones. At the mention of several of their long gone lead warriors, the dark furred warrior dips his head in a silent respect for their sacrifices and the fur on his neck prickle slightly when the offer to join Howlingstar's council is extended to Leafhusk. A former kittypet from what he remembers and it takes him everything not to wrinkle his snout when she accepts, he sits silently within the crowd as everyone else chants the newest council members name. He does not care for her only to silently agree with what Raccoonstripe says about her having big paws to fill.

Orangepaw, Wrathpaw, Tornadopaw, and Sparrowpaw are made apprentices soon presented to their mentors but one in particular has him glancing over in the direction of a vibrant pelted moggy. In their mind, Butterflyskip is clumsy and aloof though the more they see Orangepaw, well, maybe it isn't a bad match though Saffronpounce doubts that he'll make a formidable warrior one day. Their pupils narrow though they pay attention to their leader once more and straighten out their posture.
