WHAT IF I AM YOUR MISSING PIECE? WHAT IF WE MESS WITH DESTINY?
WHAT IF THE DEFINITION OF 'WE', IS TWO PEOPLE IN TIME, LIVING THEIR OWN LIVES?

After some thorough questioning at the border by the patrol he'd encountered, Mink had managed to earn himself a spot in the ranks. He knew he would still have to prove himself to the cats here, but he didn't think that would be much of a problem. His first day in the group had actually been really nice, with many cats who were friendly enough to come over and introduce themselves to him. He got to get a lay of the land while joining one of the border patrols, and had even managed to snag a shrew on the way back in.

Now, toward the end of the day with dusk settling over camp, Mink found himself in camp relaxing in the fading sun. With fall on the way it would be cooling down soon and he wanted to make the most of the warmth while he could. This place, while similar in many ways to his former home, was also entirely unique. Sure, there was a single cat in charge that managed the group and her 'elite soldiers' -lead warriors- who helped her run things, but it was far less intense than his previous home. Cats were free to come and go from camp as they pleased without needing permission, all the duties were shared fairly among the cats regardless of rank, and there was just a general air of contentment and easiness about the place that hadn't been seen back home.

Of course, he'd certainly sensed some tension here and there among certain cats, but that was to be expected really. Not everyone could like everyone all the time. Still, he was optimistic. This really seemed like the kind of place that could fill the empty spaces in his heart he'd been dealing with, and he wanted to give it his best, honest shot to make it work.

She'd been the first to recommend that the tom would fight one of their warriors, to prove his worthiness and might in front of others. He'd deserved the right to prove himself, unlike many others of the past- they'd had plenty of cats try to join, but this one wasn't exactly hard to welcome in. She'd kept an eye on him ever since, wary of his intentions.

It was on this day that she spies from afar the tom in the distance, soaking up the sun- had she been Sootstar, perhaps she would have marched right up and asked why he was being lazy. When there was so much to do, so much to see.. She supposed it was only better that she wasn't like their respected and feared leader; after all, there was only room for one Sootstar.

She walks over calmly, face devoid of any true emotion- before a paw reaches out and attempts to shove at the tom's flank, trying to wake him up from his rest. It wasn't a harsh shove, but definitely hard enough to wake up the sleeping tom if he was a heavier sleeper than someone like Weaselclaw, who snored every fucking hour of the night.

"Oi. Do you have things to do, today? Or are you already done with your duties?"
