"Why can only one cat know how to heal others?" It was a simple question, but one that bothered the kit endlessly. Like a fly you couldn't quite catch. Or, maybe like an itch? She was good at catching flies. She shook her head. Focus!
The patch-work kitten stood at the apex of the medicine cat den, it's odd smells making her nose feel clean and sharp. Her lips are pursed, brows furrowed. She stares down her unseeing foe, not angry but not passively curious. She wouldn't leave without a real answer. She wouldn't.
"I mean, I know you can teach others - but why only a small amount? Wouldn't it be better if we all knew how to heal like we all know how to eat or play? Wouldn't that be easier? Think of all the great things that could come from that." Each words was honest, thought over. She had been curious a long time. She had been denied an answer a long time too.
The feeling was similar to a time her twolegs didn't leave her enough food and her siblings ate it all. She had to wait a whole day before she got more, her stomach twisting itself into knots and sharp spines with each passing moment. A great pain. A hunger. She swallowed thickly, shifting from side to side as her stomach became to ache.
