  LIVIDSMOKE Lividsmoke was born and raised by their single father Crawlingheart alongside their brother Basilkit. From a young age Lividkit has always been a rather withdrawn cat with a indifferent viewpoint of the world who was forced on the path to become a proper warrior by their father himself as an act of spiteful revenge against their mate who cheated and left them. Lividkit constantly lived under their fathers spiteful heart to the point his influence on them started to make them withdrawn from the relationship they had with their brother Basilkit, who was neglected and hated by their father. As result Lividpaw developed to become more cold and calculated who wished to cut ties with both their father and Basilpaw. So when Swallowkit entered the picture offering service in return of training tips Lividpaw didn't hesitant to take this opportunity to use Swallowkit to keep a distance between themself and Basilpaw. Although the two started to spend more time together, the interactions between them were often brief and one-sided. Despite this Lividpaw continued to allow Swallowpaw to remain beside them as she had become a tolerable company to have around in case of usefulness. Once warriorhood had arrived for both of them and with leafbare nearly behind them, as newleaf was on the horizon, Lividsmoke started to think it was about time to find a mate to give new future warriors to the clan as part of their duty as a warrior. It just happened to be convenient for them that the mate they choose would be Swallowflutter, who already had boldly stated interest in them.

  
  

  

  SWALLOWFLUTTER has always been a strange creature - born to a single mom who wasn't entirely ready for motherhood, Swallowkit and siblings were a trio of teeth and fangs and chaos - only Sneezekit tempered by any sort of gentleness. Naturally lacking in empathy, she struggled to get along with and understand her clanmates - leading to high tensions between her and Snowpaw from the very moment she was apprenticed. The ensuing rivalry caused her to feel left out from the already bonded apprentices den, adrift without understanding why, and feeling like an outsider she quickly clung to the only 'kindness' shown her way ─ Lividpaw, who treated their interactions more like a transaction and a grudging burden then anything, much to Swallowpaw's utter obliviousness. After exchanging battle tips and agreeing to play defence between Basilpaw and Lividpaw, Swallowpaw quickly grew possesive - putting other cats 'in their place' for showing interest in Lividpaw, be it romantic or platonic. It isn't until warriorhood however that it really clicks for her - a sudden realization that Swallowflutter isn't just worried about her only friend being taken from her, but that she is in love with them. With Duckshimmers pregnancy on the horizon, Swallowflutter comes up with a terrible idea - to announce her feelings to Lividsmoke, and convincethem to be their mate.

  THE LITTER​

  ─── With her feelings acknowledged, a conversation ensues - as Swallowflutter lists all the reasons that "having kits together would be a good idea." What should be an act of love is more of an item being checked off a bucket list - between the two of them, near every factor is accounted for ─ from planning out when they want to have their kittens and what season they'd be apprenticed, to how many Swallowflutter hopes to have, and what to name them when the time comes. It isn't long before it becomes obvious that she's expecting their kits as planned - but instead of following the rest of their perfectly laid out path, the unexpected happens. An omen followed by an illness strikes the clan - Swallowflutter included. And the Lividsmoke dies rather suddenly - leaving Swallowflutter unusually shaken, faced with the fact she will now have to raise them without Lividsmoke at her side, with her own future and fate uncertain.
  
  

• ☆ RULES

  ─ This litter is not FCFS. Applications will close on 04/04 and kittens will be chosen later the same day.
  ─ This is a worm litter. Kits will be born on 04/06 and will start out being played as newborns, aging realtime each month.
  ─ We expect you to maintain at least casual activity with these kittens - enough to stay on the census. Swallowflutter is a causal character, but these kittens are a major plot and development point for her! Disappearing or falling inactive, especially without clear OOC communication, will result in the slot being rehomed if we feel necessary.
  ─ Kits must stay in shadowclan until adulthood, and cannot be killed off until having received their warrior names unless dicussed beforehand.
  ─ Quality over quantity! We'll be picking kits who we think will fit best into this family dynamic within the parameters given.
  ─ There are some hypos available to claim, but using one will not affect your chances of being chosen.
  
  

  ☆ WHAT TO EXPECT

  ─ While extremely affectionate and doting, Swallowflutter will also be very extremely controlling of these kits until apprenticeship. Very few morals/ethics will be enforced beyond the needed to avoid 'embarrassing' situations in public and idolizing Lividsmoke's memory and goals, but she will give and expect utter honesty in return from her kits - to Swallowflutter, an ugly truth is better then a sweet lie. With that said, we are fine with kits who might not live up to their parents standards, or who might not be super happy with their parents treatment, as long as you keep in mind the IC ramifications.
  ─ While there is no intent to cross the line of outright physically abusive, Swallowflutter believes in using physical punishments to deal with misbehavior when necessary. Things like cuffs over the ears and head, and forcibly picking stubborn kittens up by the scruff to move them about will be commonplace.
  ─ These kits will be raised alongside many of their family members due to the closeness of the litter ages. Swallowflutter will often be seen babysitting Duckshimmers kits, and will be nursing tbdkit for its a secret alongside this litter. Close ties are encouraged but not required.
  
  

  Please keep in mind that this is a dysfunctional family . Both parents ideas of 'love' and 'family' were unhealthy in their own ways, and Swallowflutter's already questionable sanity has been warped by her grief. These parents are not by any means an example of a healthy relationship, nor is Swallowflutter a kind mother. An elegantly curled blue-tortieshell point feline with peircing blue eyes An almost perfect mix of her parents, the blue from her father, the point from her mother she stands tall and proud atop thin limbs, her fur gaining a curl that she meticulously maintains, vain in her appearance. Everything must be perfect. She is the perfect daughter, the picture that her parents dreamed of. Her blue eyes are a haunting, piercing visage, stabbing anyone who dares to meet her gaze in the place it most hurts. She walks with a grace that speaks to her belief that she is above everyone. Literally looking down on people from her height, her face is always settled into a glare towards anyone outside of her family. Her ears are always perked, primed to gather secrets not meant to be heard. She has white markings that resemble will-o-the-wisps, floating and free on her face. She is clearly marked for something greater and she will see it through to the end. Her name leads her to this same belief, the moon is the closet thing to the stars after all.

After her accident she has scarring primarily on the right side of her face, nicks along her right ear. Another scar runs on the left, directly above their eye over top their head, smaller scars litter that side. Her right eye has grown pale, the lack of vision clear. She walks hunched, no longer proud, ears flat and tail dragging on the ground. Moonlit's eyes flit about as if looking for an unseen danger. She is jumpy and quick to strike for fear of more harm coming to her. She scuttles about amongst the shadows, hiding from others. She is rarely seen anymore, preferring to hide amongst her family or the outskirts of camp, no longer vying to be the center of attention. She becomes practically a ghost.

Clever and Methodical Moonlit will see things through to the end. No matter what that goal is which sometimes includes tearing a cat down with her words. She strives to find the best way to achieve something, efficiency is the name of her game and she will always find the best, fast, and clear way to achieve her goals. She is confident in her abilities, confident that she is above everything, confident that she is meant for a higher purpose. She is perfect and no one else can be above her. When she is older she uses her looks and her melodic voice to ensnare her prey. Like a siren to a sailor she will be kind to a cat if it gets her what she wants before tearing them down when she has no use for them. She sees friends as a transactional relationship, something to be used and exchanged for things in return. Never truly knowing or having a proper or true friend she may come to regret this stance later in life.

Analytical Blunt Ruthless Aloof Vain Strategic Honest

A vain girl, Moonlit makes sure her fur is meticulously groomed and in perfect place before ever showing her face to anyone outside of the family. She will get unreasonable frustrated if her hard work is ruined, especially if it happens almost immediately after she spent all the time. Her words are sharp, she doesn't hold back. Her mother demands honesty and so she follows. She is rather severely blunt and doesn't care if it upsets people, the truth is the truth and it will get out one way or the other. Like her mother she demands honesty from herself and others, though that does not mean she will stand back and not lash out if she doesn't like what she's been told. She may be considered close to her siblings and family but she is otherwise distant from everyone else. She see's friends not as a close bond but as an object to be used to her own gains and thus forming those connections is not a priority unless it would benefit her. She is always observing, finding the points that make a cat tick using these to her advantage she keeps a close eye on things and knows everything about everyone, whether they realize it or not, and she will use this knowledge against them if she has to.

Selfish Self-centered Callous Judgemental Dogmatic

Moonlit would throw someone to the wolves if it meant she escaped unharmed. She cares about herself and no-one else. Her family gets a little more consideration than others but she would even potentially sacrifice them if it meant getting what she wants. Everyone is considered beneath her and she judges them for their failings and short-comings, for none are as special as she is, the perfect daughter, and so they will never amount to much in her eyes. She follows the rules to the letter, the rules her mother lays out, the rules of the clan. Anyone who breaks them gets snitched on and she will chew them out. Her way is the right way and she will not be told otherwise those who do not believe as she does are the worst possible creatures in her eyes and they are the lowest of the low. A cruel girl who has no regard for other's feelings, if her words hurt them? Then that's their problem not hers, not if her words are the truth.

She takes to her mother's teachings like a fish to water, believing that she is perfect and there far she is meant for greatness. This comes out in her appearance, how she takes care of her fur, how she interacts with others. She is vain and she knows it. Her voice is calm, calculating. Always looking for what it takes to hurt a cat the most. Words are her choice of weapon, sharper than a blade and fiercer than fangs. She cuts sharp and quick to the bone of what makes a cat tick and will use all she has to destroy another without lifting a finger. She takes "Kill them with kindness" to the literal degree if it gets her what she wants.

A farce of friendliness when she needs it but eventually her tactics may be realized by her clanmates and not be as effective, in which case she will adapt and evolve. No one wins this game but her and she always wins. She commands attention and awe from those around her, the top of the food chain amongst her peers, she will strive to be the leader of her agemates, taking to trying to be the top of the apprentices even from the onset. She stews in anger, lashing out when least expected if provoked, but she plans and she will get her revenge at the moment that is least expected. Cunning and sharp she will be a force to be feared and reckoned with. She is destined for greatness and everyone will know it.

A resourceful girl, much like her mother she has a plan for everything. When she will be apprenticed, who her mentor will be, what her warrior name rightly should be, everything is planned down to the second and any disruption causes great frustration and anger. She tries not to let it show outwardly, repressing anything that makes her imperfect. Any mishap is shameful and it just makes her anger grow more and more large and potent. If she's unable to find a quiet place where she can unleash her anger in peace and more importantly alone, the resulting embarrassment and shame haunts her for days on end until she can settle the mask back into place.

A shell of her former self. Her self-esteem destroyed. She is what she most detests. Hideous, ruined, pathetic. She draws in to herself, no longer speaking to anyone but family. No longer the top of the food chain, her destiny in tatters, she believes that she is the ultimate failure, no longer perfect, a stain on her family name. She has a plan for everything, but this? This was not in those plans. At rock bottom, normally the only way to go is up, but the shadows are deep and she falls into a despair, seeming unlikely to be dragged out. She has no friends, most people at this point probably hate her due to her previous actions, she is alone besides her family and even they may have negative reactions.

She moves through life after this in a daze, no longer planning, no longer manipulating. What's the point after all? Her charm is gone, she is quiet. No longer loud, drawing all the attention to her. She fades into the background, most not even noticing she's there. She is alone and she hates it. She realizes that her past actions have isolated her and she has no one to confide in, to just be with. Her existence is a lonely one. This perhaps let's her see the error of her ways changing for the better, becoming a reflection of herself, realizing that she needs to change if she doesn't want to be lonely or alone. It remains to be seen if she has the strength or the will to follow through.....

PERSONA
The Enforcer. The Favorite. Her self-proclaimed job is to make sure everyone is following the rules. She is quick to tattle if someone is breaking them. She believes this will elevate herself to being Mother's favorite, after all, Swallowflutter values honesty above all else, so if she's telling the truth? And it means her siblings follow Swallow's one rule of not embarrassing them in public then in her eyes it's a necessary evil.

The Negotiator. Charming and Kind. A mask put on for other's to believe that they are friends. In reality she only uses them to get what she wants. Extra food? The best bedding? A visit to places she should not be? All of it is fair game in her eyes and she will do what she most to get what she wants. Cunning and calculating through and through.

The Magician. Manipulation streak a mile wide and selfishness winning above all else. She cares only for herself and has little regard to others. She views people as a means to an end, that end being the top. She will use people as stepping stones to achieve the greatness she is destined for and no one will stand in her way.

Moon. Lost and alone, she wallows in misery. Her shame clear on her face for all to see she hides away. Her self-esteem in tatters. A wisp of her former self she hides in the shadows, away from anyone and everything. She trusts no one, after all, before the incident she only used people as a means to an end, so why would they not do the same to her now that she is ruined?

The Blind. Lost in a world of half darkness she navigates without a light. With her pride went her sight, a half ghost of who she was. She carries the mark on her face, a clear sign of weakness for anyone who glances upon her face. A shame that she hides from the world as best she can, as useless an attempt it may be. It is obvious from the onset that she cannot see and that she will never regain that vision she has now lost. She will forever be in the dark.

The Imperfect Shadow. The once perfect daughter, the creature she is now is no longer that. The opposite of what she once was. Once in the light she now hides amongst the shadows, seeking out those she once betrayed only to be shunned. She doesn't know how to deal with this, this breaking of the plan. She gets lost in the dark and will need someone to drag her out.

PLOT IDEAS
The Perfectly Imperfect Daughter. The obvious one is the plot I had where she gains an injury sometime in apprentice hood, perhaps half-way or towards the end. It delays her warrior ceremony and steals half her sight. She has to learn to adapt to both the changes in her vision as well as the changes in her life. Basing assumptions on the bit about disabilities in kits as being the same even for an older apprentice, I'm assuming Swallowflutter wouldn't know how to react to this. Whether it's meant to be or not Moonlit will take this negatively, after all, she is the perfect daughter, the favorite. But now she no longer sees herself as being able to be so, for she is ruined.

The Broken Plan. Like her mother she has a plan for everything, but this was not in the plan. It quite possibly breaks her, making her unable to comprehend a future. She had everything planned out down to her warrior name but now with the delay and everything else? It's all in ruins. She doesn't know how to recover from this. Perhaps she gives up making plans going forward? For she has learned that even the best laid plans can be ruined by unforeseen events. Or perhaps she doubles down, becomes paranoid about everything being perfect, everything has to go according to plan. After all, the last time it didn't she lost her sight.

A Mirrored Self. An idea is that during the era of despair and misery after the incident she reflects on her past actions. She has turned everyone away from her, no one trusts her, no one likes her. She has no one but family to rely on and she may not even have that, at least in her eyes. Perhaps this reflection leads to a change, a change for the better. She wants to undo the harm she did, not for any sort of self-fulfilling purpose...But because she wants a friend. A true friend that will be with her through thick and thin. Someone she can rely on when the going gets tough, she's never had that before.

NEW BEGINNINGS AND CONCLUSION
Her story would be one of major growth that none of my other characters have truly experienced or are planned to experience. I think it could be interesting and fun in general to explore a completely different story/character than my usual. She takes quite a bit of inspiration from villains that received a redemption arc, Darth Vader being the prime example that I can actually name off the top of my head. I've always found the idea fascinating and interesting, and something I wanted to explore. I am unsure if it is considered a "trope" necessarily but if it is it's an interesting one and I think it would be very very fun to see where this would lead, the shenanigans that could ensue. Also! I made a few assumptions as mentioned about certain opinions the family may have about her injury based on the info in the post and from what I've seen in the RP but if those do not match what would actually happen at that moment than I am perfectly capable of adapting. I kind of just went with the worst possible scenario in Moonlit's eyes to emphasize some things but if it's not to that extreme that is totally ok!
And finally, I realize this is long, but I had a lot of ideas and I do want to say thank you for at least considering it. :)

Whether she is truly her mothers favorite or not she will believe she is. She will believe she is above everyone and that she is all important. Her downfall will be her injury, half blind and scarred, her self esteem takes a hit, much like her mother she has a plan for everything but this...this she never foresaw. She will have no idea how to go forward, She is no longer the perfect daughter. She is ruined, hideous, pathetic.

SHORTHAIRED FLAME POINT WITH STORM-BLUE EYES
Bristlekit has her dam's coloring laid over her sire's frame. She will grow to be tall, though not particularly broad; her shape will be narrow and trim, from slim shoulders to a tapered waist and tail. Her ears are her father's: large, angular, an echo of his Oriental heritage, though they are flame-red in color. Her fur is short and clipped-close to most of her body, though there is some suggestion of scruff bunched at her chest. Bristlekit's facial structure will remain closer to Swallowflutter's as she ages—her features, save her high-set and narrow storm-blue eyes, will be rounded and soft. She will not have pronounced cheekbones; her features will be petal-like, unfurling, and a touch out of place beside the sharp planes of her body.

Her face is ember-masked, her ears ruddy, her tail and paws rose-sheathed. The color is striking and bold against a near-white body. The only touch of actual white on Bristlekit is an ivory smear just above her pink bud of a nose; this is a gift from Lividsmoke. As mentioned previously, Bristlekit has also inherited Lividsmoke's eyes; they are angular, critical, set high on her rounded cheeks, and a probing tempestuous blue. Unlike Lividsmoke, however, Bristlekit's gaze is startlingly expressive: she is closer to her mother in that, unable to mask what brews beneath.

Bristlekit is goal-oriented and ambitious; she wants to be a legendary warrior, a cat who inspires tales of greatness and awe. She will be studious and hardworking during her apprenticeship, though she will have a power struggle with her mentor that could last until her graduation. Bristlekit is sharply intelligent and more than a touch conceited; she is a famous know-it-all, which can be infuriating to both her superiors and her peers. This is all out of an innate need to prove herself to be better than everyone else; she will work herself to the bone to ensure she is the best, that she is better than the rest of them. Failures will be bitter and possibly catastrophic; tantrums will follow in her kithood and early apprenticeship, and in her late apprenticeship and adulthood, they will result in poisonous degrees of self-flagellation and alienation.

She will have moments where she is charming and winsome; unfortunately, those will grow to be far and few between. Bristlekit is brash, aggressive, and crude toward her peers and those she deems "beneath her." She retains a degree of loyalty to those who can stand her externalized violence, but even to those closest to her, she is sharp-tongued, witheringly sarcastic, and condescending. Bristlekit is likely to have admirers in the weaker-willed of the Clan or in those easily stricken by physical beauty and brains, but it is written in the stars that she will have an ever-shrinking social circle as she ages. Caustic and jealous of her direct competition, Bristlekit is not above starting fires and spreading rumors to make her peers look bad.

Romance will never come easily to Bristlekit, though once she reaches seven or eight moons, there will be a part of her that obsesses over it. Bristlekit's tendency to put others down and push others away will be applied to crushes, especially if she deems those crushes to be lesser than her. If she perceives someone to be on her level, though, she may openly and relentlessly pursue them, to the point that her advances can become unsettling or off-putting. Those who admire a strong and confident personality may find her witty and becoming at first, but it's unlikely for someone well-adjusted to tolerate her abrasiveness for long.

All of this ultimately guards a soft and spiritually neglected soul that cries out for unconditional love… but Bristlekit's innate fear of rejection is so deep that she will develop a needling exterior to protect herself from emotional harm. At her core, Bristlekit is deeply self-hating and sad, but the cat who sees this side of her will not likely thank her for showing it to them.

• Will realize quite early that she identifies as a she-cat; will never accept other pronouns.
• Bristlekit will be born with a weak liver because of her mother's sickness while she is in utero. Her ability to process toxins will be limited. This means if she eats crowfood or is poisoned, her potential for getting extremely sick or dying is heightened due to her liver's inability to eliminate toxins effectively. Considering a plot point where she eats carrion and finds this out the hard way.

✧ TBDKit is a very quiet kit, often keeping to themselves. They want their mother's approval just as much as the others, but have found it best to just keep quiet and do as they are told. They will quietly and obediently take whatever their mother throws at them, loving her regardless of what harm might come from it.

LH BLUE TORTIE WITH SKY-BLUE EYES
A long-haired blue tortoiseshell point with minimal cream patches, only appearing on the top of her head and the base of her tail. They bear enough of a resemblance to a golden-crowned kinglet to have earned their name. They have large blue eyes that don't show many emotions besides faint curiosity. Their build is charmingly small and round, similar to their mother's.

Emotionally distant, but not in an unkind way, Kingletkit is genuinely curious about how empathy works. They follow Swallowflutter's rule of honesty to a T and doesn't understand, at first, why this could be offensive. They eventually grow to understand that the standards set by Swallowflutter are a drain on their health, both mental and by extension physical, but they are afraid to rebel, as they still hold love for their mother despite her flaws and don't want to alienate her. Since they share the trait of low/lacking empathy, this is perhaps the one instance of true empathy Kingletkit experiences, as they can actually see themself in Swallowflutter's shoes (so to speak) and thus they understand part of why she is the way she is without really having to work to puzzle it out.

Romance would be an awkward on and off situation reminiscent of Spock and Uhura in the Star Trek reboot, with Kingletkit making multiple blunders that cause their partner to break up with them before they figure out what they did wrong and take steps to remedy or explain their actions. They also share some mannerisms with Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation, mainly the head tilt and the expression he makes when his questions about human social constructs are answered. They share both Spock and Data's way of speaking, smart and well-spoken but for the most part emotionally distant until they learn to put some recognizable inflection in their voice, mostly that of curiosity. They often say "it is curious" as a precursor to making an observation on something they don't understand.

They do feel emotion, despite seeming not to; their emotional distance is the result of flat affect, a symptom of autism. Basically, they are Autisms Georg and can't really mask.

• Kingletkit is hard of hearing. They often have to ask their Clanmates to slow down and look at them when they speak so that they can read lips, or to speak louder and more clearly. They speak a little louder than most of their Clanmates to be able to hear themself.
• As noted above, I took some inspiration from Spock and Data from Star Trek, I've been re-watching the reboot so I've got Star Trek on the brain LMAO

➸ a long-furred domestic kitten, her fur is fluffy giving her the impression of being rather large, but underneath all the fur she's a rather ordinary sized feline. she's a dilute tortie with white, her fur a dream-like mixture of creams and blues with large splotches of white. when her eyes finally show their true color, they'll be a deep, intense, amber. her face carries a naturally somber expression, as if she were always lost in thought, and her movements are slow and deliberate.

➸ dark, obsessive, and brooding. robinkit longs for an escape from her mother's oppressive standards, but is helpless at finding the solution to do so. instead, she retreats into her mind. her imagination is her only solace, and her private thoughts are the only place she can be herself. . . whatever that means. aloof and stoic on the outside, her mind is in constant turmoil, every suppressed emotion fighting to spill out into the world. this can never happen, so she makes sure it doesn't; she says little, and when she speaks its usually cold, rigid, and rehearsed. deep down, she harbors a longing for connection, but it manifests in twisted ways, namely through obsessive infatuations and an overwhelming need to be understood, even as she keeps herself distant. she doesn't handle rejection well and, despite her cold exterior, she internalizes every slight, letting it fester into something poisonous as she holds lifelong grudges.
